Another factor that will push Ethereum this year will be a change towards proof of shares. it will make Ethereum (ETH) one of the most scalable blockchain in the smart contract space. Imagine this, in the past, Ethereum had achieved an assessment of more than $ 1000 even with all its scalability problems. How many more will go up after applying Casper and become very scalable?

Most ICOs you're actually funding the development of a company, however rather than getting shares in the company as per an IPO, you only receive a fraction of the total supply of the ICO, which for the most part are hoped to increase in value. I don't know of any cases where you can actually directly invest ETH into the company itself, like a cash injection, though I have seen some game providers offering something slightly similar.

If that's the case then why you open a topic and asking a question if and why?
You want someone to give you his funds by a "loan" without giving him any collateral and you name it "angel investor"...

I suggest to lock your topic and move on. You don't offer anything here, not even a plan/project.

This isn't a new issue of concern. Many people are always looking for where to get loans without the readiness to pay interest, not to talk of keeping any collateral. But he says he isn't looking for someone to give him money, maybe he just fansies use discusing a topic he created. Meanwhile I guess someone out here would find this topic interesting. .

Exactly, this is something I want to discuss. You don't need to have the money to discuss your thoughts on it. Though it's more informing to the conversation if you do. Angel investing does include a return usually more than interest.

Your both right in that there usually isn't collateral (unless you count company shares, which can be represented in crypto pretty easily) but investing in an ICO doesn't have collateral either.

This is where people might discuss it., since I need people who are interested in economics, start up companies and crypto currency.

No, I don't want someone to give me any money, I'm not asking for money, I'm asking for people who are intersted in discussing this topic. ICO investors and angel investors have similar risk profiles. The first are a lot more prevalent in Europe than the latter, I wonder why and they isn't there more of a cross over between the two. I'm asking simply because I'm curious.

It's a discussion around a hypothetical crypto security. It's not a loan without collateral. Angel investing has collateral in the forms of shares (or convertible notes, safes) secured on a company. Now I am aware companies may have a zero value

I appreciate your suggestion, I wonder if this thread might be better moved elsewhere if the securities board is inappropriate for a securities discussion. I'm looking to discuss if anyone has novel or interesting ideas (or examples) around an intersection of crypto, DAO and angel investing.

Your right I'm not offering a plan or a project. I'm just offering what I hoped was an on topic discussion and theory around securities and crypto.

No, it's called angel investing, it's been around long before ICOs, most importantly it is a security (most ICOs are not) though some are so it could have ICO like properties or be a hybrid, but it would probably be closer to a DAO. I could set  up an example on ropstein to show people what I mean.

Depends on the size honestly.

Isn't that the same as investing into an ICO?

It's essentially the same function of doing an ICO. You're raising money for the purposes of reinvesting it into your company.
If the main concern was transaction fees and liquidity you could easily use altcoins..
I don't think someone investing a significant sum would be concerned about a few satoshis of fees that bitcoin currently has..

Would you invest ETH  in a company? If so why or why not?

Imagine you had BTC or some other crypto you were willing to place in escrow, you could use it to borrow ETH or other crypto and invest (highly risky) in a company/private placement pre-ICO which could then be used to fund development

Why ETH?

Lower transaction fees and higher liquidty, allows BCH,ETH and LTC to be useable for striaght purcharses for supplies. WHilst the wide number of utilty tokens most purcharsable for ETH can provide lower transaction fees. Instead of cashing out BTC,then paying for server time, the startup can change ETH for utilty tokens for the cloud. The blockchian means you can easily see payments.
