This should serves as a caution to the entire crypto community. These are some of the downside or holding huge funds on exchange when you intend to hold.

This is really a disappointment and knowing Bithumb is the largest crypto exchange in Korea. And they should have hire great cyber security team and some elite developers to implement a much better security in their exchanges. They have millions of money from trading fees and they have to used it to spend in the security of their exchange.

I am not sure if this news is 100% sure, but I don't think we should be surprised if the news is true because we have seen a lot of news about crypto exchange being hacked recently and I believe we are even going to see much more hack because this hackers are not sleeping and are working hard night and day to make sure they are able to hack as many exchanges as possible, so that they can make many money as possible.

After the Cryptopia, DragonEx, some others exchange and now the Bithumb! So, within three months, a couple of good crypto exchange got hacked! We are not safe anywhere in the crypto, this is why everyone shouldn't hold money in any exchanges! I don't know how much money will be stolen this year, last year crypto market lost more than 1.2 Billion USD from the exchange hack, this year, almost 250 Million USD stolen by the hacker within three months! Oh, these numbers are horrible

Bithumb is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea and it has been hacked for second time
for a huge number of EOS and XRP. It was hacked last year also when 30$ million worth crypto was  stolen.
This is why we should not hodl our coins on exchanges  as there is no week that some of them is not hacked.
DragonEx Exchange got hacked a few days ago as well.

Well, it seems no improvement in their security has been taken out, the hackers had a much better skill than their security officers,  people will think it's an inside job, like what happens to Cryptopia, why can't these exchange like Kucoin or BInance, they are well secured.

I am very much disappointed with this so-called big exchange! I think people should stop loving this exchange! Last year, Bithumb exchange was hacked for two different times and almost 40 Million USD was stolen, and this year the same incident is happening! So, Bithumb exchange hacked and lost 13 Million USD yesterday and now I can tell you this exchange will hack another time within this year!  still, it's rank and volume is very high! I stopped trading in this sh*t exchange, even I feel safer in Forkdelta than this Bithumb!

This is the bad news today that I read, why is hacking still happening frequently? This is something very worrying! Of course more people will be afraid of risks like this. Disappointing!! Thank you.
Everything we do certainly has risks, Previously it also often happened. All crypto exchanges should increase their exchange security level. In the future things like this will not happen again. I am sorry for what is happening now for the exchange.

Well, the exchange is always under threat. I have somehow seen people who claimed that they were better off securing their money on the stock exchange than your wallets) Well, here you are, the stock exchange can be easily attacked.

Bithumb has been hacked for around $20 million, user funds stored in crypto cold storage wallets were not hacked, but corporate funds were moved, it's like inside job and funds might have been moved by individuals associated with the company, so the problem is insider job, it's hard to eliminate.
They already had mentioned that it's probably an insider attack. It will be nothing hard to find out who is the criminal if they want to. Not everyone is responsible for each task. Seperate sections perform seperate job.

So they need to clarify with all of their staff, and they should do verification too like what they did with their customer. It is important to protect the site from outside and inside of the exchanges so they can make sure that all of the assets will be safe. But that is not good for Bithumb, and I hope that they can learn from their mistake. I hope that they can be caught the person who stole the assets.

What the hell is happened, i think it's second time hacked first time over 30 million and now again 3.07 million EOS hacked. Bithumb is big exchange so it's very sad news for all users. Big amount EOS hacking so provably price will be dump.

The lesson here is we can not leave huge funds in some exchanges as this hacking thing is really possible nowadays.

No one has ever suggested to leaving funds with a big nominal on the exchange.
The hacked case often happens, such warnings are often given.

Well I pity those who always leave coins on exchanges especially traders ,no exchange is safe from hacks ,I don't believe in there security as they always claim ,its indeed a big shame if this continues, hackers are getting wiser everyday and they will try to jailbreak any exchanges ,its left for exchange users to thread carefully

Very right ,its just a shame how crypto exchanges are been hacked like this ,2019 alone we've seen few exchanges getting hacked I hope something will be done to fix issues of hacks once and for all,the lesson to be learned from this is never to leave your coins or tokens on any exchange even if its a very popular one

That's exactly what I'm thinking. It is probably an insider doing the hacking thing. We can't really trust any exchanges whether it is really a secure one or it is one of the most popular. The lesson here is we can not leave huge funds in some exchanges as this hacking thing is really possible nowadays.

Today, March 30, crypto exchange Bithumb posted on Twitter that their cryptocurrency withdrawals and deposits have temporarily been paused.

In an explanation linked to the tweet, the exchange writes that at 10:15 (time zone unknown) on the 29th, they detected what they describe as abnormal withdrawals through their monitoring system.

The exchange continues that they have “secured all the cryptocurrency from the detection time with a cold wallet and checked them by blocking deposit and withdrawal service.”

According to the translated note, the incident was an “accident involving insiders” and they are conducting investigations with security companies, the cyber police agency, and KISA.

And my prediction becomes a true story when all of the hacked cases that involved the insiders. The problem s about with the insiders itself. bithumb must take a legal suit against that traitor. That's really annoying how the insider was trying to steal money.

Inside job is really hard to eliminate. Greed for money is man's nature.
But the good thing with this case - they can trace who is responsible because it is within their system. Hopefully, it is!
Even having tight security features will be pointless if inside job is in action.

And again, this are showing us that security will always have it's hole for a hacker doing it's job. Bithumb are getting hacked even they were one of a biggest exchange in this crypto world. Many people will become afraid, and now will be realize if it's better to put their assets in an offline wallets.
