The transition will, IMHO, happen quite quickly once a certain threshold is reached. We can see platforms being developed now that are designed to integrate crypto into everyday life. Once these new platforms (eg. Plaak) develop a strong following, traditional financial sectors will begrudgingly have to get on board, if they want to stay relevant. I am sure we will use it on daily basis in near future. But it will take time I mean some countries will adopt or some will not but there can not be any time frame it can be done in 5 years or more/less time no specific time period for this. When maximum will accept it then this will certainly become a very important element of economic growth and we will get more investors for bitcoin. I am not convinced for worldwide adoption and legalzation, because until now many countries are refusing cryptocurrency to flourish in their country. Maybe for now they are still comfortable with using physical money or paper money. But for the next few years about the next 20 years cryptocurrency will be accepted by many countries or probably also they will make own digital money, who has a centralized system so as them can manage their digital currency. Basing on topic and question I think that your just a newbie to the situation of the world of crypto which is the era of technology in which it is already with us and some are using it right now for their daily living like us here Filipinos who is now in use of daily transactions of paying bills that is
COINS.PH that we can pay bills:

I strongly believe cryptocurrency will be used for future transactions if we're looking at 20+ years. Our monetary system as it is is a sham, a fraud and a huge mess. I think a lot of people underestimate the profoundness of something like Bitcoin.

They definitely will be, I was surprised when I saw that I can pay my order in one online store by btc or eth. And my order consisted of toddler diapers. So I guess we will be able to buy everything soon.

This really is the question of which countries is going to allow crypto adoption. But surely you can even now buy things with crypto, mostly online tho but still you can. If we continue to have exponential growth and if governments allow this of course, we could be looking in lets say 5years time to have many merchants who accept crypto.
