With derivative exchanges where you transact in BTC you could easily create a basket of assets as a hedge against inflation and confiscation. As far as I heard current futures exchanges are not very evolved or tested yet but this could change the landscape by making it very cheap to take the position you want for your savings, USD, stock indices, metals, etc.

I heard about bitcoins in a tweet from anonymous, "supposedly" they give away bitcoins daily (after reading a lot i see maybe its only marketing), had only to enter your address, but I had no address wallet I did not even know what it was, so I started researching and read that to generate that address had to download a client, I did download the client and after 7 days of waiting I now have the address (put it in my signature),

I see bitcoins as a way to convert bolivars into dollars or so a potential investment,

since in Venezuela we have an exchange control where the official exchange rate is low only for $2500 dollars if you travel (you must own credit card) and $ 400 for electronic purchases (you must own credit card also) these amounts are annual quota...
for those unable to obtain these quotas, black market exchange rate is almost 4 times the official change rate,

I'm curious who's here because of the events going on in Cyprus. Even if you're not a Cypriot - I'd just like to know what's your story for becoming interested in bitcoin. If you are a Cypriot, can you tell me if there is any growing interest in bitcoin in Cyprus?
