gotcha - the taxes. I was not aware they would tax a stamp so much

Sorry I'm late to this discussion - the stamp itself appears to be attached to a credit-card size memento while the collectability is there are just 2071 units on offer (the 2071 caught my eye  Grin Are the items numbered? 2067 would be a cool serial to add to the collection) and the website selling the item is touting there is also an NFT that is included in the package, so it's not just a stamp, hence the Euro Customs (probably) considers it to be e.g. a physical thing, not a stamp per-Se.

https://www.emiratespostshop.ae/product/projects-of-the-50th/

Quote
The NFT stamp card is a high-quality credit card-sized plastic card with a thickness of 0.8mm made of a 5-layer composite structure of FSC certified (eco-friendly and sustainable) printed paper with a chip layer and a blocking barrier for security purposes.

...

There are 2071 NFT stamps issued in this design.

The price is out of my range, but it's an interesting collectable.

we are all in the "same boat", whether or not to sell it are your evaluations.

Now the surplus is really minimal (maybe 0) and hundred euros changes little on a practical level ...you can pay one bill, or it depends on your lifestyle, you spend it only for a dinner for two people in a "trattoria" (cheap italian restaurant).

Actually I am holding my pieces because they have a limited edition and it is a new kind of collection.
Maybe I'll sell them in a few years but meanwhile I continue to growth my crypto (and stamps) collection.

the fact is that I have a temper that tilts easily when big upheavals happen
I activate my emergency plans perhaps too soon, but unfortunately I have a bad temper

now i don't know, maybe i keep it and close the thread

HODL HODL HODL..... These are inflationary times that we ate living in and more to come ahead...I think our collectables will only go up in value and a good hedge against inflation.

Would that also apply to US residents?

if I remember correctly @krogoth also bought this series of stamps directly from the United Arab Emirates postage... maybe he can answer you...

Unfortunately I confirm, in Europe (I am based in Italy too) I paid these taxes + an extra on shipping charged by DHL.
Plus there was a very looong time for shipment Sad
I think that the asking price is congruous. @babo is a trusted and well-known user on the Italian board, I am bit disappointed he is selling these item right now and not holding, but otherwise this is a personal choice Roll Eyes

Please note for the other stamps "golden jubilee" they requested initially 100 euro as fees... reduced after explanations to 50 euro.

Even in that case I don't know if there is the same situation for US Residents...

   Nada...smooth as a breeze  Wink

The only complaint I have is I had to wait months for these to be sent and almost gave up hope...but they came thru eventually to be placed next to their companions...golden unicorn and doge  Wink

you know you're right, maybe I have to keep it?
in the end I spent a hundred euros, I can survive without it

let's say that a contingent situation has arisen and the news about war and recession that frightened me and consequently all the emergency procedures that I have in mind have been activated

rising prices, very high inflation for consumer products, lack of energy (which causes companies to close)

a series of serious problems that are a little frightening me

i dont know now, if keep or not

Hi,

Customs duties and VAT are a nightmare in the EU...
In most European countries VAT is 20% and sometimes
higher...
When buying outside EU, you have to buy for less
than 150 euros to avoid customs duties. But even
in this case you have to pay carriers fees (around 20 euros)
for collecting the VAT on your behalf, even if you
import a one dollar item...It can become
very costly...

one question - what is the benefit of buying from you? the stamp is still available on the site for the price of 250 AED which is about 65 Euros - about half the price you are asking for yours.
is in europe
no tax about foreign country

if u buy it, u need pay taxes, so 40-45 euro in italy, need to go on office and bla bla bla
with me, escrow accepted, you dont need nothing, buy and arrive at home, without going in office
i can go down to 110 euro, if want it

gotcha - the taxes. I was not aware they would tax a stamp so much

https://www.emiratespostshop.ae/product/projects-of-the-50th/

I am selling this, bought to start the collection but at the moment I have other needs
it is already in Italy, already cleared through customs

I ask for 120 euros + shipping at your expense

clearly brand new, of course
