What's the point on this "crypto"? It has the value of a dollar, is not decentralized, has no inflation and it is owned by a major financial institution.

Decentralization wont really be fitted into this one and reading up on the link it clearly states or shows this Circle USD Coin. The new currency is basically a digital version of the dollar that you’ll be able to purchase by trading in, you know, real money. where this is just simply a fiat(dollar) which is on digital version. I dont know whats on their minds why they do call it as a cryptocurrency. lol

So it seems no differences of debit card and very unlikely to a decentralized cryptocurrency which inflation is very often, if you are holding this coin ( usd coin) you are just like holding a fiat money deposited in the bank, I don't think this will hit the market since this is centralize coin.
