If we see a price-cutting of 80% of its assets, but do not sell, we have not lost. Yes, we risk remaining eternal holders of some coins. 80% is almost everything. If the money that we could have lose, then the sell now looks silly. If all holders understand this, then whales will not be able to accumulate sufficient volumes to control the market.

I'm not going to sell anything from my eth or BTC on current prices) At all... even if it goes to zero. Noone will get my crypto at such prices) So banks can't rule here if everyone will do the same;)
Keep on holding, it isn't a good idea to sell now if we don't see any coins yet that can help to recover or be a substitute to earn a profit or to earn the loss amount if ever we sell it.  Then better wait.

I don't know why some people are bent on criticizing institutional investors, they have lost more than small investors interms of their percentage loss. I believe it is this institutional funds that drove the market up last year, seen they too were being fooled by some of these investors and entered into the market at ridiculous valuation, they started cutting some of their losses which trigger the bear market

For sure! or not?

IMO we have two possible scenarios. Nothing in between and only those scenarios.

1. btc will see second huge pump (as '14) and after wait for mass adapotion
2. btc already seen main bubble for this time and we have further bear for 1-2 years until mass adoption?

What do you reckon?
Shall we jsut take profits and leave now even if we lost 80% of gains but still in profit. Or shall we wait and risk to loose all?

Maybe you have an idea how it will play out.

I do not trust this market situation. It seems as big players are loading up and small players leave. if this happens cryptocurrency will not be ruled by the people but the banks again.

FUCK!
That is what I have also see.  Bitcoin may not perform very well until we have adoptions and we may have that in years to come.  If that did not happen then expect a continue descending price movement.  It might not take up to 2 years but I think in few months to come we may have very serious adoptions.

FUCK!

Just wait until things get oversold before you buy that way there's much less chance of walking away with a loss on your investments

Lots of top alternatives are relatively cheap right now if you're looking at a 6-12 month period or more

I'd rather lose it all than get out of an 80% of my entire holdings being at lose. If I am gonna lose it, so it be. Why did I have the courage? I have not but I make ahead of my fears before my bravery. Most of the people that makes profit are the ones who takes most risks, and I am sure I am one of those people. If market manipulation is still on, then we are the verge of losing here. Some folks out there quit already with major loses.

i will wait until this end off year, i have positif think about crypto if ETF decision in this end of september bring new fresh money to market, holding some cheap token/coin like pundi x, storiqa and tron if you have less money and sell in november or december.
You guys should try to remove this ETF thing or that from your head. With or without ETF, this market has been moving the way it pleases, and I really do not see ETF changing that. The only thing we might end up seeing is market being pumped just to instigate some quick movement upward for positive news and won't change the fact that the bears will use that opportunity to strike back hard again and this time lower. That is something I may see playing out with this whole expectation when relating to the ETF.

The second reason mentioned by OP actually sounds somehow reasonable and realistic even though I have not really seen predicting the future as the thing to do at any point in time.

We had the craziest movement upward in which we are correcting and we are not done yet. We might still see some movement upward as there is no doubt about that, but I do not see it lasting before the bears will take back the market and simply drive it even more lower. At this point, some may have already lost hope and then we will see the market recovering again and bouncing to new ATHs.

Probably the big players will turn the market arond all of the sudden and the madness begins all over again.

yes I am the same, I will continue to wait with strong confidence that BTC will be pumped like in 2014. Current market conditions are bad but I believe, the current poor market conditions are also influenced by big players, they have speculated the ETF's decision and they engineered the market so badly that they benefited from people who panicked
I think this is an important moment to be a lesson, so are not affected by the popes who manipulate market prices,
and exactly what you say, we must always think positively, and don't panic easily so the popes cannot monopolize.

One of the errors in your scenarios is that they both end in BTC "mass adoption."

For BTC, or any coin or token to be accepted universally, it will have to have some utility, among other things.

Bitcoin's main utility is as a vehicle for speculation. It will never be accepted as a universal medium of exchange in its current form.

For any cryptocurrency to be universally accepted it will have to possess certain features. Transaction speed, economy, and ability to settle micropayments are among those features. As of now, BTC can claim none of them, and therefore will never reach "mass adoption" relying on current technology.

Bankers are manipulating the crypto market to buy cheap before they go up a lot. If you are holding lots of crypto, just hold and wait till the new bull market. If you are a risk taker, you can even put in a portion of your monthly salary and buy bitcoin. Bitcoin will surely go up in the next decade but nobody knows the timing when it will go up huge.

I certainly really want that bitcoin would cost much more, but I objectively look at the price. This year there will be no strong growth. Although it all depends on us, on investors. If suddenly there are such rich investors who are willing to buy bitcoins in large quantities, then the price will grow. And while opinion is mixed.

Cryptocurrencies can be ruled by the people whoever have the best trust and faith on it. Others will be fall down for sure many times I have noticed that traders and newbie investors being panic and sell it.
But the fact they can make money and loose that opportunity. May be in some months bull run starts and it will show its power harder here.

And it was supposed to be the other way around. I remember when the big drop from $20k to $10k happened, people were saying that it's a good thing, because the whales will probably not risk it and get their investments our, while individual investors will be able to profit and get fair stakes. Perhaps now the whales have the great opportunity to buy the coins and we as crypto members have to support our market by at least not giving them our shares if not aquire some more. But don't worry, even if bitcoin will mainly be managed by whales, there are still endless other crypto opportunities, so decentralization is bound to win anyway if people really show interest in such an outcome.

Yes, if you lose up to 80% I don't care because it's a personal mistake with a very wrong step and not a market mistake, this condition is like a test for certain people who want to survive and he will win, and don't worry the value will go up not always down and sad, people are still talking about this but they are waiting for the right time to invest, I believe over time, mass adoption increases by itself without realizing that its value increases significantly, it all depends on you personally, because I only think of my own success.

Crypto doesn't need massive adoption to see another bull run. Think about the last one, why did it happen? Mostly demand and speculation, there weren't really good news around to push the price, the price was being pushed by people buying at any price, something like that can happen again easily, it might not but it certainly can. The only thing we need is a little push to break the downtrend, it might be in the form of good news or something else but if we get that, another bull run will surely come.

The funny think I found in this space is that, they are always looking for people to tell them what to do which is against what Crypto stands for they expect to invest today and have 10X return tomorrow, that is gambling. Your view is correct, but whales always know what to do in the Crypto market. You should know that this market is driven by sharks and most of them are whale capital. So they know when to make the price of the altcoins go up. You should trust the Blockchain technology because in the future it will apply in many things. And the price of the altcoins will rise dramatically! Grin

In some ways yes still if you don't like it then don't use their wallet or if they regulate the trading and etc.,i think example of what you ask OP is in our wallet that have btc and fiat wallet that regulated still they have permit to run here in crypto here in our country so that's not a problem and this give so much conveniece to us users of it like the transaction to pay some bills and different kind of payment method worldwide so ruled by people or not i think look at the worth of it then don't use if you don't like and find other that you like,Moreover future of crypto is unpredictable so invest a little or still try investment here

I do not like that crypto is regulated by someone, a regulator, a bank or even a great country, because all of that is against the purely crypto goal. Indeed the market situation is difficult, user confidence decreases and many problems occur. Maybe btc will rise at the end of the year or new year, but the increase is not high and low under ATH yesterday.

I believe that the market is going to go up to new ATH, some day... it may be this year or in 2 years, nobody knows. so my strategy is not to sell now, at loss. I will hold until bull market comes again, even if it means waiting for years. In my case, I don't feel under pressure, as I am not missing funds I invested into crypto. I only invested what I was ok to risk. If I sold now, I would be in red big time, but you cannot lose if you don't sell, right?

For sure!

FUCK!
