Speaking of Cuban cars, are they not handed down through the family like a license type deal?
I recall some interesting dynamic to that, just like Cubas main export is doctors. That always trips me out.

Raul is doing what is best for his country and losing friends to economic issues has cost them dearly. Be interesting to see who steps in for Raul when the time comes,it may bring a interesting era for Cuba.

Communism has done so well in Cuba.

Actually its really fascism disguised as communism.

What is the difference between fascism and communism?

The embargoes and sanctions against Cuba should be discarded immediately. These sanctions are causing immense hardship to the ordinary Cubans, and doesn't seems to help the US to achieve its objective of regime change in Cuba by any means. On the other hand, both the sides can benefit a lot from peaceful co-existence.

Were they not currently coexisting with the US or under the impression that the two could not coexist? I'm confused as to the context of where this quote is coming from.

Saw a few rowers from the Pan-Am games fled to the States this week. Imagine that would become more of issue down the road as things get more cozy.

Communism has done so well in Cuba.

Cuba isn't communist though. They're vaguely socialist. But they're doing extremely well for a nation that got cut off from most of the world and had the cornerstone of their economic infrastructure ripped out from under them. In fact, their doctors are some of the best in the world.

Actually its really fascism disguised as communism.

Send a letter to Castro, tell him he's actually a right-winger. I'm sure he will go on record and admit his life long political stance was wrong.

Eugh. Cuba definitely needs to improve their car industry, but there's got to be ways to do it without introducing Capitalism.

Cuba wants to "coexist" with the US. I suspect that means lots of money in aid; and a dumping of Cuba's criminals, uneducated, old and sick, and loafers onto US soil so my working sons can pay for it. Last year they were in a 20% tax bracket after working 10-12 hours a day, six days a week. If my sons knew where all the money they pay in was going, there would be a revolt.
