I recently switched some of my btc for other crypto in a moment of 'madness' and have since then watched the value vs BTC reduce over time. I am waiting for an opportunity to convert it back to bitcoin and to reduce my losses.

I am interested in other crypto and can see the temptation based on wild price action but it just hasn't worked out for me and now I can't wait to get out.

I would give much preference to Cardano between these three altcoins because on the basis of fundamental and technical analysis ADA seems to me a decent altcoin to invest still I wouldn't recommend you to fall in hype which is in trend these days probably you will be much aware about the risk in crypto space so invest with responsibility and better understanding.

Well, it seems like the  Mary hard fork of ADA (Cardano) has a big effect on its current price and status,

It seems true, im also waiting for the result from the hardfork and if the defi can start to use ada and there will be a massive exodus from BNB and ethereum to the ADA. ADA will become decentralized platform for DAPPS that has a very good scalability. that should become the main point why ADA already pumped so hard.
My ada was also growing a lot too.

The big effect hasn't shown yet but there were teams already interested to use Cardano blockchain. Cardano reviews had also become very positive, its almost like they all collaborate with each other to one big conspiracy but its making the price of Cardano bigger.

Among the 3, I think Cardano will have a better solution to problems we encounter on different blockchain in term of scalability, interoperability and its POS.

For sure the vision of the funding developer has foreseen this as he is also part of ETH project.

There are expectations coming from develpers who are willing to jump over, this fork would allow them to use this chain.
Scability and trasaction fees are anticipated to be more friendly with new project that will use ADA's system.

If I understood you correctly you are currently seeking for assets to invest in for a long-time trading. Well, then it’s better to invest in several altcoins. You can buy Ada as well as Polkadot and some other crypto you like and hodl them for several next year's without any regrets.

Well, it seems like the  Mary hard fork of ADA (Cardano) has a big effect on its current price and status, Seeing it going to the top spot number 3 is amazing, I think because of its upcoming features to supporting the Defi projects and native tokens. Good job to those who currently bought ADA when it is at the 1 USD price last month.

Both Cardano and Polkadot will be successful this year. Both Polkadot and Cardano coins are among the top ten cryptocurrencies, and their development prospects guarantee their ability to survive in fierce competition. Even despite the very high volatility of prices, both Cardano and Polkadot are very confident in the rating.

Of course, the best way to choose your own favorites among the whole variety of coins is to listen to your own opinion and analyze the future prospects for buying one or another coin. But overall I think DOT and ADA are a profitable investment.

I have no clearance about CVC but I can suggest you for other coins such as DOT, LTC, LINK. They have strong potentiality and profitable strategy. A coin can bring a benefit when they transaction fees are following a minimum categories transaction charge. Example: I have seen many more forum posters for knowing the about gas fee and they would love to get very less amount fee.

if you have to cheese between those three,
i think i prefer Cardano for now, why? because cardano is the safest between those three, not only by itself price, but also the volume
of cardano itself, let's wait and be patience so we can see the GREEN GRAPHIC again in the marketcap.

Polkadot for me because of the way it has increase in price so fast plus it has many support from investors, many people seem to like dot between it is new project with great potential, ada is not a bad idea too but am just looking for something new with lots of hype to push the price to the maximum.

Put that $50 per week to bitcoin or any amount that you have decided to invest on a weekly basis, you're in good strategy if you've been doing this to bitcoin.
The cost average strategy is one of the best strategy if you don't want to trade and you want to avoid the pressure of trading. It's rewarding if you have the good choices of coins. And with your choices, I'll choose two, ada and dot.
I would even go ahead and select DOT as the best of the three. I like the suggestion you gave about investing into bitcoins but not everyone can just abandon the altcoin market and dive into bitcoins, a lot of guys are still trying to find upcoming good projects in which they can invest and make some quick bucks. There are such projects and DOT is one of them by the looks of it and maybe ADA as well, but I rate DOT higher than ADA for now.

DOT and ADA has a nice price action for the past few weeks and their project is really good. We are still on a bull market so the potential for price growth is still possible even they hit their ATH recently.
The only thing I don't like from team Cardano is that Hoskinson doesn't ever talk good about Ethereum and that makes me feel like he doesn't respect even the fact that he was one of the team member of Ethereum initially. But no doubt some very good development being done on ADA though.

My opinion is, if you built something at least have some respect even if you don't like Vitalik or Ethereum itself.

I think it's not late to accumulate some bitcoin now, Support of big companies is coming. If I were to pick I'll always buy bitcoin and put ADA and DOT into alternative.

Question about  investing in Cvc, Cardano or polkadot.

I have a goal in 2 years to get a plot of land..  im saving 200 a week in a saving account..   im looking to place 1000 initially into one of the above cryptocurrency with an additional 50 dollars invested a week in it.

I won't be day trading.. just a somewhat safe investment that will increase with time.

Any suggestions?
I'm also open to other ideas.

What I like about these is that they haven't had a rapid growth recently that always makes me think of a bubble.   And the value is stable with an upward trend on them.

The best investment that you could make is bitcoin and eth in long-term investment, but I could also recommend Cardano and polkadot as a well project that has high potential in long term. Cardano and Polkadot have a high market cap in the market also have a solid foundation in the market. Probably Cardano could climb up to 10 price points in the market and polkadot will be over 100$ after 1 year. You could invest a big percentage of your saving in bitcoin just to be safe and then invest the rest in altcoins. For sure there are will be corrections in altcoin soon when the market circulates so be careful investing in altcoins.

Polkadot is the right choice, even though the price has increased very high, but I am sure if the price of Polkadot can still increase even higher than the current price and of course I also believe that investing in Polkadot is definitely safe, so Polkadot is very good as a long-term investment, because the price of Polkadot will definitely continue to increase and you will definitely get a lot of profit from investing in Polkadot.

DOT is trying to build the big ecosystem similar as ethereum but do you see the latest news? In that news BSC already mentioned to be the ethereum killers. I think the best bet would be put majorly on the DOT. CVC is not having a good product, ADA is good but there's no a lot of parties interested in using ADA.

The Polkadot development team is working on interoperability with various blockchains. In my opinion, they are doing this in order to improve the quality of DeFi projects. And what's most interesting about Polkadot is that it will have its own stablecoin. The coin holds a stable rate and shows regular growth. Roll Eyes

I have followed the development of these two coins from the start, namely Polkadot and ADA. Polkadot did have a drastic increase since it was launched on the stock exchange. But I've seen values change quickly. ADA is a coin that has been released on the market for a long time, recently experiencing a price increase. But I was more interested in ADA than in Polkadot.
For long-term investment, I think that nothing can guarantee that the coin price will continue to increase, it is possible that the value will be zero.

The best bet would be put majorly on the DOT. it's not just about DOT you need to properly understand what dot ecosystem is as a whole and what they are trying to achieve.
Polkadot is probably the name people are focusing on this year as it is constantly providing information and preparing for new upgrades, a very positive result for this news is that Polkadot's value has increased very rapidly recently, perhaps this year will be the trend of DOT. The other two names are also quite prominent but both seem to be just following the market trend, it is difficult to break the trend like Polkadot, so I also bet on Polkadot but of course, I am still waiting, waiting for an adjustment to enter, the price is now too high for me to accumulate

Why not go with Polkadot, there has been some rapid growth and development in that space for long time and I think it's good we have a competitive project for Ethereum. Not really a project that will displace Ethereum but they are on their path trying to bring scalability we have been actually waiting for.
Cadano isn't bad but I think the reason behind the recent pump recently is because of the rumor about their listing on Coinbase exchange. Buy the rumor and sell the news, they may dump on you at all time high, wait for correction and stack some ADA

Cardano has long been a top altcoin and Cardano capabilities and technologies are really very popular and therefore investing in Cardano would be a good option, but I would choose Polkadot, because Polkadot is a new altcoin that has reached incredible heights in an incredibly short time and therefore I am sure that in the future the price of Polkadot will grow and Polkadot has just begun to develop and this project has a lot of incredible ideas and goals that this project will develop and achieve.

You have a very good choice these coin CVC, ADA and  DOT are really good altcoin to invest with because are showing a high and promising development and growth over a short period of time which make them very good option to invest with. Just to add to you list try to check EGLD and AVAX this token is good for long term investment as well.

If you are going for that long term with monthly investing, then I would not suggest any of the altcoins. You are making this saving for a purpose so I would suggest you, buy ETH every month.. Regardless of what the price is, just buy it and hold it.

Optional: If you have a little time and can be attentive to the market, only then buy alts. Trade them in long term manner, If you get profit then get out from it and keep ETH or BTC.

What do you do? Many people have made long-term investments, not considering day trading, planting and growing.
I saw a lot of comments this month about doge, that's what happened.

Cornado, polkadot is a coin that is much in demand in the crypto market, ADA, DOT is currently increasing, maybe, if you consider the next 2-3 years, your dreams will be achieved, hopefully.

Bottom line: you have to commit to your investment, don't hesitate, mission and vision matter.

In terms of Hype seems dot is the clear winner here. But ada and cvc are still good entry since their price and goals are almost same with the other projects. They just need more use cases and progress on the development. I am checking a good entry price for cvc since this is the most cheapest among the example you give.

Well, it's staking that you would likely need. CVC, DOT, and ADA offer this type of algo which increases your investment safely. If you have to choose between the three only, pick DOT, it's already a fully developed project like ETH.

Its price however is going to be a big problem when it comes to investing to DOT because its almost $30. A richman wouldn't have that problem but for someone how has no thousands of USD will struggle. ADA is a much cheaper project which is almost like DOT as well. Only a few differences between the two. CVC I believe is a privacy coin. I don't know and I'm not liking the token.

No idea with CVC although it has been there for a long time already.

Now regarding DOT and ADA, it will depend on you. You want passive income thru staking? Go for DOT since it has a higher APY compare to ADA but I prefer to invest on the both.
Instead of picking one of them, why just invest on the 3 of them or at least DOT and ADA. They have a good future and are considering competitors with Ethereum. They both have a bright future especially when ADA will release their Goguen mainnet this Q1 of 2021. DOT has some DAPPS already compare to ADA but lets wait for the Goguen to release and we'll see how many DAPPS will be created in ADA blockchain.

I will put my vote in Cardano's box because it is not only an advanced blockchain network but the team is very near to come up with solid developments and full scale release,  polka is also doing well but i still think it will take more time to establish itself in the market.

None of us can guarantee any profits in any of the crypto currency projects. If someone had a sure shot way of knowing which project would do well in future, they would never share it.

I will say that I have no idea what CVC is or what it does. But I am a big fan of Cardano and I love the work Charles and his team are doing. Although the project is still in development stages, future seems bright for Cardano. Having a small investment in it wouldn't hurt if you wanna bet on the speculation that it could gain a bigger market share in future considering the state of Ethereum network.

Polkadot I am staying away from for the time being. Last I checked they didn't even have a desktop wallet available, which should be a top priority for any development team. I am not trusting an online wallet with my money.

One thing to keep in mind if you're investing in ADA or DOT is you're investing purely based on speculation because end product is just not there yet. You're practically betting on the fact that the teams behind these projects will deliver exactly what they're promising to deliver and will do so in a timely manner, if you're investing in either of these projects.

I don't know about CVC but I would choose either ADA or DOT if I am in your situation. You could also invest in both of them if you want to limit your risk. After buying, don't just let it sit in your personal wallet. Stake it/them to further increase your holdings over time.
I really agree with you. I would 50/50 on both since there is no a bad call. Me personally bought ADA at 0.25cents and I'm really up but from now on there is not a bad call. If you look for a like a couple of months investments then go ADA and after they pass big news put some profit from it on DOT... That's at least my plan.

If these are the only coins you have short listed then go ahead and invest equally in two of them and in my opinion you should invest in polka dot and cardano among these as both are solid projects with extremely bullish prospects ahead and already among the top 5 crypto coins which is an unbelievable achievement for them.

Ada and DOT are rapidly increasing. If only these three are your choices then I'll choose the two that I've mentioned. They're pumping unexpectedly and you have seen the increase in their market caps.
And that made them at the top of the altcoins spot which is already a good sign for you to choose any of them or better to have both.

All projects are interesting in their own way, but not all projects are successful. Today PolkaDot is successful and a large number of people gather around this project. And where there are more people there and more money.
If you are confused about buying coins then you can see from the supply, the project developed and the trading volume at the exchange, because all cryptocurrency prices depend on these 3 factors, in my opinion Polkadot and Cardano can be the right choice to buy.

What the factors? Polkadot and Ada real flagships, but you forget about the bull market, he is still going up. I think right now the simple egg will shot and the Civic its not so bad (look at the graph).

I will choose ada and dot. It is good to allocate some money to invest in that coins as you want to hold them for 2 years. But you should be careful because that coin is an altcoin that really depends on how bitcoin will moves. If you can not control yourself, you will panic if the price drops. Instead of investing in ada and dot for 2 years, it is better if you invest in bitcoin from now on because bitcoin price can increase in the next 2 years. So you can see that your investment will also increase.

looks like chasing the DOT rise is quite difficult at this point as the upgrade is ongoing. maybe if you pay attention to the price of DOT 12 hours ago and it is a pretty good moment to have a certain amount of DOT with the money you have. I am sure that the DOT will have great potential this year.
and for Cardano I will invest 30% of the remaining 70% in Polkadot.

Question about  investing in Cvc, Cardano or polkadot.

I won't be day trading.. just a somewhat safe investment that will increase with time.

Any suggestions?
If you are looking for the long term invesment and you can go for ADA or DOT but the problem is both were overvalued at this moment and are you sure put your money on the overvalued coins?
You may get very bad position consider when it will be dumped and you may lose your investment.
CVC is still undervalued but it's not good as ADA and DOT.
I will think if DOT could be the best choice.

I'm also open to other ideas.

What I like about these is that they haven't had a rapid growth recently that always makes me think of a bubble.   And the value is stable with an upward trend on them.
If you are not looking for bubble and go for the major coin but it doesn't guarantee if that will not be dumped. DYOR.

Any suggestions?

why you don't want to invest in Bitcoin, because I believe the price of Bitcoin will continue to increase slowly, so it is suitable for those of you who want to invest in cryptocurrency for the long term, besides that in my opinion Bitcoin is a safe investment and has a small risk than any cryptocurrency, because Bitcoin is the top 1 on coinmarketcap and has very high volume than any cryptocurrency.

If there is possible bull runs in coming months Cardano and Polkadot are insanely good, also avalanche is very good too, you mentioned the best projects already mate, what matters now is risk management, make sure you invest only what you can afford to lose, if bear season starts at any time you will be in loss

I don't know about CVC but I would choose either ADA or DOT if I am in your situation. You could also invest in both of them if you want to limit your risk. After buying, don't just let it sit in your personal wallet. Stake it/them to further increase your holdings over time.

my alternative recommendation would be EWT. it has actual utility and is at present undervalued at ~12$ imo. the coins you're mentioning need adoption before utility drives the price. what you're seeing now is speculation ahead of the potential. to be fair they're all good projects with a lot happening development and project wise... if you had to choose just one of the three I'd say DOT - it's lower on the rankings and has higher staking rewards. I don't think Cardano or Polkadot are going anywhere so why not diversify. not financial advice - dyor.
