It used to be a trusted exchange until hackers came and they ruin its reputation. I feel sorry for losing your funds but I think you should learn your lessons from it. You must look for a trusted exchange next time. Read the latest news and reviews about it first.
What other exchanges offer all these alts (shitcoins)? Unfortunately there are very few, and Cryptopia was the most famous of all of them. So I think there are no alternatives if you want to trade or just sell your low cap coins... If you know one, please let me know.

still 50% from all markets freezed ...
that sucks,  anyone had some info about the progress ?
All updates are posted in their official Twitter account https://www.twitter.com/cryptopia_nz
If there is no new tweet, I doubt that anyone has some info about it. If you have coins/tokens there, you have no other choice but to wait until they go back to full operation.

People should forget Cryptopia, after the two hacking, there's a possibility of a third one and some of the dev of the coins I'm holding are not announcing Cryptopia listing anymore even if they lower the listing fee, there are new waves of exchanges coming up, why not look at this new exchanges.
It's not true. I think cryptopia is a trusted exchange. It will be a good one after sometimes. The hack is unexpected but it happens. However, it's always better to use tier-1 exchange to avoid any of this kinds issue.

What is a tier 1exchange your talking about ? But by the way ,  i agree that hacking is unexpected and it can happen on all exchange whether it is popular or not . no matter how solid the security of the exchange , itll still be bypass by hackers if they are really dedicated  . in the case of cryptooia i thought the hacking only happen one time ?    But if its true that hacking happens the second time , then id say that it was already shady .

nothing is 100% secured ..

it doesnt need a hacker bla bla,
if the possible "lootable"  money is high enough
i can clearly imagine that it doesnt need sooo much criminal energy
that the right persons goes the easy way....

as example where yobit is hosted "SouthGermany"  the datacenter is maybe big..
and nearby the equal to some small town,   but iit is basicly just a factory building
and the next local police station is far away .. and i guess not equppted with
the right gear for the case that someone  simple raid the datacenter
with enough manpower and gear to carry some simple serverblades out of the rack^^

encryption ? .. sure,   .. it needs an knife and the address from the tech worker
when you  are the lucky "new" owner of some electronic junk  ;-)

sure, sounds like hollywood.. but hey, ... just a cost bennefit analysis  Grin
and just to complete the round ..  C-Cex  is hosted in West-Germany
in Cologne ..  the datacenter is clearly smaller then Hetzners "factory" ..
and its surrounded by  Anti-tank obstacles  in the near field  Grin Grin  NO JOKE!
but even this is just an obstavle

cheers

They are now back but haven't posted anything since their last tweet about 50% of coins being brought back. So you should now be able to access/trade/withdraw the coins you have on the site. And it goes without saying, that its best to get them out of there as recently they claimed not to have had a cold wallet set up.
I don't know they enabled withdraw or not. Withdraw was on hold when I last time visited cryptopia. I hope they come back well, a lot of my fellow mates from my local had some fund in cryptopia.

Can't I get back anyway? It was the problem of their exchange website. So why we will lose our coins!!
I guess you should see their tweet perhaps follow their official page so you will be up to date.
Otherwise, stop using this exchange site since it's already compromise and don't leave any coins in the site. It's already a cliche but many  still do it.

We are making progress on securing our wallets, you can check the status here:

Offline means the coins have not been checked yet.
In Maintenance means coin has been secured.
The maintenance message will detail the impact the event had on that coin.

indeed, cryptopia used to be good exchange place and I used to trade coins there. but now this exchange is often hacked and I never trade there again. it looks like the coins you saved there are gone.

You must read the news about cryptopia here https://www.chepicap.com/en/news/7157/cryptopia-hack-timeline-as-it-happened.html

If you kept tokens on the stock exchange, I advise you to check the official news resources of this exchange, as most likely your exchange was closed for maintenance and, accordingly, you can’t stop by and hold trading if you have funds on your wallet, then you probably set a small commission and therefore Can't send your tokens.

Cryptopia used to be a good exchange, registered in new zealand made it more trustworthy. Shame that it was hacked, but hopefully it will recover and we can trade there again
Cryptopia is back now you initially it was read mode only. By now, it should open the markets and active everything. So, I don't think OP has anything to worry now. I had account and a little fund. I found safe thay fund after back.

I am also cryptopia user and I have a few coins there.may the are worth of $60 but our luck is very bad. cryptopia was got hacked. so there is very low chance to get back our coin.I would say wait for Cryptopia announcement. just now trying to log in at cryptopia but its showing same announcement:

This is one of a reason I'm not holding altcoin in any exchange site because the chances to get hacked are too high even it is secured.
I'm also a cryptopia user for almost a year but Im not holding my altcoin in this exchange site because their platform are too slow and a lot of user complaining in this site I hoping that cryptopia will fix this issue.

The office is given back to the team and the operations is back on. The exchange lost Ethereum, Dentacoin, Lisk, Centrality, Zap, and Pillar. The funds were moved to various other exchanges but they still havent given a final statement regarding the amount that was lost or how it got stolen. Estimation from a data company called Elementus, believe the digital coins comprising of ethereum and ERC20 tokens, are worth up to $23 million NZ dollars (almost $16 million).

Aren't you aware of what's with cryptopia now?

There are some recent news that tells they are now allowed to go back to their operations. (https://kryptomoney.com/new-zealand-police-allows-cryptopia-to-resume-its-operations/)

After the hacking incident, Cryptopia devs have no access to his office, servers, and computers. Until now(police allowed) So they have not done anything yet to secure the rest of his platform and other coins there. they will definitely need some more time to repair his system. Also, i think people can count only to trash altcoins from there. They were not hacker targets.

That's the saddest incident happen on them and yet I think it's better to let go of it since whenever they traced the hackers or not still they are vulnerable for another attacks, People should look for this situation so that they will know that exchange are not safe to keep their altcoins and maybe the best thing we can do for now at this point is to wait for legal authority to solve nor get a news about this hacking case.

maybe you should consider using exchangers, Changelly, CoinSwitch or ChangeNOW

Indeed, it solves many problems. You do not keep your funds there, so do not be afraid that you'll be hacked.

I don't think so, stay away from changenow since it already have scam accusation, don't use it until further update, hence once they resolve the issues.

I know some are doing day trading and it's kinda hassle to always transfer our coins/tokens, and so if you want to store your funds to exchange sites make sure you can afford to lose those, we will never know what might happen.

RIP in those loss funds in cryptopia.

I'm not sure if they will reopen, but I think Cryptopia should at least let the users withdraw their remaining balances considering the fact that not all wallets have been hacked. Atm, users are still waiting for an official update.

Btw, you might want to read the discussions in their ANN thread. You can start from here:

They do not recognize that they were hacked, this is already a red flag! All funds are stolen, I think, and they will not recover your losses. In fact, your funds are lost. I'm sorry.

Cryptopia had a bit of a hacking issue and lost some coins as we know, all you can do is open a support ticket with them and hope that you are one of the lucky ones that can get their coins back.

Cryptopia got hacked and IIRC they still investigate it.
Your coins probably lost forever, only small chance they will refund it or found the hacker.

As far as I know, Cryptopia was attacked by hackers, so it seems to me that you will not be able to get your funds back. Unfortunately, keeping coins on your account increases the risk of losing money, so maybe you should consider using exchangers, Changelly, CoinSwitch or ChangeNOW, which I use the last time. You should not register here, therefore, you do not lose money if they have problems.

That's hard things to do, and no one can bringing back your assets/coins expect hacker itself. It's not exchange problem, all exchange in cryptocurrency can be hacked even though they have a high security system IMO. Hackers will always look for many ways so as they can knock down an exchange they are headed for.

So why we will lose our coins!!

That's a genuinely risk you have to face when having an investment in cryptocurrency. I hope, before you decide to invest in this place then you should at least know every risk that will/will definitely be faced. A bit advice for you, if decide to investing again in cryptocurrency then you have to try for save your in hardware wallet, the possibility to be stolen by hackers is 0.1%.

No you are not going to get back anything.
Someone steal their coins then how they can be able to give it back.

Sorry bud.

Your coins are gone. Cryptopia was hacked recent times and the New Zealand police is investigating it. I do not think they will come back anymore no matter whatever result the investigation brings. Do a Google search about them. You will find the news.
