Cryptopia announced that they are going to open a "sister" web site for Ltc markets. It's not only the mater of small traders, but of sub 1 satoshi coins. The communities usually paid to get listed, and they are not happy, because losing an exchange for a coin with a small market cap is life-thereatening.
So you will have for some time Ltc and even doge market because they are needed and used by some active communities and can therefore yield some small profit streams.

interesting. so does that mean some of us small traders are irrelevant to the industry?

No, we, casual traders are relevant as big whales, small or big traders have a way to contribute to the booming of cryptocurrency. So think that we are immaterial as far as trading volumes is concern.

I do not know why Cryptopia has suspended LITECOIN markets, but what I do know is that a lot of exchanges have scaling up problems and cannot cope with the demands and new wave/influx of people coming into these cryptocurrency trading markets. I suspect they may be doing this to free up their trade engine for the more highly traded markets like Ethereum and Bitcoin, this is my take on this matter.

This is also what I'm thinking. Litecoin had it's day. But Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple are now the dominant trading coins. Maybe they are just freeing up their engine to accommodate those big 3 right now. Although Litecoin is still at high price, its values keeps going down. Just my assumption. Maybe we can here what's the reason behind in the coming days.

lots of new investors are joining the Crypto world and almost every exchange is having problems and couldn't handle the huge crowd.
that is what i think happening with Crytopia. Closed the new registrations and disabled trading with LTC and Doge.

Cryptopia has an awful low interface because of too many markets and registrations. So they are doing well to make their site faster and simplify the interface with less markets. So I hope, that also the mobile interface will become usable again, as there is no trading app for cryptopia for mobile device.

I guess it's due to lack of demands for ltc market

I only know the news from you. Maybe ask directly to cryptopia, why is LTC not used anymore. This website is often problematic with the emergence of massive phishing, I am not even interested in using it again because there are many markets that are simpler and have a better transaction security system.

What do you mean that we are relevant to the industry? I can not understand. Sorry for my bad.
However, before doing something i think cryptopia has the good reason why they suspended the LTC market and i think they will publish the reason soon.

You don't have to be bother with this mate, the reason why this is happening is the increase value of new altcoins appearing, cryptopia move to the idea that litecoin will dumped it's value so why wasting time to be connected to it. The best answer for your question will came from cryptopia itself.

I think cryptopia servers can handle the 3 markets, lately ltc and doge markets are really volatile with this altcoins going up like 3000% so they paused them for a while. I think they will upgrade the servers and re-open the markets again(or I hope so). When this super pumps happened the cryptopia site was really laggy.

Other exchanges are having scaling problems right now, you can not log on to Coinsmarket and it seems to be impossible to register a new account with tradesatoshi, the minimal amount for a trade is a lot higher on bitter than what it used to be. I guess nobody had any idea the volumes and number of users would grow so quickly and is trying to adjust the best they can. Cryptopia released a statement to say that they could not deal with the number of transactions being made closed markets to reduce that number. They chose to go after the markets with the less volume and the smallest transactions (they were allowing orders for one doge !!), it's rational from their point of view even if a pain in the neck for users.
It still is not a mature industry

Every single experience I have had with Cryptopia has been quite a nightmare in my case. Withdrawals stuck for more than 24 hours, support tickets totally ignored... They should rename themselves to Craptopia, which is a lot more appropriate to what they really are.

you need to ask them why they did it but my guess is that it was because of lack of interest. which is the case in 90% of the times when they remove a market or a base currency for markets. people are mostly trading with bitcoin and rarely pay much attention to other markets.

if you check the volume of other markets (USDT for example) you can see that majority of them have not even been active for days and most of them don't have minimal volume.

What is the reason for the Cryptopia situation? as they are no longer using LTC to do trades with? as LTC is more mainstream then the other options there? anyone else noticed this? or have a thought on this? thanks
