He keeps bringing up that point throughout his threads.

Some people just don't understand that Bitcoin's energy consumption isn't waste. How can keeping a network secure with several billions worth of transaction value per day be a waste of resources?

Oh. He's probably simply against PoW then.

I can kind of sympathize with their concerns. Mining using up the amount of energy that it does isn't a very ideal situation, and I do feel like we should be on the lookout for alternatives. The problem is that there's really none at the moment. Using something else at this point would compromise the security of the network and would likely create a rift within the community. We don't really have a choice but to live with PoW until the we can find an algorithm that can be agreed on. The energy consumption argument has been blown way out of proportion anyway -- I'm just saying we should be improving where we can.

Either way, waste is defined as:

to consume, spend, or employ uselessly or without adequate return; use to no avail or profit; squander

Miners are profiting from their activities so what they're doing can't be considered wasteful. The proper term would probably be resource-intensive.

Cryptocurrencies make some rich people richer...
Cryptocurrencies make some rich people poorer..
Cryptocurrencies make some poor people richer..
Cryptocurrencies make some poor people poorer.

It's not a one-sided effect, it's varies a lot.

You should know how much you can invest money in any of the investment products. I didn't understand how poor will become even poor because when you invest you should put only a small amount of your extra money not everything you have in your account. If one blindly invest money then surely they will lose money otherwise crypto has given a chance for poor people can earn a better profit if they can afford to buy some good coins and hold them for long.

Crypto will likely underdog the arrogant stockmarkets and the billionaires, that abuse people there as money earning cattle, then coroporations will truly serve the people instead of serving the rich and the banksters.

Companies will have no clear national currency that is secretly controlled by secret societies.

it will be decentralised and the companies will help the cryptoeconomy to develop the economy again.

but ressource waste will be a huge taboo in that new world and so will bitcoin.
This is very funny, I just kept laughing what you’re saying here. Man seriously, you’re confused. Who told that cryptocurrency is making the poor richer than the rich? I don’t know where you came up with that idea, although one thing I like about Cryptocurrency is that everything is balanced and there is opportunity for everyone no matter who you are, you just need to find. But the rich guys can manipulate cryptocurrency a lot and withdraw big money.

You went way too far on your twisted anti-rich vision. Stop being so classist and start thinking as an individual. You should aspire to be successful, not to bring others down.

I don't think that all the libertarians are actually against the "evil" corporations and the "selfish" rich people.

Of course not.

If we discard all the conspiracy theories regarding corporations and focus on facts only, then the main thing the average joes and the governments don't like is how they legally use various loopholes in the system to significantly lower their tax exposure. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. I would do the exact same thing in order to protect my revenue and profits. Seriously, no one has the right to claim anything that's yours by force.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that locally more and more (mainly smaller) businesses pop up accepting cash only. It's done for a reason.

Should we similarly consider the financial system's energy consumption waste? It's not waste when the entire world is depending on it, which applies to Bitcoin's network as well. People need to grow up for once.

Miners are paying for their energy consumption, so how is it waste anway? If that's considered waste, then I'm quite sure that we at home combined actually waste more energy than anything else in the world.

Reading what you wrote, makes it sounded like a prophecy or wish. If this is going to be taken seriously, then it needs to be supported with the "how" all of this would be achieved anything short of that is wishing and hoping someone else implement or it just happen then come back to claim the glory that "I said it and it happen".

However, in the spirit of making wishes, don't forget they the rich that this is largely against are those that would make the opportunity for the liberation of the other category of people available if they so wish. Corporations are not run by the people, its not a charitable organization for it to be accountable to the masses. Its for the interest of those who are able to take the risk in establishing them and their interest would continue to be protected.

Even i think that cryptocurrency has the strong potential to underdog the stock market and make the rich servants again as right now companies are interested in the developing the cryptomarket using decentralised technology and i think this decentralized things is the major reason for making the rich servants again.

All I can really say about the subject is that money speaks. It's always said that Bitcoin whales, to some degree, are capable of controlling the market. Taking advantage of that is no different from traditionally rich people making money off the poor, right? There's been evidence of manipulation in the past and it can't be ruled out even today, so it could be said that the crypto rich are not much different from other rich.

The only way your scenario will happen is if fiat devalues to zero (this can't happen overnight) and these people just sat on their thumbs while watching it happen.

What does that have to do with resource waste though?

What the hell are you talking about?  As far as I know the rich even getting richer due to cryptocurrecies.  The poor don't even know and didn't want to know about crypto.

I believe it's more of a combination... There are rich people getting a lot richer due to cryptocurrencies, but also a lot of poor people who are getting richer because of cryptocurrencies.

Of course, a lot of people didn't want to know and still don't want to know about cryptocurrencies, that there are a lot of richer people who also don't care a lot about the cryptoworld...
Some rich people also lost a lot of money on cryptocurrencies, so it's really a bit of everything...

Cryptocurrencies make some rich people richer...
Cryptocurrencies make some rich people poorer..
Cryptocurrencies make some poor people richer..

Another great quality easy to read topic! Roll Eyes

Do you think what the rich do know? There is nothing changing, if they most are not involved in the crypto, they will not be poor but miss the money.

They will just miss out on profit.

The crypto economy is not a socialist dream. It's a libertarian dream.Less government control, less taxation, having a currency that is free from central banks control. Those are all libertarian ideas.

tact the world will be more decentral and the established billionaires lose a lot of power also within their companies to their workers.
They might lose a lot of power but I think established billionaires will still be rich even if that happens. Also, I don't think corporations will truly serve the people, they will still serve the rich people with money(in form of crypto) and cater to their needs even if that time comes.
Do you really think that crypto will hamper or even put a scratch over the stock market at all?
Personally, I think the two might coexist but I think crypto will be able to put a scratch over the stock market if ever both cannot coexist with each other.

I dont understand why the crypto currencies will underdog the stock market because its not the thing that is re-placebale! The stock market is really huge and it runs by trillions dollar investment every year and I guess in front of the crypto currencies this market is really huge. Do you really think that crypto will hamper or even put a scratch over the stock market at all? The crypto is able to make people rich no matter what if they are in line with the investment and strategies they are applying. But frankly that will also need huge efforts and time to be spent over it. So in short there are still pros and cons about this theory mate.

i explain you.

cryptocurrencies will collapse the trust into the american banking cartels, that currently only give power(money) to the established superrich and deliver the population to the as money earning cattle,

with crypto intact the world will be more decentral and the established billionaires lose a lot of power also within their companies to their workers.
