Did you mix things up a bit? A cypherpunk is a person with good understanding of cryptography who applies it in practice to achieve privacy and independence, they may or may not be interested in cryptourrency. "Cryptocurrency enthusiast" doesn't require one to have any deep understanding of cryptography.

No, I didn't. I think they shouldn't be called "cryptocurrency enthusiasts" if they don't understand cryptography or don't use it "to achieve privacy and independence". They can be called bitcoiners or bag holders or bounty hunters, but true enthusiasts should spend at least a few hours educating themselves but most importantly - practice what they preach.

Cryptor?

THere are shitcoiners and bitcoiners only.
Shitcoiners are growing each year and getting wrecked

Not entirely true, there's people who hold both Bitcoins and shitcoins in different proportions. Maybe if one of the categories makes 90+% of their holding, it makes sense to categorize them as one or another, but otherwise a lot of people are "crypto enthusiasts".

There's nothing wrong with "cypherpunk", a word that has been around for many years.

Yes, it means more than just "bitcoiner" or "shitcoiner" but you really need to understand multiple aspects of cryptography to earn the right to be called a cryptocurrency enthusiast.

I too never came across any such specific term except HODLERS, the term specifically for bitcoin holders. But it's a great question, there must be some specific term for crypto enthusiast guys.
I'm in favor of using crypto enthusiast or bitcoiner if I don't like to write longer words instead I use bitcoiner for shorter one. I never heard of any other term like the op mentioned except the known terms that have been used by many people. I think the person who think of cryptoer did base it on like the word "Party Goer" where he/she did only add "er" at the end.

You can regard some who is a cryptocurrency enthusiast to words that is not offensive and suits you still have reasonable link to what you are referring to, crypto enthusiast it self is a very OK expression and can serve anytime without expecting any single word to describe it

Is there a widely accepted "single word" for referring to a cryptocurrency enthusiast?
Afaik , there is no "single word" expect the ones you mentioned.

Have you seen any other such word?
I saw users here in btt forum using the word "bitcoiner" as well as "Blockchainer" , or "Crypto-fan" which is more expressive. I prefer using the simple term "Crypto Enthousiast" or "Crypto-enthousiast" to define myself.

BTW , why are you looking for those concepts ? You can use your creative imagination to create new ones . Good luck anyway .

I haven't heard those words called by someone to a crypto enthusiast. Bitcoiner is way better. :p

Crypto folk, crypto guy, crypto believer, coiner, or crypto enthusiast would fit and for unbelievers, no coiners.

I would like to chip in the term "cryptopeeps" but honestly, anyone can use any jargon they want since there is no formal standard laid out on crypto terminologies provided we use keywords that are related to crypto industry. Imho.

Thank you for all of your inputs. Smiley

So apparently we have the answer: There hasn't been a widely accepted term in this case.

Same here, using Crypto Enthousiast myself. Words like cryptoer doesnt mean anything to me and im around cryptos for a long time.
Why is good question, i don't think its neccesary to create such word/term because we would need too many terms like bitcoer/bitcoiner, footballer etc

I was laughing when I read that "cryptor" or "cryptoer". Thanks Cheesy

That sounds bad to be honest but who knows what future crypto enthusiasts call themselves in the next two or more decades?

I'm happy with bitcoiners, altcoiners, no coiners, shitcoiners, bitcoin maximalist, altcoin maximalist, or even hodlers and dumpers.

I have seen some people using "cryptor" or "cryptoer". But the two words don't seem to be very popular.

There's no proper call  for crypto enthusiast maybe it depends on what you prefer since there are so many words has been used recently but no actual keywords has been trend that's why we should forget that calling things and let's focus on real business since no matter what the result is all of us will be united as crypto users.

@coupable,

Thanks. I have seen the use of "bitcoiner", too. That one is fine for referring to bitcoin enthusiast. The drawback is that it is restricted to only bitcoin.

I'm looking for thoese concepts because what I'm doing is related to creating brand names. For example, if "cryptor" were fine in this case, then it could be used to create a brand name of a cryptocurrency coaching platform such as "Cryptors Academy".

If you only focus on bitcoins  maybe a "Bitcoiner" word will suit you Cheesy.

While there are many terms to adopters of anything-coin, there's one for anti-believer or hodler; nocoiner.
