Welcome to Cryptsy - you are in for many pleasant experiences such as the one you posted.
Deposits and withdrawals are delayed, and trades such as the one you made often fail to show in the coin balances which means making subsequent trades is not possible until the funds appear. This may take up to 30 minutes.
Should you try to make a trade using the 'old' funds (eg. left in your LTC balance before the sale) you just might find you are able to double spend and will end up with a negative balance when it does clear.
These issues occur almost daily as you'll find by reading some of the complaints on this forum.

Hey I just recently tried using cryptsy for the first time
So far I've successfully moved LTC and Lotto coin into my account!
Now I've seen them in my account balances etc
Ok, just now I tried selling LTC for BTC
I've gone to Trade -> clicked LTC/BTC, then Sell LTC for BTC
Now why don't I see the BTC in my Account Balances?
I just see below that...
"Account Value
BTC Estimate 0.00659499"
I'm pretty sure that wasn't there just before I did the LTC/BTC thing..
can anyone help? I've tried buying another coing with BTC but says I have insufficient credits, (no BTC)
please help
