While crypto makes it easier to run an online casino due to taking banks out of the equation, the legality of the matter is still a bit tricky. The latter being one of the reasons why getting a bank account for a casino may prove difficult in the first place.

So if you're serious about this and intend to stay on the right side of the law -- get a professional. Best case someone who actually specializes in gambling law. You'll probably end up off-shore either way though.

This would be the best thing to do which consult a lawyer and do ask advise related to this matter.Running up a gambling site specially on US would be somehow pointless,why? As being said you cant still legally serve US costumers. Most people dont know on whats the view of US government towards this matter, hopefully there would be a lawyer who do reside on US which would make clarifications on here. Cool

It looks to me like it's in a gray area. Taking sports bets on a US based server seems to be explicitly illegal, and other forms are implied and/or assumed to be.¹

Some sources say operating a gambling website within the US is outright illegal.²

Old FBI article (2007) says it's illegal.³

I am not an US citizen,but US already legalized the crypto sites so it will not be a problem there if you create a gambling related service there.BUt each countries have different requirements for gambling so you make sure you meet all of them to run your service without any legal problem.

Alright, long story short, I am in the United States.

I am looking to create a gambling site involving Crypto. Would this be a legal operation in the United States? I have just read the current US laws revolving around this, as I am not a lawyer, and from my understanding, this would be okay, as long as I do not include a sportsbook option, as the code only specifically prohibits the taking of sports bets and not casino bets? Also, because crypto is not related to a bank, so there is no worry with this?
