Cardano has some potential so i'm going to hodl for a bit longer and wait for the platform release. Not going all in as it's too speculative but worth holding some in case it does deliver something amazing. There is a lot of hype around ADA and it will probably get on coinbase in 2019
To their credit, the developers did actually fix the wallet and I sold my coins ASAP. Glad I did.
It was too little too late, as the price has plummeted some 89% since I wrote my OP.

This coin is a brain in a hat, and not much else. Absolutely no real world adoption or utility. If you don't believe me, have a look at their block explorer... 5 empty blocks out of the last 8.

I do not like Cardano wallet, it weighs a lot and is set for a long time. Before the update, I could not install it at all on the mac os, it just hung for a long time and did not react at all to anything. After the upgrade, it began to work better, but its weight is very large and I prefer to keep it on the stock exchange.
There is no point abusing a crypto as new and ambitious as Cardano. Now there are many wallets that you can use for storing your Cardano.

Glad you liked it. Since ADA has been released, there's probably a hundred other coins that have followed suit. Of those hundred, maybe a dozen are competitive with ADA.
Cardano will sink like the Titantic if it doesn't change course soon.

I had a wallet for a coin called Methcoin that worked better than this. 95% of all other wallets for coins I've ever owned work better than this. So how can a coin that relies on the pretense of its academic genius put out such a poorly functioning wallet and call it a day?
Cardano doesn't stand a shot in hell at any sort of adoption without a wallet that just fucking opens when you click on it.
People shouldnt have to rejigger the whole thing every time they want to open it.

Therefore I prefer the original ADA wallet,
not just any ADA, especially all coins. it's better to use the wallet made by the coin.
I agree that the software is buggy, but I think the bugs will get fixed over time. I noticed that during installation it can take a long time for the wallet to sync with the network, and will give a vague "connecting to network" or some such message, but for me after a few hours it connects. I also have come to terms with the fact that blockchain software is complicated to develop and normally advances relatively slowly.
Agreed. The original development team behind Monero were slimy douchebags. It is good that smooth, Moneromooo, Fluffypony and the rest of them forked it away from the original team.

This is embarassing considering that the developers of IOHK were hyped to make up one of the best developments teams in the cryptospace that were handpicked by Charles Hoskinson himself.
