I just came across what's going to become a huge phenomenon on Youtube (pretty sure):  AI-generated vocals by dead rock stars.  It absolutely blew my mind when I stumbled upon a bunch of these new songs being sung by Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley, lead singers of Nirvana and Alice in Chains, respectively.  Not going to bother linking to them, since they're probably before the time of many of you here, but that's the first example of something incredible that AI can do.
80s and 90s song is the song I grew up in so I don't think your implied statement that no one will know them isn't inherently true, I'm a Nirvana In Utero guy though. The most awesome thing I've heard about the utilization of AI was using it to replace Val Kilmer's voice in Top Gun: Maverick since he's become mute due to cancer.
Anyway, that might have been just a wee bit off-topic, but I thought I'd share my thoughts on an AI-related subject.  I'm still of the opinion that we're all going to be screwed because of it, but I'm going to enjoy a few of its more interesting aspects while we're all still above ground, not having to hide from Skynet drones.
I don't think we will see an AI invasion like the Terminator one, maybe the AI taking over our jobs, that's the real invasion. Didn't someone already created a Seinfeld comedy gig using AI already? I forgot which platform it was streaming though.
I agree with The Sceptical Chymist because when Al is used to modified the original song the voice would be automatically replay to the owner's voice so as that it would be very difficult for listeners to identify the original singer of the music.
And from your last comment you also agreed with The Sceptical Chymist again and that means your first encounter became nullified.

Admittedly, some of the songs were kind of not well done, but I'd imagine as AI improves you wouldn't even notice a difference between an AI-generated song vs. one sung by the great Layne Staley himself.

Bitcoin Bottom was at $15.4k
It's exciting that a Hollywood movie will be picking up the most interesting topics of 2023, Cryptocurrency and Artificial Intelligence and maybe that becomes the whole Unique Selling Point for their movie? I mean they are doing it for their own benefit too, instead of promoting Crypto or AI? I haven't watched Tom's movie in years however I would watch this one if they are going to talk about Bitcoin more and less about shitcoins like Doge and trying to integrate it with Elon MUSK.

The entertainment industry and the film industry are extremely influential and have a wide audience. and whatever the context, the film could arouse the interest and curiosity of viewers in these technologies (cryptocurrency and AI) in a fun and accessible context.

but more than that I think that this film could break with some stigmas and negative perceptions that surround cryptocurrencies, presenting them as something exciting and full of possibilities. It could foster a more open mind towards these technologies and allay the fear or uncertainty that some people may have due to a lack of understanding.

I haven't watched this movie, but I'm sure that the bad guys will be the ones using crypto. Grin The good guy will stick with fiat money. Hollywood is a part of the establishment. You can't escape the matrix. Grin
I also don't believe that a movie could break stigmas and negative perceptions that surround cryptocurrencies. This is just a movie...
Do you think that some crypto haters are going to watch this movie and become fanatic crypto supporters afterwards? Hell no.
I'm also pretty sure that this movie will fail at explaining what cryptocurrencies actually are and how they work. That's not the main subject of the movie and whoever created the movie script won't care that much about explaining the core principles of crypto.

My opinion is, this is just marketing to attract the attention of those people who are interest  in Crypto and obviously who is interested in Crypto is also interested in AI too. So, the current trend is of both things and which is really on hype. And i think if the movie intend to cover them then this is good for crypto. Because this will create an image of how crypto and AI will be used to revolutionize the Finance and other sectors of life respectively.

As the film is not released yet so how can you watch it.  Wink The image of Crypto in front of people also depend on how it is being represented in the movie and how much time it is played in the movie. Because there are many other movies too exist which had showed the use of Cryptocurrency like in the latest film Fast&Furious 10 where i watched a short clip in which they talked about crypto but only for 1 or 2 second and they said, it in a way which would create a bad image in front of those who are new to crypto.

Overall, i am excited for such news and hoping that such acts will being respect and will build trust among newcomers.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
Am yet to see the movie, but am hoping cryptocurrencies and AI is well presented that a growing toddler can easily understand it.
Some old movies had depicted the reign of robots, and we got scared when we started seeing robots replace jobs. I believe this movie wouldn't portray AI and cryptocurrency in a way that would cause panic, but the reality is that advancement in the crypto and AI field has opened opportunities for new job creation, specialization and as a source of income.

Unless one upgrades their skillset and knowledge of cryptocurrency, the possibility of earning in the nearest future may be slimmer than now when interest rates and charges are doubling up.
This movie could also help push countries to adopt cryptocurrencies as a legal tender without strict regulators clamping down on the exchanges or crypto holders.

I haven't seen the movie yet, and the articles are very vague about cryptos (perhaps because it's a new movie, perhaps to avoid spoilers). It won't be anything new if this movie mentions Bitcoin or cryptos in general, as many others have already done that, but it's a very major blockbuster, so unless it's a negative mention (cryptos being used by the bad guys), it's still great publicity. I think I've watched all the previous Mission Impossible movies, so I'll most likely watch this one as well. I'm interested in how much is about cryptos there, and what sort of perception of cryptos it puts forth.

Crypto is somewhat different from bitcoin because the movie may be all about shitcoin which will ultimately not have any significant impact on crypto adoption but if it is focused on bitcoin then we must say that the movie will be a blast and somewhat promote the cutting edge technology that has been suitable for over a decade.

But all the same, the movie will give crypto a mainstream promotion since the first mission impossible was heavily watched and many also becoming actor fans who are looking out for his next big work.

If this film mentioned Bitcoin then we could add them here: [Collection Thread] Series and films in which Bitcoin (or Altcoins) appear.

But regardless if it will break stigmas and negative perception about crypto, for me it doesn't matter. And FUD and negative things won't simply go away just because of some movies. It's better to accept that we will have critics and detractors in our market. And the sooner that we welcome that, the better for us. And for sure, majority of us are not affected by the dissenting opinions of others.
Don't expect too much regarding breaking stigmas, I am pretty sure that the writers behind it are going to use bitcoin as an evil mcguffin if not as a means to an evil scheme. Can't blame them though, it helps the plot run along just like the nanotechnology explanation for most sci-fi films. Don't underestimate the influence of movies my guy, if I recall correctly, there's a person who defected to South Korea because that person saw the movie Titanic and that person sponsored a flight to rain down flyers of the movie The Interview in North Korea to hopefully inspire some of the people there to think about freedom.

Exactly, people might still think it's just a movie so maybe some of them might change their way of thinking about crypto but of course some of them doesn't really care they would just enjoy the film. There would be always a FUD and negative opinions about Bitcoin. Since there's an upside and downside of Bitcoin due to it's volatility. As long as there's a risk involved, there would be always a thing to say. It's already good that it's open to public for them to be introduced to crypto but you are right. No matter what others comments that doesn't matter as long as we mind our own business.
What is your opinion about it?

Interesting! There used to be a lot of action movies that were all about AI. Even since the time of The Matrix where it was stated that there was a computerized intelligence entity that exceeded humanity  Cool.

I've seen a lot of AI thing in the movies but when it comes to AI, first thing that comes to my mind is the Blade Runner. It's actually good you should try watching that. It's not actually related to crypto but the AI thing which is very intelligent you will love it.

I no longer care about this effect, we have a good database on social media, and you can notice that the word bitcoin turns into a trend every few months, so the film industry resorts to using bitcoin as a new technology and something mysterious that can be used more than what was in the past, as the majority believed Bitcoin is the currency of the dark web and drugs.

What I fear most is the rush of people to buy bitcoin, which makes them an easy opportunity for scammers. Scammers are spread on the Internet and are waiting for beginners, so perhaps if these films carry out awareness campaigns, they will have a greater impact.

If this film mentioned Bitcoin then we could add them here: [Collection Thread] Series and films in which Bitcoin (or Altcoins) appear.
It's been several months since the last movie I watched, I'm going to choose one of them on the weekend.

It’s nice, but I think it’s double-edge for now. Don’t celebrate too early as they say, right? We don’t know yet what light they’re gonna put crypto in. Could be positive, could be negative.

Although I have a feeling they’re gonna put AI in a positive light and crypto in a negative one. So far, the closest thing I got to this was a few recent movies where an actor at one point says something like “I will pay in Bitcoin”. Nothing more, nothing less.

OP, you said you’re excited about the way it can change how crypto’s perceived. I’m not, because we know how the wealthy want us to perceive crypto!

The language is a little different from the articles given by OP, this is the link source so we can understand better in English here in this movie for sure it will hit people. We know that all the movies made by Tom Cruise really make a lot of money.

Now, here in the movie will surely be a blockbuster again, based on this story that is related to AI technology, it was mentioned that the opponents of Tom Cruise made a big transaction worth 100M$ using cryptocurrency not Bitcoin, it seems the villain is doing money laundering via crypto, and I just don't know if it's Ethereum or what. This Tom Cruise movie is a little different now. As far as I know, this actor besides Keano Reeves also holds Bitcoin, I just don't know what year Tom Cruise started buying Bitcoin.

Films that include crypto currency I don't think I have found yet ( And thanks to Baofeng who has provided a link to the list of films that contain the cryptocurrency theme in it..  Grin) But speaking negatively or positively, I think it's like there's going to be a threat using blockchain technology for anonymity. Sorry if it offends but usually a new technology will be considered as a dangerous technology that is contested by the enemy and the protagonist tries to save the world by taking over the technology. It's the same as the eyes of the gods in Fast Furious, isn't it?  Grin

Wow! Didn’t know there was an existing thread for that on the forum. Still a great material source for sure even with one yet to watch.

Still, it doesn’t matter much if cryptocurrency was or is being used but the most importance is the context to the usage. The context that is being put to it defines just how the audience would perceive the innovation.

Tom Cruise is a great actor, one of the best and have stared in key roles in several box office movies and this is another big one but, I do hope it carries the right notion about cryptocurrency. My feelings isn’t so good about this but, hope that’s an having the wrong idea.

I just came across some somewhat peculiar news and that is that the well-known actor Tom Cruise, famous for his starring role in "Mission Impossible", brings us a new action... let's say an action related to our current times that is nothing more and nothing less than cryptocurrencies and the cutting edge of artificial intelligence.
Quote
Mission Impossible (Dead Reckoning Part One), one of the most anticipated movies of 2023, promises to be an exciting crossover of trends, exploring two of the most prominent themes of recent years: cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence.
Figure: Tom cruise mission Impossible 7.

This film that relates to new technologies, I think it has the opportunity to change the way people see and use cryptocurrencies in general. Honestly, I don't know in what context these issues are related in the film, whether in a positive or negative way, since I haven't had the joy of seeing it yet. but what I do know and I am sure is that without a doubt The entertainment industry and the film industry are extremely influential and have a wide audience. and whatever the context, the film could arouse the interest and curiosity of viewers in these technologies (cryptocurrency and AI) in a fun and accessible context.

but more than that I think that this film could break with some stigmas and negative perceptions that surround cryptocurrencies, presenting them as something exciting and full of possibilities. It could foster a more open mind towards these technologies and allay the fear or uncertainty that some people may have due to a lack of understanding. Personally, I don't know what you guys think, but I find it intriguing that they're producing movies related to this field on the big screen. What is your opinion about it?
