then please buy them all up, so price can increase again!

I did buy some @ $10.  Very happy I did as they are $23 now.

Biostar A870 at Newegg for $65 has 4 pci-e slots, but you will need slot extenders
Thats exactly what I bought. I am having issues installing ubuntu on that board.
What about you?

i haven't had any mobo related issues.  i had some trouble getting ubuntu to install from usb stick onto my HDD.  it didn't want to overwrite the windows partition that was already on it.  so i just erased the whole disk and then installed ubuntu on it, and had no problems.  of course, you don't even need a HDD to run a mining rig, just a usb stick.

have you tried just running it with a usb stick?
i booted with the CD, and the mouse pointer sometimes seem visible and sometimes not.
The same mouse has been used to install Ubuntu on other systems, so it shouldn't be the mouse.
The screen also looks a little bit funky at the top.
I went ahead and proceed with the installation process using the keyboard, and tell it to install on a 4GB stick (I did the mod so it would install on it).
Then, the system just got stuck after it partitioned the USB stick.

Since then, I've used the same USB stick on another machine, and it installed just fine.
So, I don't really know whats wrong.

newegg is having a sale on the corsair ax1200 power supply right now.  It's  a beast.  I currently have an ax1200 running 8x 5830 cards... but I had to make some "custom" pcie power connectors because it didn't come with enough since 8 cards requires 16 connectors.

I'm researching putting together a rig and this is the best I could find (in Canada so Newegg is a little more limited).

MSI 890FXA-GD70 - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130274

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series RSA00-80GAD3-US 1000W - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171056&Tpk=1000w%20silent%20series

Of course the standard Sempron 140 and I've got RAM and HDD's kicking around.

There's simply no such thing as a budget motherboard that'll support four cards in crossfire, unless by budget you mean that you have a huge budget.  The power supplies get exponentially more expensive as well so you're likely better off with several cheaper systems running 2 cards.

Even if a motherboard physically has 4 slots you're not actually always able to put in the video cards without resorting to water cooling blocks ($$$).  The board rgod14 linked below won't fit 4 cards unless you're using single slot water cooling gear.  The only boards that'll fit the dual-slot air coolers are quite pricey, boards like the EVGA Classified series, etc.

Pretty much as the topic says, I'm just looking for a few suggestions on what a good budget mobo is that people are using for 4x5830-5850's, and what sort of power supply to expect to buy Smiley

I'm starting small cards wise but looking to buy a mobo and psu that will be able to cover 4xcrossfire of (most likely) 5830's, 5850's

Thanks!
