I got news for you OP... 75% of the American population is functionally illiterate.  Detroit is looking up!

Lol this killed me. You damn right !! I really hope a flood or some horrible natural disaster wipes them out.

Even illiterate people know how to operate laptops and mobiles and hence crypto can be used by them too. You don't need to be an expert in technology as even having the basic knowledge of how to own a crypto wallet and transferring coins can be suffice.

I don't think so....

Illetrate people are very poor people. I don't think they will be very benefical to Bitcoin. Thus, that's not the population to target. They will eventually join by themselves.

No one ever claimed bitcoin was going to replace cash. No one realistic, anyway.

Let's pick on Detroit, which has a population of 700,000. There are nearly 350,000 people who are illiterate.

Crypto in it's current form is obviously not a solution for these people. Cash is.

If you want the 'Detroits' of the world to use crypto it will need to be a physical, off blockchain, method. Maybe even employ a zero knowledge proof physical token.
