My opinion: Dogecoin is a joke. It brings no benefit to mankind that Bitcoin didn't already introduce, and we're better without it than with it (bigger network effect for Bitcoin). The fact that it has some limited success shows is clear evidence that society doesn't rewards those who benefit society, but those that have good marketing and appeal to the stupidity of the masses.

Actually, no... Dogecoin have done a lot more for the people in need, more than any altcoin or even Bitcoin.

Not bad for a "joke" currency.

They have a nice community. I hope it grows even more.  And if it takes a "joke" currency as a medium to reach and help people, then so be it.

There is no real difference between Dogecoin and Litecoin other than branding, and tweaks to parameters.

Money is about liquidity... not "tweaks for geeks".

LTC has about 20 times the daily volume of DOGE...
And this does not mean trading or scalping or pointless block masturbation like many PoS coins...
It means people actually conducting commerce (moving money) in LTC.

There are literally 100s of payment processors in Asia, Middle East, and Africa...
And they ALL process BTC and LTC (and there is no universal 3rd coin, XRP mostly only on Ripple network)...
If you need to send $50,000 to anyone, anywhere... you can only use BTC or LTC.

Amazingly, there is no 3rd option yet... this is wide open for some new coin.

Why then do you indicate that Litecoin has value in one post, but dismiss Dogecoin in another?  Clearly you dislike the Doge brand.

One cannot refute the fact that Dogecoin has network effect and is being used as a currency, regardless of how it achieved this.

Personally I don't see a lot of potential in either Doge or Litecoin, as they are both just minor tweaks on bitcoin.  The true potential lies in either Bitcoin's market effect, or in 2.0 coins with many new features.

Of course, according to your rules in your other thread such as no IPOs, you have pretty much rejected all of the promising 2.0 coins in existence.  It takes developer time to build these projects, and that means they need some funding to get off the ground.  Of course, some IPO coins were scams, that is not to be denied, but that doesnt mean EVERY one was a scam.   Some used the money to hire developers and build a piece of software.  That is completely legitimate imo, people invested in software projects.

Apart from Bitcoin, which cryptocurrencies are being accepted by significant organizations (not just insiders of that currency) in exchange for goods or services?.

I have seen that Litecoin is accepted in some non for profit organizations, and a few cryptocurrency-specifc auction sites. What others?.
