Seems pretty useful to me, maybe I'll do something similar for my currencies. In my previous experience spreadsheets haven't been to useful for me because I spend more time updating them then using them, but I'll have to check this out and see how useful it is.
I decided to make a spreadsheet in Google Docs to help me track my various crypto-currency positions. Since it's been so helpful to me, I decided to share it here. I decided to make a clean copy and set all the quantities to "5" in order to sanitize it. If you want to use it for your own portfolio tracking, just make a copy and save it to your own Google Docs account.
Sheet 1: This is where positions are defined and quantities are updated. The price for the existing positions is pulled in from BTC-e, but can be easily updated to almost any exchange. Target percentages can be set here and then "Pct Difference" and "Unit Adj" can help you decide when to buy or sell a position.
Sheet 2: There is a decent amount of javascript that runs behind this spreadsheet to keep track of historical performance. Sheet 2 is where a nightly snapshot is written to. Each night the script runs, performs calculations, and then appends to this list in order to help with tracking your portfolio performance over time.
Sheet 3: This sheet has 4 graphs built from the data in Sheet 2. These should be self explanatory.
