Still this field is dominated by men as you could see only few percentage of bitcoin holders as female while all others are male enthusiast. But it's really good to see that events like these are celebrated to give the importance and equal treatment in crypto space and this was really good thing by them.

In this field we don't know each other by their real name or gender and I think we should be under the bitcoin category as a community not divided or discriminated on basis of gender. To all the forum ladies also belated Happy Women's Day to all of you and seeing them progressing in this field is also amazing.
Is there a statistic for that? can you hand out the source that says more men are involved than women when it comes to btc and hodling? I think more men are risk takers so they trade instead of staying on the safer side while women are feminine and are afraid to take too much risk so they prefer hodling their bitcoins.

Yup, the reason they showcase an event like this is to remind that there are also women that are involved in cryptocurrency because most men think there aren't. Bitcoin is a global currency because it's controlled by anyone, the same thing we can apply when it comes to gender. All are the same that can use bitcoin, no one is restricted so one must not be afraid to try it.

The momentum is clearly very good, because we know that women in domestic life are the holders of an important role in managing the finances of a family, so it is appropriate that this can give women an even greater role in knowing crypto. Of course, on International Women's Day, they can organize online blockchain events, which will add insight for women.

I agree with the op that in crypto is no longer seen about gender and all have the same opportunities. In fact, the bigger role of women in it will be more perfect, because they are better financial managers than men, unfortunately the role of women is not too big in crypto compared to men, hopefully this is the time for them to play an active

What seems to me is that there are few women in this forum and there is no gender discrimination here either. The only thing is that it is practically impossible to know for sure if the person behind a nickname is male or female
From the way of posting, you can easily know if someone is a man or woman, even if that is not correct, only few people are claiming to be woman on this forum and most likely they some of them are men not women. From people that I know, I have never noticed any man among them, they are all men. The reason is that men are inborn to explore while women will follow at the back. With time, more woman will also join, the women in crypto now are increasing.
Well-spoken  @_act_ how can we differentiate a women in the forum when we are Anonymous and exit just by user name, I don't take it that there are fewer women compared to men in this forum, most especially when the forum does not have discussion for a specific sex, someone can claim to be a man but in reality it women since we are faceless in the forum belief there are more women I this forum than we assume and so many of them may not border to disclose they sex.

That is, by the way, happy women's day to all the women in arrears, let's keep celebrating the women in cryptocurrency because I know quite a lot of women who are into cryptocurrency and are doing well in trading and other activities but are not on this forum.

It’s international Women's day today. The crypto ladies league organizes her first online blockchain event to celbrate the women in the crypto space. I think it is a good development that more women are becoming aware of the opportunities in the crypto industry. Crypto doesn’t discriminate gender and I’m happy these women are coming out with a bright initiative to encourage other women. Crypto is not a manly sport it’s for all genders. Happy International women’s day!

It's important to organize such events and target groups which are underrepresented in the crypto industry, and Women's Day is a perfect day for such events. While cryptos are digital and there's no direct discrimination due to their digital nature as well as pseudonymity associated with using cryptos, the gender gap doesn't disappear, and women as well as other groups might face additional obstacles when joining the industry or even using cryptos, and the strength of these obstacles depends on the country, social status, rural vs urban area and other factors.

Women's day wishes, and this year more number of women's day celebrations were there. More organisations and groups have come forward bringing in the women. Crypto industry is something interesting, but women find it hard to be a part for few reasons. Women wants something interesting as gold ornaments, silver and other forms of valuables. Lacking this is the reason for the participation of women into crypto space. I came across another event for this women's day where the group founder have come forward with the motto of bringing 100k girls into crypto space.

Happy women's Day! It's about time the woman stand up and take action. It is a noteworthy effort that this organization has brought crypto into hearts of women. No more will the woman be content with gold and silver, but now they will be enlightened about crypto and the Blockchain. It's also interesting to know that the knowledge of Bitcoin is not limited to a sect, an age or a gender and they have decided to break out from the stereotype for which they are known and are moving forward.

It is wonderful to see that Bitcoin affects the lives of ordinary people, this conference and others, even if it is distinguished by a female presence. Dealing with the Bitcoin network is not related to age, gender or location, but merely to having the private key, regardless of who you are.
The question I have is why did they say about the Blockchain and not the Bitcoin? I do not see the real effects of the blockchain, except for NFT tokens.

Women have been stereotype to fit in certain roles that reflect their womanly traits so to speak. Women are generally  expected to be more friendly, emotional and sensitive so they are offered jobs like receptionist, Human Resources, public relations in the office. These stereotypes hold women back in the workplace.
“ Women are also more reluctant to share their ideas in group discussions on these subjects. And even when they have talent—and are actually told they are high-achievers in these subjects—women are more likely than men to shrug off the praise and lowball their own abilities.”

Totally agree,,, which is what I was pointing out at my post yesterday but I would say I do want to see more women in tech. And I know of course that part of the problem is women themselves.

And I know this is a controversial thing to say but since I already showed which side I support,,, and criticized the hiring side of it who does not give chances to women in technical roles, then I hope I can say this,,,

girls also need to want to take up education in fields they are not usually leaning towards. Construction, engineering, computer programming, etc. So mothers and fathers and teachers have a role to encourage them for this.

Actually it is a date to magnify women in their full right to get involved in what they want and remember that it has been a long and tedious process, then although it is a day to celebrate, it is also to remember that deficiencies continue to be suffered, so any scope is always admirable.

The discussion of bitcoin has no gender, one does not give more validity to an idea for coming from the female gender.

In this case they had never been prohibited from holding an event related to the crypto world, and in a certain way the news tends to be confused in that sense, and for my tastes there is some use left in the idea, implying that the crypto space is limited for women, when it really isn't like that.

I think they are behind in the idea and they should have been in the 12th crypto event, the intention is good but by doing it(8M), this is confuse people not related to the crypto space, who may think "+ 10 years of bitcoin and so far the first crypto women's event."

Come on, it is not the intention of the organization but it is certainly the type of event that allows to think about subjectivities.

when have they been denied them? it is obvious that there must be discrimination in some cases of hiring and opportunities, but I think that the crypto space is one of those niches where you can see women leading projects and supporting themselves in  job opportunities.

Yes, it is good news for women already in crypto, and it can attract more and more women to join and create new other projects. Crypto is a tool that can be used by both men and women regardless of gender. If more women can join in crypto, it will provide an opportunity for crypto to grow even better. I also know some female friends who have invested in crypto and learned a lot about crypto. For that, let's celebrate international women's day during a pandemic that still exists in many countries. Hopefully, next year, we will be in a better life.

It depends on the race, different women have different likes, I can't argue that most of them loves glittering object, but here in our place, it is different. Maybe the surroundings or the community get them to where they are. You know they like gambling here, with their amigas they called. Name the games, card, dominos, Bingos, and all sorts. I think if they were introduce to Bitcoin, they would be asking if there are gambling sites to play with BTC. Maybe they lack something to kill their time, and they are mostly staying at home and bored while their spouse are at work. I once taught my wife about crypto, but later on she decided to quit because of the price fall way back 2018 of March. Aside from that she is busy, a public servant and at the same time a business woman. I was happy when she got her first Bitcoin and held it for about 4 months, and the moment the crash happens, she got sad and decided to leave, too bad I am the only one left in the family who is crypto enthusiast.

Link does not work for me OP. Site takes too long to respond.
It works fine on my browser. Try using a different browser maybe you have too many tabs open.

Hiring girls and women only because you put them in reception or make them marketing people or PR or communications does not make you supportive of women. Because those areas are anyway dominated traditionally by women.
For example,,, I met several young girl coders and programmers who only take freelance jobs because they do not get hired full time. In my own company we have hire and fire policy and 99% are lazy guy coders who actually boasted on job interview to get the job. When we hire new girl, almost for sure she goes to admin or HR or reception "support" staff.
Tech companies are the worst at women thing IMO. Not talking about my company as the culprit of course,,, but in general.
Hope that events like these can remind the male egos in crypto to think about this Wink

Crypto doesn’t discriminate gender and I’m happy these women are coming out with a bright initiative to encourage other women.

Of course, crypto does not discriminate between genders. It is a neutral thing. Whether you are a woman, man, tall, short, fat or skinny, you can enter the crypto world. What seems to me is that there are few women in this forum and there is no gender discrimination here either. The only thing is that it is practically impossible to know for sure if the person behind a nickname is male or female (or gender fluid etc).

I support women day and women empowerment and et cetera but personally,,, I think all the time I see crypto women and crypto this and that with girls,,, very few of them are about real empowerment and support.

Hiring girls and women only because you put them in reception or make them marketing people or PR or communications does not make you supportive of women. Because those areas are anyway dominated traditionally by women.

Much respect to all of the women in this space (except the scammers like that OneCoin woman lol).

I also have a few beautiful friends and business connections from the Philippines and other parts of the world who are organizing both physical and virtual crypto and blockchain-related events. Women are evolving in this space despite that the crypto and tech-related world are dominated by men. Their intelligence and skills (along with the power of beauty) could really prove that they can do what men can do in this space.

I’ve seen more and more women who are founders and CEOs of their respective crypto and blockchain space, and there is no stopping them from making a huge difference.

That is just lovely. I hope that more and more such acceptance will come forward throughout the world. There are still many countries who are not in the favour of women and work or giving them freedom to get into outer world rather than home. Im just so happy to see such event being hosted somewhere and crypto space is helping them to showcase that "limitless" nature true to the mark.

Crypto space is symbol of freedom anyways. When Mr. Satoshi did invent it, they had thought of free economy, free and limitless exchanges with ownership of an individual.

So let just consider that this even has made more liberations with the women empowerment through this event and more to come.

Ots a good thing to motivate and encourage our women in doing better in bitcoin involvements, as cryptocurrency is not only meant to be one sided or gender base, lets encourage them and make this year a turnaround era to double in numbers of active women in bitcoin world.

Is it really necessary to try to "motivate" women specifically though? If a person is interested in bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general, that person will participate — regardless of gender. Like, literally nothing is stopping anyone.

it's good, I don't know how much percentage of women using crypto? because the ladies are very consumptive than men.  May be rare to keep hold of for a long time.
