Popular game CryptoFights is coming back with all-new features

Quote
FYX Gaming’s BSV blockchain-based fantasy combat game now has a new modular backend to guarantee support for future updates and faster gameplay. The item ownership system has also been completely redesigned, with a “Game Vault” for the game’s native items and a “Blockchain Vault” with multiple blockchain support for storing and trading other assets.

Once responsible for the lion’s share of daily transactions on BSV, the popular turn-based game has been offline since February 2023 to prepare for version 2.0. Players at the time had to withdraw their BSV from game wallets (but not the game’s CFS tokens), leaving some wondering when or if CryptoFights would return. However, without a definite timeline, FYX reassured them the downtime would only be temporary, and this latest announcement would reinvigorate interest in the platform.

Game and Blockchain Vaults with multi-chain support

FYX has also made the FYX Gateway to shift assets between the two vaults. Promising a “bridge between traditional gaming and full-fledged web3 experience,” FYX Gateway allows players to move items between CryptoFights’ native BSV as well as Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, Ethereum, and others. Players can store and trade assets with external services like Metamask and OpenSea.

Fees on other blockchains will be free for users (ie, covered by FYX) and transfers instant if using BSV. In a blog post published this week, the company said it understands past players are keen to start trying out the new version and promises to keep them up to date with big announcements “soon.”

“We’ve recently completed a 24-hour test on testnet for a whopping 1 million PVP battles, and we’re gearing up to conduct a similar test on the main net soon, so watch this space for more updates. On top of this, we’ve reimagined item ownership and battle registration on the blockchain, taking what we were already doing and making it even better.”

There is also a list of social media channels to follow, including Twitter, Discord, and Telegram, for those looking for the latest news.

FYX also promises big upgrades to CryptoFights’ gameplay and overall usability, saying they “cater to traditional gamers and unlock a whole new world of possibilities by seemingly blending in-game and on-chain experiences.”

FYX: ‘We’re not rushing the process’

No definite release date or a specific list of the new features is available just yet, with FYX saying, “we’re not rushing the process” and “we’re far from finished.” The team teased by saying there’d be improvements and new features in characters, enemies, quests, and leaderboards. There will also be new social features like global chat and friends lists.

In late 2022, the BSV blockchain was processing over 35 million transactions on some days, with CryptoFights responsible for most of that volume. Even without its presence, though, BSV has dominated the transaction pie charts on Bitinfocharts, with 3.47 million transactions in the past 24 hours and a 54% share of all transactions against Ethereum, BTC, and Litecoin, as well as XRP/Ripple (which is not a blockchain).

The game has gained much attention in the BSV and gaming space for its rich world design and engaging gameplay. In a way, it (temporarily) fell victim to its own success, requiring regular upgrades to keep up with the number of users, though FYX always stated they were dedicated to its long-term success and preferred to shut down to rebuild the system entirely rather than degrade players’ experience.

The game is based on Dungeons and Dragons, with dice rolls determining fight outcomes. Players also gain skills and enhance in-game items the more they play, with the BSV blockchain recording all moves and item status. The blockchain records of all game moves also serve as a fairness and anti-cheating mechanism, as all past plays/games can be analyzed later.

CryptoFights gives you the power to you buy, sell, and trade in-game items for cryptocurrency

There’s a new blockchain-based game on the way, and its developer Thoughts in Motion, Corp. promises it will break new ground in the blockchain gaming sphere.

CryptoFights is a 1vs1 action RPG that features serverless gameplay, using a sidechain to enable high performance gaming while securing game assets on the Ethereum mainchain. Think of CryptoFights as a sort of turn-based Tekken, but with additional interchangeable items like weapons and armour that give canny players a killer advantage in real time.

The game uses blockchain validation to prevent cheating. In fact, the integration of blockchain into every aspect of its game mechanics and economy makes CryptoFights by far the most ambitious blockchain gaming project we’ve come across to date.

Naturally, CryptoFights will use the latest ERC-1155 standard to mint game assets on the Ethereum blockchain. In case you’re not up on your blockchain standards, ERC-1155—created by Enjin Coin—has attracted high interest thanks to its potential to replace the creaking ERC-20 and ERC-721 token standards. More robust and flexible than its predecessors, ERC-1155 allows for fungible (“replaceable” or “interchangeable”), semi-fungible, and non-fungible tokens.

ERC-1155 also allows developers to create a single core contract for an infinite number of tokens, making it drastically more efficient than previous standards. This reduces not only the amount of code that has to be copy-pasted into every token, but the amount of actual energy needed to deploy tokens and run games

Perhaps most interestingly of all, items in CryptoFights will be backed with Enjin Coin (ENJ), a genuine cryptocurrency that players will be able to redeem by melting down their in-game items. Players will also be able to buy, sell, and trade items—represented by ERC-1155 tokens—through peer-to-peer third-party platforms.

FYX Gaming CEO Adam Kling: Players are looking for a richer experience and multiple play styles

Will the game still be free to play to start?
Adam Kling: Yes, we are looking at having 1-2 arenas/dungeons that are free to enter and have lower rewards. We will also have a new player referral system to earn FYX tokens for inviting your friends.

The white paper alludes to a swapping platform—could you elaborate on how this platform will function and if users will be able to always buy FYX token easily for BSV and vice-versa?
Adam Kling: Yes, exactly. We are working on a system that will allow the user to easily swap the FYX token with other coins including BSV. This will be part of the wallet offering of FYX.

Fine arts, metaverse fashion, digital NFT robot and more: CoinGeek Bitcade goes to Crypto Connect Expo

Quote
CryptoFights has redefined blockchain gaming, and FYX Gaming CEO Adam Kling was at Crypto Connect to talk about on-chain gaming, NFTs, and more.

As he told CoinGeek, once he told people that the entire game—not just the NFTs—was on-chain, “it blew their mind on what’s possible [with blockchain technology].”

Kling is working on CryptoFights 2.0, which he says will be “a massive expansion to the game, with a lot more content.” FYX is also developing a marketplace where users can trade the upcoming in-game token. Users can use this token to buy NFT items. Kling expects everything to launch by the end of the year.

“I’m very excited, and it’s going to be massive. We’re already on Google Play now and hope to expand to more distribution platforms as we go on and as we scale our infrastructure, that’s when we’re going to start to get really exciting. My goal is to be the biggest app on the biggest blockchain, and that’s BSV.”

Crypto Connect was dominated by NFT projects, each focusing on solving a particular challenge or opening up a new opportunity. For Joel Alvarez, the creator of the Black Tape Project, it’s all about fusing AI with blockchain. Joel has created Molly, the “world’s first NFT digital influencer. She’s not just a computer-generated digital influencer; she’s an NFT.”

By selling her NFTs, the team is raising funds which it will channel to improving her AI. Already, she’s learning how to DJ, and in five years, “she’ll be able to speak back and respond to people.”

Megan Nilsson, known to her fans as Crypto Megan, was at Crypto Connect as well. Megan is a ‘high-end crypto and NFT consultant’ who works with investors, celebrities, and companies to build their digital assets and NFT portfolios.

For companies, brands, and even artists seeking to get into NFTs but don’t know the first thing about the space, Team Wen Moon was at the event to guide them in their NFT journey. The agency, which also acts as a launchpad for NFT projects, works with its clients throughout the NFT cycle, from ideation to development and marketing.

The event attracted a horde of artists seeking to learn a thing or two about how they can leverage NFTs to take their art to the next level. Katie Cunningham, a fine artist, had some of her pieces on display, and for any purchase, the customer received an accompanying NFT.

“[NFTs] are bringing back the value of fine art again,” the artist told CoinGeek.

One of the more unique projects was Ugly Duck Society, a fashion brand in the metaverse. The collective helps clients transition into the NFT and metaverse world. And while men dominate the space, the Ugly Duck Society encourages women to take the lead.

“We want to make sure that we [women] stamp our authority in this space as well,” the collective told CoinGeek.

Crypto Connect attracted a wide variety of attendees, some excited about NFTs, others seeking to learn about the metaverse, and some looking for solutions that could elevate their businesses. The one thing they all had in common was their willingness to learn about how blockchain can impact their lives, Kurt summarized.

Fyx Gaming’s Adam Kling talks fixing blockchain gaming on CoinGeek Weekly Livestream

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z3rk4tYQtE

That Bitcoin SV is undisputedly the only blockchain that can scale unbounded to meet enterprise needs isn’t in question, but if it ever was, CryptoFights proved it beyond any doubt. The game has processed more daily transactions than the entire blockchain ecosystem, from Ethereum and Solana to BTC and Cardano, combined on many days this year. Adam Kling, the Fyx Gaming CEO, was on CoinGeek Weekly Livestream this week to talk about the blockchain game and everything else in the sector.

CryptoFights has grown over the years and is today synonymous with the growth that the Bitcoin SV ecosystem has experienced over the past few years. But as Kling told host Kurt Wuckert Jr., it was terrifying back when he decided to migrate from Ethereum to BSV. Back then, the BSV ecosystem wasn’t as big, and choosing it over Ethereum looked like a risky decision. Today, Kling is grateful that he was brave enough to take the leap.

Blockchain gaming has been around for a number of years. However, it feels like it’s just getting started. Previously, developers cared little about creating games that actually work, and that can scale to accommodate millions.

“The on-chain game play was very surface-level. There’s a party going on, who cares about something that works?” Kling said.

It’s changed over the past couple of years, with games like CryptoFights showing the world that a game can be fully on-chain and still scale seamlessly.

“We’re ahead of the curve, and not just us [CryptoFights] but the entire BSV ecosystem,” Kling noted.

For a long time, BSV has been the black sheep of the blockchain family and has been attacked relentlessly from all angles. While painful, Kling believes this has been a blessing in disguise. It has allowed the ecosystem to focus on creating applications that work, not for the hype or selling tokens.

CryptoFights has become the biggest game in the BSV ecosystem. With it has come the question of whether it’s licensing its technology to bigger gaming companies or scaling to become a giant in the industry itself. As Kling revealed, he’s leaning towards the former. Being one of the earliest entrants into the space, Fyx Gaming has had to build most of the infrastructure needed from the ground up.

“…when they [gaming giants] have a solution, I want to be the ‘how’ they can put a game on-chain,” he said.

For now, the company is focusing on making the gaming experience seamless for users. Kling revealed that he had expanded his team of late, bringing in new faces who’ve previously worked at Ubisoft, the French giant behind Assassin’s Creed.

In a few months, “it’s going to be completely different. What you see now on CryptoFights is like kitty compared to how massive the game is going to feel after this.”

Fyx Gaming is also “looking to start dabbling with its token marketplace.”

While most blockchain games struggle to attract an audience, Kling’s problem is unique—CryptoFights has more users than it can handle sometimes. Currently, Kling is focused on increasing the number of people who can play concurrently, revealing that the game sometimes has hundreds of people in the waiting room awaiting their turn to join the fun.

Away from his own company, Kling is a big fan of TokenSwap, a platform that has brought DeFi to BSV. He also commended Xiaohui Liu and his team at sCrypt for their great work pushing Bitcoin ahead while giving a special shout-out to Michal Scislowski and his team at Soundoshi.

Kling believes that while the BSV ecosystem is growing, it still has a long way to go. The community needs to grow much more, which will allow entrepreneurs in the ecosystem to gain the same benefits their peers in the other blockchain ecosystem have. As an illustration, he revealed that his company would have held a token sale on a BSV launchpad if enough companies were going this route.

New era of blockchain gaming,,, well, this is to me just another hype sounding statement. As I said, all the way up there, show me ONE game right now labeled as "play 2 earn" where you do not have to pay to play or win.

What is the name of your game? How much to "pay" to be able to play? Is there skill involved? How is the percentage of community who are gamers and not token buyers? Answer this all honestly and you will change your mind.
Just watch this video:

Play to earn but pay to win,,, someone should be writing an article about this right now if not already done before. There is no game here, just a mindless ponzi of "mining" as pointed out above.

What a shame it is for blockchain gaming, I have to say!

It is a shame indeed, however, I notice that the market needed this oversaturation so that most of these click-to-earn-to-pump-then-dump games, because now these are dying out and the new era of blockchain gaming is coming with solid projects with actual development teams and technical roadmaps.

The in-game utility of NFTs will become more and more common with more than just hype around them.

I am part of an upcoming blockchain game so I might be biased, however this rapid change has been observed since October/November 2021.

I still cannot see any genuine need for blockchain in video games. Neither do any of the young kids and teens I have shown blockchain games to. They hate them.

In order to see if these games were as bad as I thought, I paid some young relatives and their friends to play. Because they stopped within 15 minutes when I asked them to just try on their own.

I offered $5 USD for every 30 minutes up to 3 hours play, and gave them the $30 up front. Most gave the remaining money back after 30 minutes to an hour. A few stuck it out just to get the money, but made clear the games sucked.

None would ever play a "blockchain" game ever again. This metaverse crap is going to be the biggest con/ bubble since the ICO days. That $160 I paid those kids was money well spent.

The guys non-answer to your question was probably enough to realize the game is P2W, just to make it explicit, this is from the game website:

Quote
LOOT
Battle monsters in dungeons and other players to get loot.

CRAFT
Collect items and components when you play to craft into more powerful items. Sell or melt them on our NFT marketplace.

EARN
Play and earn through gameplay. Better players earn better rewards. Partly community-owned and influenced by the players.
The gear you get, either by playing or paying for, will give an advantage when competing against other players. The rewards for beating other players are the real world cash fees each side puts up in order to fight each other (minus the % cut the game devs take out of the fees).

Yup,,, so no surprise, this is 100% the same as all P2E games which,,, as you point out is P2W.

Honestly asking, as I really am looking Smiley

Hey, I saw that you are actively looking for skill-based crypto games, let me know if you have found anything and what are your requirements when scouting.

Honestly, no I was not actively looking as in really hunting. I was just very curious initially when all of these games came out as supposedly you could even just play from mobile.

But the more I looked,,, the more I realized you needed to pay or come up with initial investment, then I thought, why the hell do this I might as well go ICO or Defi.

Either you have to purchase NFTs or spend a lot of time to get enough tokens and I do not have the time. Even if I did, I would never want to waste it on that again.

Skill-based games on P2E, requirements: no need to pay to play. No way to make paying players more powerful until all top leaderboard are filled with players who have paid stuff or can play 10 hours a day.

Is money required to be good at this game? As in, do you have to pay for stuff like upgrades or currency to be able to get the best characters/items? Because when you talk about $6000 tournaments where you have $1 entry fee, it sounds good,,, but if I know I must compete with players who got 10x better equipment because they bought it, then it become pointless.

P2E games have a bad habit of doing this. Buy more crypto for more chances to get better and rarer items or breeds.

Quote
You do not need to make a deposit or buy anything in order to play the game, there is no minimum amount required to get started. Beyond a computer or Android Device, the next thing you'll need is a crypto wallet for withdrawal. Any of the popular ones such as Metamask, Binance, xxx, yyy or zzz will do since we offer the option to convert the most popular tokens such as BNB, ETH, DOGE, USDC, USDT, into BSV and the other way around.
https://help.fyxgaming.com/en/articles/5434314-cryptofights-faq-help

Thank you,,, I saw that, and no good p2e game I guess requires deposit to play but my question was: do you need money/crypto to be good at this game?

For example, the $6000 tournament. If I deposit nothing, would I stand the same chance of winning as someone who perhaps bought $5000 worth of items or skills or whatever?

Honestly asking, as I really am looking Smiley

Joshua Henslee takes on CryptoFights token in latest explainer video

Quote
https://youtu.be/1ri0UQ_rGUE

It’s no secret to BSV watchers that CryptoFights is the biggest success on the BSV blockchain so far. As the game locks in millions of daily transactions and growing, FYX Gaming has announced a fungible token for in-game use. Joshua Henslee is back with another video to explain what the announcement means and how the new CryptoFights token will work.

Recapping CryptoFights success and addressing critics

Henslee started the video by recapping CryptoFights’ epic success. He reminded viewers that CryptoFights now has more daily transactions than most major blockchains combined. That’s right, one game on BSV puts Ethereum, BTC, and XRP combined to shame most days.

He also addressed the fact that BSV’s critics claim that the transactions are spam. He disagrees with this. The in-game moves being logged have many benefits: it can help prevent cheating, allow players to study the logs to figure out winning strategies, and more.

About the new FYX Gaming token

Henslee covered the basics of the FYX Gaming token first.

- There will be 1 billion tokens altogether.
- It will have an initial circulating supply of 200 million.
- 100 million of them will be sold in a public offering.
- The tokens will be earned through staking.
- They’ll be used throughout the entire FYX Gaming ecosystem.

“The way players can earn these is by crafting a top-tier component in-game,” Henslee explained. This is a strategy to incentivize new players to the game and bring back old ones. There will also be a referral system whereby players can earn FYX tokens to refer new players to the game. Players will also earn tokens for landing on top positions on the game leaderboard.

“Any hype is good for BSV,” Henslee said, explaining his perspective on why the token will be a good thing. He believes it attracts players into a game that ultimately runs on BSV without the negative associations many in the industry feel towards the BSV token itself.

Why keeping the free tiers is important?

According to the information available, it will now cost players to enter dungeons, craft items, build characters, etc. Henslee has no issue with this, but he also thinks it’s important to keep free levels to entice new players.

He explains that he feels that paying right away is a potential turn-off for would-be players.

Is it all bots? Henslee doesn’t think so

The token will also help us discover how many real players there are within the game. If demand for the token is high, it means there are real players and will dispel what some critics say about BSV transactions being mostly generated by bots.

This is an excuse far too many BSV critics use to dismiss its massive transaction volume. Finally, the FYX Gaming token might shed some light on how many actual players the game has.

Is it an ICO?

Henslee acknowledges that this is, in fact, an initial coin offering (ICO). However, he notes that it’s likely the first ICO by a team that already has a working product.

Overall, Henslee believes this will generate short-term hype, create demand for the FYX token, bring new players into the game, and generate new transactions. While there are risks associated with this, he considers it’s ultimately a good thing.

CryptoFights and Zenescope equip fans with playable, in-game NFTs and digital collectibles in partnership with Epik

Tradable NFTs of Licensed Zenescope Characters to Appear within Blockchain-Based Game CryptoFights

In an exciting new product and crossover launch, comic book and graphic novel publisher, Zenescope Entertainment and CryptoFights, the fighting game powered by the Bitcoin SV (BSV) blockchain, set an industry milestone by minting the first-ever licensed Intellectual Property (IP) on the Bitcoin SV blockchain. The digital collectibles are playable, in-game non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles of Zenescope characters which users can use on their avatars and trade on- or off-platform. Spearheading the partnership is Epik, a global licensing agency connecting brands with video games.

The first drop date is set for November, when the Zenescope characters will appear as available for purchase by players 18 and over for in-game collectibles offered on the FYX platform marketplace and will be usable inside of CryptoFights as an “Illusion” for players’ custom-made characters. This means players can turn their regular character into a character from the Zenescope universe simply by owning the NFT in their FYX platform account.

“Epik is proud to connect an incredible cutting-edge brand like Zenescope with the #1 game on the BSV blockchain – CryptoFights,” said Victor David, Co-Founder & CEO, Epik. “We believe firmly in this partnership and look forward to seeing the project come to life”

“Grimm Fairy Tales is the longest running independent comic book being published today and the Grimm Universe boasts a library of over 400 characters that have appeared in hundreds of storylines,” said Zenescope CEO, Joe Brusha. “This exclusive partnership is a chance for us to reach new customers in an untapped market. We are excited to expand our Grimm Universe into the blockchain and NFT space.”

“Epik is the ideal partner for this one-of-a-kind collaboration, and their team is so innovative – from conceiving a bold new collaboration with artists and their Zenescope exclusive NFTs,” said FYX CEO, Adam Kling. “This partnership is helping to expand CryptoFights’ reach with new audiences in ways we never thought possible.”

The Zenescope NFT’s on the FYX platform will have the actual NFT assets stored on chain and not hosted on the cloud like many other NFT platforms do. Special collector NFTs will offer signed elements by Zenescope writers and creators.

CryptoFights, based purely on the BSV blockchain, gives the users and collectors unique benefits in that the content of the IP is stored on the blockchain in the token itself. FYX Gaming chose to utilize the BSV chain for CryptoFights for several key reasons: The BSV chain enables more efficient and powerful NFT transactions and capabilities, with a median transaction fee of $0.0011. Furthermore, BSV is fast, ecofriendly, and almost instant in processing compared to other popular digital currencies. Since relaunching with new infrastructure in August, CryptoFights has averaged more than 1,000,000 transactions per day on the BSV blockchain and on August 23, CryptoFights processed 1,960,354 transactions on the BSV blockchain in a single 24-hour period – more transactions than the entire BTC network processed during the same period [data from bsvdata.com].

To learn more about CryptoFights and its NFT collectibles with Zenescope characters, please register to attend CoinGeek New York, October 5-7, 2021, in-person or online at coingeekconference.com. FYX Gaming’s CEO Adam Kling will be speaking at the event along with Joe Brusha, Zenescope CEO, and Gary Ma, COO of Epik.

For example, the $6000 tournament. If I deposit nothing, would I stand the same chance of winning as someone who perhaps bought $5000 worth of items or skills or whatever?

Honestly asking, as I really am looking Smiley
This is blockchain-based free economics. All gamers are equal in their right to win.
It all depends on your personal experience and skills in the game.

This system of play allows winning fighters to accumulate real rewards, in a provably fair, blockchain-based gaming economy!

CryptoFights integrates Fabriik Weave to manage player crypto swaps

CryptoFights, as the name would suggest, is a peer-to-peer fighting game where players use strategy, logic, and probability to win crypto rewards. In recent months a huge surge in both users (over 50,000 to date) and transactions (peaking, so far, at over 1.2 million transactions in a single day) led the company to seek out a solution to handle its ever-increasing turnover.

Fabriik Weave allows end-users to perform all actions of a crypto-to-crypto exchange including onboarding, trade quotes, execution, and settlement, with confirmations fully managed.

CryptoFights has integrated the Weave API into its platform so players can trade seamlessly, in real-time, without needing to leave the game – a key benefit for gaming sites. With low minimum trades of just US$5 in crypto, and players don’t need to use or install a new crypto wallet as the Weave app will work with players’ existing wallet(s).

Crypto-to-crypto: Initially supporting seven cryptocurrencies including BSV, this will be expanded to 19, with fiat on/off-ramps coming soon in the new year.

Glen Broomfield, General Manager of Fabriik Weave said: “To have a client like FYX Gaming so early in our journey is the best proof of concept we could have hoped for. It validates that Weave is able to handle large volumes of transactions – a service we can offer to any type of organization that requires the ability to exchange digital assets.”

Adam Kling, CEO of CryptoFights, added: “Now that we have a scalable transaction system the sky is the limit for how much we can expand on our already popular gaming platform.”

For more information on Fabriik Weave, please read this case study.  To see transaction volumes on CryptoFights please visit BSVData.
