I have been using many of these sites permanently to investigate the prices of many currencies, but during this time I am using a site https://cointelegraph.com/?utm_source=web_app_manifest It is an excellent site and provides us with prices and market movement with great accuracy

OP did not make any edit and update the list. Pretty sure it was really good list and taken from the website that it was been publish. However, I am only having one site known to check crypto market price. I had only coinmarketcap.com. I do not know why I only use this site for cryptocurrency price check but since that coinmarketcap.com is also good site for updates and it shows red and green all the basics that a user holding crypto can use especially in comparing the price of the crypto from the past to present.

There are many sites now that can help one on what he wanted to know. The basic of all is to use google account where all sites are linked and then you can just browse whatever caught your attention and then visit the site for more information you wanted to learn or search.

Aside from the given of the other members I also want to share the platform that I'm always using to check the market price of the coin which is these platform.

https://coinranking.com/

Also, I want to use the binance to checking the price of the coin but for me it's more convenient with the use of their application.

I was only thinking that we only have Coinmarketcap and Coingecko without knowing that, there are others you can use to check cryptocurrency price. Thanks for sharing anyway. Will try and compare them with coinmarketcap to see the difference

This list could help some people who wanted to see the update of the price of the coins they currently hold. they can choose a variety of lists to check the price of their coins. these will also make the Coincapmarket load faster because they will be getting a few people accessing their site. There is also something they can get used when they wanted to see the withdrawal fees on the exchanges I listed some of the exchanges transaction fees on my thread maybe this will also can help them.

My all time favorite is www.preev.com - I have been using this since 2014-15.
Although it doesn't have all the cryptocurrencies listed, still it's very simple.
I used to check the prices using Preev years ago, but I found out that the price over there isn't as accurate as CMC's. It's better to have the price average from many sources than from only 1-4.

Today I'm using CoinMarketCap, the one +95% use. Can't deny how useful it is with all the data they have acquired over the years.

Perhaps you can add this website to your list. https://www.livecoinwatch.com/
That website has been active (if i'm not mistaken) since 2017. They are quite active for updating crypto news through their twitter account.

I prefer using multiple exchanges where I have my account and use them for trading. In my opinion you should use these websites only to check coin/token matrix in case if you are planning to invest in a new cryptocurrency.

For price checking there are many apps available to check and analyse your portfolio.

CMC power is so strong that coin developers list their coin on CMC before adding it to an exchange.
I am pretty sure that the quoted part is not correct. I remember reading about their listing requirements in the past. To be listed on CMC your coin has to be publicly traded on an exchange with a decent daily trading volume. I am not sure of the volumes but the info can probably be found in CMC docs.
Yes, coinmarketcap seems to have quite a few criteria for listing a coin / token:

Quote from: coinmarketcap
Note that these are just the minimum requirements and meeting them does not guarantee a listing.
(1) Cryptoassets

For a cryptoasset to be considered for a tracked listing, it must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Leverage cryptography, consensus algorithms or distributed ledgers, peer-to-peer technology and/or smart contracts to function as a store of value, medium of exchange, unit of account, or decentralized application.
  • Must have a functional website and block explorer.
  • Must be traded publicly, and actively traded on at least one (1) exchange (with material volume) that has tracked listing status CoinMarketCap.
  • Provide a representative from the project with whom we can establish open lines of communication for any clarifications.

But there are still more points, the ones above are only the minimum requirements. Here are more details from coinmarcetcap, it's a very long list: https://support.coinmarketcap.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034124351-Listings-Criteria (Section C)

For most people who are interested in cryptocurrencies, Coinmarketcap (CMC) is the default website for comparing cryptocurrency prices. You can call it the google of cryptocurrency. CMC power is so strong that coin developers list their coin on CMC before adding it to an exchange.
Default website for comparing cryptocurrency prices?
Coinmarketcap is the biggest tracker for crypto and also exchanges. No doubt of it although now,, CMC ahs a big issue from some parties because of the acquisition by Binance.
Seriously that developers can list their coin on CMC before on the exchange? Where do you find this?
One of the listing criteria to be listed on coinmarketcap is here:
Alternative crypto-comparison sites
There are actually still some more tracers that can be used. Maybe you can also add this
Openmarketcap: This tracker only uses data from the trusted exchanges in counting or listing the volume and price. So, it must be also more trusted.

For the most I use actually only Coinmarketcap and also CoinGecko. For the others, only sometimes when I need it.

If I am correct, it is not requiring too decent amount but $50000 volume within 24 hours only. Projects usually list on an exchange listed in CMC and manipulate the market to increase the volume to list them into CMC. $50k is too low in my opinion and they should change it.

I also want to add two alternatives to check crypto prices:

1. Coinlore
It functions as market analysis and crypto tracker which covers about 1,6k cryptocurrencies.

2. Coinratecap
It covers over 2k digital assets. Coinratecap has features to know “High gainers” or High losers” in the past 24 hours.

For most people who are interested in cryptocurrencies, Coinmarketcap (CMC) is the default website for comparing cryptocurrency prices. You can call it the google of cryptocurrency.

Coinmarketcap is indeed a great site, with an easy and intuitive interface. However there are more than a few good coin-tracking-sites out there, that pose an alternative. Some of them use Coinmarketcap API and others pull in their own data.

Alternative crypto-comparison sites

Coincheckup
provides all the typical data you need, and ads to it information on each coin’s average daily ROI and volatility.

Onchainfx
Onchainfx is an investor oriented site, providing a range of data metrics: Percentage of supply, ROI, historical prices. You can also compare the movement of two assets.

Coincodex
Coincodex is very similar to CMC with nice graphics. You can filter cryptocurrencies performance over a period of up to a year. Coincodex also has useful cryptocurrency guides for beginners.

Cryptocompare

Cryptocompare is a great and popular site for all things crypto: Cryptocurrencies and exchanges rankings, Filtering coins, mining information and reviews. There’s also an active forum.

Bitinfocharts
Bitinfo displays the number of transactions sent and their average value for all the major cryptocurrencies. You can also find block and wallets info, including wealth distribution.

Coingecko
Coingecko is another CMC look a like website, but adds some unique features like the ability to filter cryptocurrencies based on their hashing algorithm, and a list of upcoming ICOs.

Coincap
Coincap.io is a comparison site that differs from CMC in that it updates coin prices in real time. If you want that kind of second-by-second accuracy it’s the site for you.

Coinlib
Coinlib is a generic crypto comparison site but it enables as many as four crypto assets to be compared side by side.

coinpaprika
this platform includes market overview, charts, events gainers and losers and more.

coinlore
aother relatively new site that lists over 1,600 cryptocurrencies.

coinratecap
lists over 2,000 cryptocurrencies with gainers and losers feature.

livecoinwatch
The site has been active since 2017 and tracks more than 200 currencies updated in real time every five seconds. At a glance its reminiscent of CMC and contains the same or similar features. The interface is very nice and site registration allows you to create a personal portfolio, a watchlist including currency pairs and design your landing page.

cryptowat.ch
Cryptowatch is a Kraken-owned trading terminal that provides real-time cryptocurrency market data, charting, and trading services.
The real-time data on Cryptowatch is provided directly from cryptocurrency exchanges via their APIs.
