i like the idea and the website looks promising and well thought out (you should activate ssl though)
Thanks for the hint, working on it.
have you thought about adding incentives/funding for film makers? maybe through sponsorships from crypto companies.
Idea is good, but it probably has to be a different project. It is quite difficult to mix together the film festival and the platform for filmmakers where they can get grants for their crypto films, let's call it Crypto Films Funding and Development Initiative (CFFDI). But though Crypto Film Festival can promote the CFFDI and vice versa. There also can be a section at the film festival where films, produced thorough the CFFDI would be presented.
The only question is how to get it working.
One option is to make something similar to Kickstarter: filmmakers can post their project in development and ask Crypto Warriors to support them.
Another option is to bring it to the whole new level. Get support from the crypto whales, form a committee, announce the grant (once a year, half a year). Filmmakers will submit their crypto film projects in development (probably it will be focused on short films: the budget is relevantly low, so more filmmakers could get a chance to realize their crypto film ideas and bring more awareness of the crypto world to the masses). Committee than will study the submitted projects, make a short list, do some pitching with the filmmakers and award the grands.
Something like this.
If this project will be limited to the Russian and Belarusian language I would suggest that you post it in their local board here in the forum since you are only limiting your project to certain countries which doesn't really apply to all of us.
This project is definitely not limited to the Russian and Belarusian language. The screening will take place in Belarus, so the main audience will be locals and we have to respect their ability to understand what they will see. This is the reason for Russian subtitles. But the films can be of any language. As it stated in the Rules the films will be screened in original language. If the majority of the shortlisted films will be not in English language (what is quite doubtful) than it is quite possible that they would be subtitled in English as well, in order to respect our guest from abroad. Or there will be a separate screening. Possibilities are endless.
For a filmmaker's standpoint they might just see your website as a mode of stealing their work as you aren't giving any information about you, surely you will understand the no one will be interested to take part of your project due to the mysteriousness of your organization.
Your suspicion is understandable. Most of us were witnessed a lot of scams, shitcoin ICO's rains etc. But this project is not about selling or buying anything. This project is about promoting Crypto Ideas. If we want to steal films from filmmakers, we probably do it in the different way and do it probably in all genres - not just limit ourselves to Crypto Theme. Moreover, I bet that filmmakers, who made a short film about crypto, want to promote its ideas and would probably give it away for free anyway, to spread the Crypto Philosophy.
But nevertheless, all the films are submitted via Film Festival platforms (Filmfreeway, Festhome, Clickforfest ets.) which have some level of protection and required additional permission from a filmmaker for a film to be downloaded.
