Here's one: CryptoScamAlert
- Ann thread

Few other websites worth mentioning [apart from what TheUltraElite mentioned: badbitcoin.org]:

- Deadcoins
- BitcoinAbuse
- ScamAlert
- BitcoinWhosWho
Here are more i have come across over the years
- Cryptoscamdb -  Used by Metamask extension to detect phishing and scam sites to warn users
- Bl4nkcode.info -  Scam busting activities seemed to have stopped in June last year. Not sure if it's owned by @bl4nkcode  Grin, If so, maybe he can shade light on what it takes to set up a scam busting website.
- Shitcoinoffering - In depth and sometimes hilarious analysis of scam projects. Last active in July 2019 but the rep profile of the website in this forum was last active in April 2020
- Cryptochainuni.com
- Cryptoscamalert - Still very active

ICOEthics used to also have a website that had information about scams but it's now down (https://icoethics.com/). ICOEthics has also been inactive in the forum since July 06, 2019

Is there a legit one out there, perhaps ran by forum members or people that members here could vouch for?  Thanks

Take note: I'm not vouching but some of these might come in handy.

Why would funding be a necessity for sites like this? Websites can be opened and hosted for free right? Sure they won't be great, but would a top tier platform/host really be needed?
Sure, you can have a free domain/hosting but all of them come with a limit that you'll surely hit within days of using it for such thing.
- You don't have to use a top tier host, a normal one would be fine [it's all about the right hosting plan].

Great points by TheUltraElite.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
Few problems that such "groups" have are what I have seen myself as:

1. Legitimate scam hunters ending up getting threatened by some leverage and getting forced to stop their operations.

2. Although everyone wants to know if something is a scam or not, nobody is going to pay or donate to the cause. Cost of running a server mounts up against scam hunting being a hobby and thus not getting time, of course most people are having some day job.

3. Some reports are often biased and actually smear campaigns to extort a legitimate business. It is not easy to differentiate without spending a lot of time, essentially doing the whole work yourself, so they become a waste of time for the viewer.

Some websites like badbitcoin are useful though, but use is limited to mostly HYIPs for that site.

All in all, I prefer to use my own judgement more than listening to someone else. After all I am responsible for my money and for that I use some tools that my folks taught me a long time back: Never be greedy about anything.

It's a shit ton of work, that's for sure.

I have no idea who those services are that I tried to help out with at this point.  Was 3-4 years ago. They all were a joke.

Maybe a group of people here who actively scam bust can work on a site together?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  Why would funding be a necessity for sites like this? Websites can be opened and hosted for free right? Sure they won't be great, but would a top tier platform/host really be needed?

I have helped build websites before. Though let me be clear, I can't code a single line. However I can be taught to ..I don't know what it's called, but it's kinda of like coding where you're using formulas and what not to build the site.  I would stay active on it. Help w/inquiries etc.

I gave up the search for such a service. Serious scam hosting requires a lot of work, and it is very difficult to find a legal stable source of funding for that type of service. at some point, take the money in exchange for withdrawing negative rating, that is where any credibility of such a service ends.

OP, can you post here services which you know, perhaps further discussion may lead to some solution.

I was just curious if anyone knows of a good website/group that is actively researching /exposing/data logging in a clear and easy to understand fashion.  I used to send scam info to a few out there, joined discord groups etc..but I pretty much just ran in to lazy websites/groups that were half ass and more so created/running as an ad revenue generator or they just were lazy. When sharing info I'd maybe get a "thanks" and that was always it.  No follow ups, no use or notation of my findings, questions etc.  They didn't really give a shit is my point.

Is there a legit one out there, perhaps ran by forum members or people that members here could vouch for?  Thanks
