Hi all,

I have an S7 and i'm using mineral oil (paraffin) for silent cooling.
Can any one help in a software mod to remove the fan control and shutdown on fan failure? How to edit the S7 firmware?

PS: It would be so nice to see a custom firmware for the Antminer like there was for the WRT54G Router, the DD-WRT.

Thanks in advance

What about bmminer recompile with lower voltages set?

S7s dont run bmminer and nobody was able to get voltage changes to work via software. As has been stated, sidehacks PIC flash mod is the way to go on these older miners. You can get them down to like .22j/gh if you win the chip lottery.

As NotFuzzy pointed out, the sidehack mod for the s7 will get you the most efficiency possible.

One thing to note, if you have the 54 chip S7s from the first few batches there is nothing you can do to them.

The voltage mod only works on the 45 chip S7s.

the s7 'custom' FW never really worked.
Better option is to visit Sidehack's thread on undervolting/clocking the s7 That works beautifully.

I recall someone has built some updated custom firmware for the S7.

I just got 35 S7s and am looking at making them as efficient as possible, this means down clocks and other fun stuff, but I recall there was a custom firmware that did undervolting and gave very percise controls...

Anyone have and idea of where to get it? I googled around and only found some weird German threads about Momotorro.
