They've been under attack and have a huge client base there, like hundreds of thousands, and if everyone sends half a dozen tickets to them, that quickly becomes quite the mess to deal with. If people would just relax and let them sort it all out, before firing off more support tickets, it would give them a chance to get on top of it. Just my thought on the matter. I personally enjoy trading on cryptsy very much, as do many others.

problem is their "normal" still sucks. it's always one thing or another with them. if they could at least hire someone for support to clear the hundreds of unanswered tickets, several of which are mine, that would be a nice start. until then, drama or not, the scrutiny will continue and cryptsy will fold if major concerns aren't addressed. there are many other exchanges that will be happy to accept cryptsy's former users and their coin volume.

Cryptsy will be back to normal soon. They have been getting attacked pretty hard lately, but they will pull through. Not sure why some people luv the drama so much that they create it and try to perpetuate it.

Have a few coins there which I even forgot I had. Time to dump them and withdraw whatever I can.
Sad that the site ended this way. Could have truly become a leader. No idea where and how it screwed up.

Seems the site is up again but I do not trust it anymore. Some coins are still frozen. I have stored a few crapcoins there, so losing them is not a big loss but the exchange is not really usable anymore.

Important System Notification

Due to a server failure, all wallets are offline. We will have wallets back online quickly as possible

The end is near by the looks of it hardware fail customer support fail and never get responded to in a good time. Good thing I got all my crypto out a long time ago from this one. Waiting for the next gox to happen or to slow right down to a point cant access or trade anymore. Even now on the site when it was running before fail it was mostly bot trading and bots should be banned from trading on sites.

Many people saw the Cryptsy problems coming long ago. This is not a time to gloat. Instead lets take time to empathize with the countless victims with btc stuck on this exchange.  I am not one of the victims but do feel sorry for those that are.
Obviously nobody would believe it would happen, if they kept a lot of BTC there! But right now the only thing is the server being down, so only time will tell! But personally I would not like it to be over, because it just gives BTC a bad NAME!! So lets just hope its just a temporary situation and everything goes back online!

Yeah the only problem is, the new ones aren't really very trustworthy. Looking at the Moolah/Mintpal fiasco.

If you are getting a 503, flushing DNS , rebooting, softbooting (windows users) linux users dont cache DNS unless you physically have that service enabled which is not by default, and reseting your router will do nothing.. this is a server based error code.

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:   cryptsy.com
Address: 199.83.134.5

which is an unresolved address. so it would appear either sever DDOS, or they updated there DNS and it has yet to propagate.

Cause of 503 Service Unavailable Errors

The 503 Service Unavailable error is an HTTP status code that means the web site's server is simply not available right now. Most of the time this is because the server is too busy or because there's maintenance being performed on it.

How To Fix the 503 Service Unavailable Error

The 503 Service Unavailable error is a server-side error, meaning the problem is usually with the web site's server.

yes, for about an hour here in UK
this is after their maintenance downtime earlier too, I guess it is connected

It's mostly working now.  For some reason, it hasn't been willing to send me email the past couple of days when I want to withdraw BTC.  I finally got my withdrawal to go through by switching it from my regular email address to my Gmail address (which I normally don't use for email). Other than that, it appears to be working as it should.  My latest changes to PyCryptsy have even kept CryptoSwitcher running through Cryptsy's intermittent availability.  Cool

Browser says this...

You attempted to reach www.cryptsy.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as secure.4rx.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of www.cryptsy.com.
