Cryptopia is a relatively small exchange out of New Zealand. What they lack in volume they more than make up for in volume, it more than makes up for in range of altcoin assets.

In fact, there are some coins that one can only get on this exchange. They seem to have grown recently as demand has outstripped supply. They even had to close the exchange recently to new users.

There are many complaints online though of rather poor customer service. Perhaps this was a result of the exchange buckling under user demand.

What are your views of the exchange? Security and reliability?

Any exchange should have an insight, customer service or support is so important that failure to address even a small issue can lead you a lot of complaints from so many people and once people post negative feedback, it will have a big effect even from one disgruntled user, so they better upgrade their service.

@coinbureau While i love the review, do see you were very up front about the facts, would love to see a revisit on this exchange. I been with Cryptopia for years, used to mine on their mining shaft platform back in the day and I am saddened to say I would give this place now a days maybe a 2 out of 10 if I was breaking it down for new users. Many of us that use this exchange lately have had almost criminal issues with them. Locking people from their accounts for months, me recently 4 months before support bothered with a ton of my tickets. Sadly after getting it back me and my fiance stupidly sent in some PIVX to this exchange and not a small amount to find out they forked the coin due to not updating their wallet and now playing the its syncing game for well over a week. Issue, I work in PIVX lol...well used to and since moved on but I still part time help them so I kind of know what it takes to fix these issues and PIVX wallet syncing does not take that long.

The thing I would like users to know about Cryptopia, look deep at these guys, its appears to me lately maybe greed got in there and they are less about their customers and more about the bottom line. This is going to undo this exchange if they don't get it together. Sad, years ago I would easily have recommended this place but now a days I think I may start warning people. I have had now 16 coins fork that I just happened to have sent to Cryptopia, its almost like it happens as soon as I deposit so my suspicions are getting towards the paranoia level with this place.

I commend your writing, I seen the date so I do wonder how you feel about these guys now a days, seems its been getting worse the last few months over there with issues
