actually, I have realised that it is because of the excitement of winning
it is a strong feeling

That feeling can turn to an even stronger negative feeling in a heart beat. I play around with sites that have faucets and it is fun but I get too emotional to put in any real amount of bitcoin.

Gambling for entertainment is the only reason anyone should gamble. Gambling for profit can work in short bursts but it will never be sustainable.

If you are gambling for profit you are making a mistake because you are engaging in a negative expected value activity.  This is not to say some people don't gamble and win, many obviously do, but you can't rationally expect to.

I like to gamble but hate engaging in negative EV activity.  This is why I like bitcoin so much, it allows me to gamble literally microscopic amounts of money.  So I get the fun of gambling without it really costing me anything.  It's just one step above playing with play money, but it's not play money.

This is also why I like sites that allow investment like Just-Dice did.  You get the excitement of gambling - "gamble on every roll!" - but WITH math working for you rather than against you.  Of course, you are also making a tacit side bet on the integrity of the site operator.....

Good Luck!

Are you guys gambling for excitement or profit? I am very curious about the motivation because almost everybody knows that most gamblers lose money, but many of them still gamble.

Another thing that I feel very strange is that many people think trading stocks/options is just the same as gambling. The funny thing is that even my parter also believes so, and it's very difficult for me to convince him that the two are very different.

the few times i've played, i did it for profit. Yes, it's fun and exciting, but if you don't look at the profit you could risk too much money

It's definitely for the fun of it.

I used to work as a BlackJack dealer and while there was a consistent flow of people you would see on a daily/weekly basis (read - there to make money) most of the people there are there for the excitement of it.

I imagine that it is probably different for BTC gamblers and to be honest I have only tried a couple of games myself.  Losing a little bit of BTC, for me, is much worse than dropping $200 on a night of BlackJack.

Well its for excitement and profit. Everytime, I gamble I am excited, that I will win some money today Smiley But the end result is mostly different.

Yes, I do agree with you.
But every people has different attitude.

For me gambling is just for fun, so I never bet with a huge amount  Tongue

I think Gamble & trading are different !

Gamble,
your luck is depend on your seed or secret key against the house

Trading,
your luck is depend on how much transaction that will affect the price.
If you buy cheap sell high, you gain profit.
The hardest part is the price are unpredictable

It's alos fun...if you gamble with some specific budget and can stop whenever you want.
 Roll Eyes

Also you can gamble 'professionally'...for example for reviewing purposes...
 Wink

I know some casino games can be beaten by using some probability analysis. But that's just too difficult, and if you can consistently make money with that, you are probably smart enough to make money in the financial market as well.
