I can not make a film, but it would be great in case ordinary people would have the access to the filmotek of authors from such festivals.
From philosophical point of view everyone of us deep down is a filmmaker. Each and every one of us writes every day a new page of the script for our own film calling "My life". For some of us it is a soap opera, for others - a blockbuster or may be a crime drama, you name it. So, why not to transcend this scripts into the real films. All you need is just to set you imagination free and let your wildest idea splash out on paper or text editor. Only sky is the limit when it come to creativity. CryptoFilmaking Lounge was created exactly for this reason. There everyone can be a scriptwriter or a filmmaker.

Hey man,

New here but long time crypto investor. About to start my own film production company in the coming months. This might be our first project. Love the idea.

The main goal of the Crypto Film Festival is to popularize the philosophy, ideas and technologies of cryptocurrency via such a universal artistic form of communication as film-making. By bringing the best films of the Cryptocurrency Theme from all over the world to the international audience, the CFFest Team hopes to contribute to a better understanding of the cryptocurrency, its role and place in our daily life, present and future.

You can find the rules here:http://cffest.xyz/rules

Interesting idea. I haven't heard about it earlier. Key idea to make the society better understand the crypto via movies is great, because very often people's attention is attracted more by visual objects, it works better. I can not make a film, but it would be great in case ordinary people would have the access to the filmotek of authors from such festivals. It would help the idea to reach a wider audience. Personally I would watch them with great pleasure.

We are happy to announce that  CryptoFilmaking Lounge has finally opened its doors.
Within it cozy walls you can recharge your creativity, suggest an idea for a film or take part in the Collective Intelligence Script Writing.
https://cffest.xyz/cryptofilmmakinglounge/

Can others participate on the ideas as well? Like those who doesn't really onto Filmmaking, yet proficient in story making.
Of course, everybody can participate. You can suggest an idea for film via CryptoFilmaking Lounge, mentioned above, or by posting it in this topic.

If it was so, then it might help covering the loopholes of this film festival's idea as some people's idea can be as brilliant as 3 ideas combined.
Crypto Film Festival itself should not been confused with CreativeFilmaking Lounge. The Film Festival itself do not need film ideas. It is a platform that meant to bring to the audience the best Crypto Theme Films made all around the globe. The film ideas are needed for CryptoFilmmaking Lounge. It is kind of "Crypto Film Ideas Generator" and it purpose is to inspire and stimulate filmmakers to conquer new heights in the CryptoFilmaking Universe.

Also worth mentioning that it is difficult to do a crypto related film as a main topic of the film and sometimes the ideas that will work have something to do with bitcoin being used in something negative. Mon ey can be a center of the story, take Ozark for example or Money Heist or the Italian Job, most of heist movies have the money as a center of the story.

Lol those movies doesn't uses Money as their main topic and character. It all revolves on the action and how the main characters blend and portray the plot of the story. Hence, it's not 'center' per se, but rather a side tool as the story progress.

We will add these ideas to the CryptoFilmamking Ideas Section, as soon as it will be ready on the Festival website.

I don't think I can make a film  Grin  but I have an idea for film, can I sugest it?
Why not. Maybe it will inspire someone to write a script, assemble a crew and shoot a crypto masterpiece. Luckily nowadays, thanks to the digital technologies, filmmakers do not need tons of expensive rolls of film to make a movie.
By the way it is a good point to share your crypto film ideas.  We are thinking to make a section on the Festival website where everyone can suggest theirs crypto ideas for films. It would be a good place for filmmakers to draw inspiration and for Crypto Warriors to share their ideas, thoughts and life stories, they want to be brought to life via filmmaking.

I must criticise you, your website hosting sounds terrible. everything seems very slow to me, with a very long time for the initial load.
A good, constructive criticism has never harmed anyone;) We will do some research in regards of alternative website hosting platform.

this reminded me of Vod action Bitcoin flash mob? Maybe you can help each other.
Thanks for the hint, may be we will.

Good ideas for a movie would be, Bitcoin, crypto, exchange hacks and those that were closed down.

or someone who lost there BTC, crypto.
 https://latestcrypto.news/man-who-lost-bitcoin-in-landfill-offers-72-million-to-dig-it-up/
Just came up with a film idea: where a man struggles in trading as he tried to use most of his money onto crypto and found himself be lost on his journey forward -- more specifically a mental awareness movie with risks and effects that could arise in engaging with crypto and trading it.
We will add these ideas to the CryptoFilmamking Ideas Section, as soon as it will be ready on the Festival website.

There's nothing like a good movie, rather a blockbuster than the blockchain when it comes to movies.

Wouldn't it be great to see a blockbuster about the blockcain? All we need is just a good script, written by all Crypto Warriors together, in cooperation.

Also worth mentioning that it is difficult to do a crypto related film as a main topic of the film and sometimes the ideas that will work have something to do with bitcoin being used in something negative. I think money or crypto not necessary need to be the main topic. When we watching movies, we watching other people, their lives and their interaction with each other and the world around them. We identify or not identify ourselves with the characters, feel sympathy for good guys and antipathy to the bad guys or vise versa. Crypto can be a component of the equation that influences, changes and modifies these relationships, brings new angles. Something, that gives people opportunities to be better or, sometimes, worse.

But still, there can be loopholes on judging side, as crypto itself can be way vague, and so do film genres. I don't know if even creating a short film related to crypto would even have a great impact nor lure just simple audiences to watch it, because in the end it is just an implicit way of promoting crypto. It is like creating a movie about money, which was never been a topic of a movie but only a tool to progress a scene.

I like the idea of having that "Crypto Film Festival" since it can educate people about the existence of bitcoin but as @hugeblack said hopefully the film creator will verify the whole information so that they can insert into the movie that bitcoin is good and to have a good image since if the producer will just link them on silkroad and other fraud acts well instead of getting something good the approach of people will be different.
That is if the entries focus on crypto instead of just making crypto just a cameo role in the film. To be honest, it is difficult to make a movie that revolves around crypto because it is easy to overlap with the subplot of the possible film, I mean what can crypto do to make it stand out in the film besides being used for transactions and such but that is not a bad thing because it is a challenge for the film makers to do because they have to make something little as a center piece of the story.

Let me know if comic skits can also be submitted,  it's about 5 minutes in length.
Definitely give it a go. Even if not selected for the main screening it could be shown in between the films during the screenings as a tension braker, to give the audience a laugh and provide some educational lessons about crypto.

Will the festival be a crypto promotion or will there be gifts and prizes for the winners?
Hopefully it would be both. Gift and prizes for the winners will definitely bring more attention to the Festival. They even may encourage non-crypto aware filmmakers to explore the Crypto Theme and make their next film specially for the Crypto Film Festival. But unfortunately, at the moment we do not know what will be our financial situation and abilities, so we don't want to give any empty hopes by advertising prizes for the winners.

One of the disadvantages of film-making industry is that they do not verify the information accurately. Will there be an audit to ensure that the digital currencies are properly identified?
Isn’t it a kind of philosophical question? From one hand, by dividing films on a bad and good one for the image of Bitcoin with the followed up banning of not good one from the screening on the Festival we will do exactly what crypto and this Community is supposed to fight against - censorship, centralization and unjust segregation. But from the other hand – by showing dark, anty-crypto films about an unrestrainable flourishment of all kind of scams and dark deals through the crypto technologies on the tides of dark web, we will plunge the image of Crypto, which is still in its maturation stage, even more dipper into the mud of scepticism. Nevertheless, all these dark sided problems do exist, despite our unconditional love for Bitcoin, and hiding them under the carpet will most likely not the way to solve them. Maybe exposing them will help to find a path, a solution for these problems, or maybe not.
Will the Festival be a fluffy and bright sided or dark and pessimistic, or may be a yin-yang styled one, balanced on both - good and bad? Well, it is definitely not up to CFFest Team to decide. It is up to the Community, the collective intelligence.

But anyways good luck for planning to build this plan.
Thanks for the supportive word, appreciate it Wink

But, actually how many of the films were made related to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. Lot of new films are using the name or signboards but its not actually creating any awareness or anything. Only documentary movies are available or atleast that is what I had seen about cryptos until now.

Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies are still in the process of growth and few people know them, so it may be time for Seema to get this industry out of the darkness of the dark internet to properly identify it.

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." - Leonardo da Vinci

You didn't even removed the copyright in footer section.
Done. It's always good to have a couple of additional eyes, in case you missed something.

Also the ssl is still missing
It would be probably correct to say ssl is not missing but not configured properly. Still working on it, a lot of blueprint to process Wink

Whats your future plans?
Promote the Festival > Form a Viewers Panel (VP)>Process the submitted films > Get the submitted films viewed by the VP> Form the short list based on the VP scores > Form the Jury Panel > Host the Festival (Summer 2022).

Do u plan to earn on ads on your site?
As it was mention before the project is not meant to sell or buy anything, its sole purpose is to promote the ideas and philosophy of cryptocurrency. Making profit would be kind of cynical lying to the community and to ourselves. Nevertheless, we still live in the capitalistic society and it is obvious that to host the festival it would be require to accumulate some resources. If there will be interested parties to support the festival and become a sponsor, we would appreciate it and be ready to cooperate. But to stay in the zone of transparency and accountability we want all the resources that will be accumulated for the festival to be monitored by the community. Moreover, the resourses even could be managed by the most trusted Crypto Warriors, whoever it will be can be decided by the community.

Early films on Bitcoin were rather more about the way of life than crypto(currency) itself.
Cryptocurrency itself, as we see it, is just kind of a technical instrument, a building block that leading us to a new way of life, new way of interaction within the society. Thereby by "Crypto Theme films" we understand films that explore and expose a wide range of different aspects of human lives touched by this new way of interaction. Dry, technical videos about cryptocurrency itself hardly fall in to this niche, but being supporter of equal chances for all, we do accept them as well. The Viewers Panel than decide who will make it into the short list.

Crypto, in as loose a term as possible, isn't exactly full of people who'd be interested in the more esoteric forms of expression with film.
Make sense. We do expect the majority of the films to be submitted from the filmmaker professionals who are bitcoin enthusiast, rather than bitcoin professionals who are filmmaker enthusiast. But once again, being a supporter of equal chances for all, we do spread the word about Crypto Film Fest among Bitcoiners.

Might probably have better luck finding some support with libertarians and anarchists, or cypherpunks at least. Early films on Bitcoin were rather more about the way of life than crypto(currency) itself.

Crypto, in as loose a term as possible, isn't exactly full of people who'd be interested in the more esoteric forms of expression with film. Unless you're talking about those influencer videos that make me grind my teeth, that is.

i like the idea and the website looks promising and well thought out (you should activate ssl though)
Thanks for the hint, working on it.

have you thought about adding incentives/funding for film makers? maybe through sponsorships from crypto companies.
Idea is good, but it probably has to be a different project. It is quite difficult to mix together the film festival and the platform for filmmakers where they can get grants for their crypto films, let's call it Crypto Films Funding and Development Initiative (CFFDI). But though Crypto Film Festival can promote the CFFDI and vice versa. There also can be a section at the film festival where films, produced thorough the CFFDI would be presented.
The only question is how to get it working.
One option is to make something similar to Kickstarter: filmmakers can post their project in development and ask Crypto Warriors to support them.
Another option is to bring it to the whole new level. Get support from the crypto whales, form a committee, announce the grant (once a year, half a year). Filmmakers will submit their crypto film projects in development (probably it will be focused on short films: the budget is relevantly low, so more filmmakers could get a chance to realize their crypto film ideas and bring more awareness of the crypto world to the masses). Committee than will study the submitted projects, make a short list, do some pitching with the filmmakers and award the grands.
Something like this.

If this project will be limited to the Russian and Belarusian language I would suggest that you post it in their local board here in the forum since you are only limiting your project to certain countries which doesn't really apply to all of us.

This project is definitely not limited to the Russian and Belarusian language. The screening will take place in Belarus, so the main audience will be locals and we have to respect their ability to understand what they will see. This is the reason for Russian subtitles. But the films can be of any language. As it stated in the Rules the films will be screened in original language. If the majority of the shortlisted films will be not in English language (what is quite doubtful) than it is quite possible that they would be subtitled in English as well, in order to respect our guest from abroad. Or there will be a separate screening. Possibilities are endless.

For a filmmaker's standpoint they might just see your website as a mode of stealing their work as you aren't giving any information about you, surely you will understand the no one will be interested to take part of your project due to the mysteriousness of your organization.

Your suspicion is understandable. Most of us were witnessed a lot of scams, shitcoin ICO's rains etc. But this project is not about selling or buying anything. This project is about promoting Crypto Ideas.  If we want to steal films from filmmakers, we probably do it in the different way and do it probably in all genres - not just limit ourselves to Crypto Theme. Moreover, I bet that filmmakers, who made a short film about crypto, want to promote its ideas and would probably give it away for free anyway, to spread the Crypto Philosophy.
But nevertheless, all the films are submitted via Film Festival platforms (Filmfreeway, Festhome, Clickforfest ets.) which have some level of protection and required additional permission from a filmmaker for a film to be downloaded.

6. LANGUAGE VERSIONS AND SUBTITLES

6.1. All films will be screened in their original languages with Russian subtitles, except for films with dialogues in Russian or Belarusian.

If this project will be limited to the Russian and Belarusian language I would suggest that you post it in their local board here in the forum since you are only limiting your project to certain countries which doesn't really apply to all of us. Aside from that your website seems to be missing a lot of information where you mentioned you are composed of "film professionals" yet I can't see any names involving your team as well as the jury you have. For a filmmaker's standpoint they might just see your website as a mode of stealing their work as you aren't giving any information about you, surely you will understand the no one will be interested to take part of your project due to the mysteriousness of your organization.
