I haven't used this exchange but I've known them, IIRC a few years ago and they're already into crypto. That's why it's not new which is the title is telling.
It's just more of their expansion and getting more of their market through the US. Well, a good step for them as crypto is already popular in the US.
It's a new one, and one with money as well which I assume that either it will be like crypto.com or it will end up being a bit different . Currency.com is a bit older of course because of the name and what not, and what they do, but it's still not old in crypto world and sort of brand new.

This is why I believe that there is really nothing we should be thinking about this place anyway, they could be offering whatever and we shouldn't jump in yet. When we are talking about something that is crucially important on security, you need to stay away from places you do not know about. Let it grow bigger and bigger and see millions using it before you join in.
The credibility isn't questionable but I don't really used them despite of being known them for so long. But the advantage on this news is focusing on the US citizens that are looking probably for a new place to trade.
If it seems to be easy and smooth for them, then it will be their go-to place and is going to be like a newly found home for them.

"whois" search.. reveals the exchange is HIDING behind privacy guards and PO boxes.
not a good sign at all

exchanges want to KYC their customers but dont want customers to know who they are handing funds over too..

Some domain registrars don't give you the choice to hide or show personal/business information.
On the other side, the website shows clearly all the information to identify them. As well company numbers, FinCEN numbers, MSB license numbers, etc...
Since everything can be verified, I think people can verify themselves if they want to know who's behind.

If I want to know a company, i take a look at their website first instead of doing a WHOIS query.

Your title is sort of misleading or wrong. AFAIK, currency.com has already listed bitcoin even before and the correct headline is this below.
Currency.com expands into the US
They've expanded and that's good for the company as many exchanges have been strict with their US customers.

That's right. Most of these centralized exchanges are very strict when it comes to US customers. This is why like in binance, they have separate site for US traders, which is binance.us. But yeah, should rectify his title. But wondering why I haven't encountered much of this currency.com exchange? Haven't used this exchange so far.

Currency.com, a global cryptocurrency exchange, has expanded into the U.S. and is available in 48 states and territories in the country, the firm said on Thursday. It will become available to clients in New York and Hawaii in coming months.
Currency.com US will start with bitcoin (BTC-USD), followed by such cryptocurrencies as ethereum (ETH-USD), litecoin (LTC-USD), and bitcoin cash (BCH-USD). More crypto coins will be added over time, the company said.
The exchange, registered with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) as a money services business, will enable U.S. residents to buy, store, and invest in top-traded cryptocurrencies, the company said.
The exchange will provide clients with fiat-to-crypto capabilities and a crypto wallet with fiat support.
On Wednesday, Binance.US secured a license to offer crypto trading services in Puerto Rico
