Pretty interesting questions you have there.

Not really.  He is trying to gain control over as much cryptocurrency as he can.  Then he will disappear.

What would it take to start a small time crypto fund?
can a cryptofund exist without renting office space?
can such fund be registered in one domicile but operate from another?
what are the most common absolutely necessary steps in founding such fund?
thank you

The idea is much more important than the time. An excellent idea has its own timing and it's done in any way and time. Just have a great idea.

Pretty interesting questions you have there. I don't have experience in crypto fund at all, but my guess would be that it depends on where you live and what are the laws governing in both the registration place and the operation place, I highly encourage you to speak to a lawyer for this and don't take whatever answers here as granted as it could end up very bad for you.
