It seems this is back again.
Last Price : 8.65000 Buy :8.62000 Sell : 8.60000 Volume : 1248.67880

This actually happens quite often.

The problem is that when you query the order book, it should only show orders that are actually on the books.  Orders that are queued for execution in the trading engine are not on the books and shouldn't be shown.  In my opinion this is just a design flaw in their order processing system that just happens to only really manifest itself when the trading engine slows down or gets bogged up.  Not that they're the only ones to have this problem - I've seen this same behavior on other bitcoin exchanges too.

Hi, there is work in progress at the moment.

We have a new trade engine being released within the next 24-30 Hours, this will totally replace the existing engine and speed issues.

There may have been some Paused trading stages, which would make the orders not match due to the engine being paused.

Thank you

Regards

I have had nothing but problems with Cryptoxchange.  There are several problems which occur on a regular basis and then all the other problems that go along with it.  The trade engine is always down.  I have lost money on a regular basis with Cryptoxchange.  I haven't actually lost money but the transactions are not processed.  That leads to me not being able to complete transactions and make money.  That is how I come up with the response I am losing money.  The only answers and responses I get from customer service from cryptoxchange are that yes we realize there is a problem and we have been working on it.  When you work on a problem everyday and it's the same problem that tells me it's nt a problem more like it's how we do business.  If the platform is not ready to use maybe you should consider shutting the site down until it is ready and there aren't any more problems.  Pretty much all you are doing by running around the problem is pissing people off.  I am one of the people you pissed off with a weekly apology and no compensation and no remedy for the problem.  I would suggest anyone looking to use Cryptoxchange to think again and find another exchange.

Just curious, this is probably a newb question, but couldn't bot trading be solved with a captcha at log in?

No, the problems havent been caused by bots logging on. I'm guessing its the number of trades which the bots execute and query their database (which generally tends to be quite high compared to regular trading). This is normally allowed on exchanges as it benefits liquidity (and the exchange obviously gets a cut of the fee's charged for each of these trades) however can take a lot of server load in volatile markets.

In the real world it is referred to as HFT - High frequency trading, program trading or prop trading (not by strict definition).

Hi Guys,

Yes we are very sorry about this issue, the huge increase in Bot Activity has caused some problems and we have debugging turned on, our goal is to have the trade engine speed instantaneous there have been some updates applied, we are working on the trade engine non stop. You won't have any issues with trades now, just at the moment it is lagging because of so many checks per trade, this is only going to be for a very short time as we want to have this absolutely 100% for the future and lightening fast.

Speaking with our team we are looking at approximately 24-48 Hours and the trade engine will be instant and how it needs to be for the bots  / trade.

If you have any questions or problems please do not hesitate to contact us: [email protected]

Thank You

Is your trading engine an in memory process? or do you match against a database (which I imagine many of the bitcoin exchanges do)?

I just received this from Mahin:

We had some issues with BTC daemon throughout the week end. Those issues are taken care of now.
I will get back to you on order matching steps tomorrow as I have a lot of email to respond today ( due to issues of BTC daemon, we have lot of customers having same issues. )

Looks like its fixed, reassuring to know they're on it. I might suggest to them some kind of redundancy feature whereby order placing should be disabled or suspended on the exchange if something like that happens?

Trades stay open that are matched.  I try buying an existing sell and nothing happens even after 30 mins.

If bots are the problem, turn off access until it is fixed.
