Cool move from the mosque. Not sure how much muslims do own some and are willing to spend bitcoin though. Eitherway, adoption is adoption and this gives us decent publicity so this is great news in my opinion.

Trust me, there is a decent amount of Muslims who have bitcoins.

In fact, people might use bitcoins for donating more then the other methods now because in Islam, the hidden charity is better then the one that people know about and bitcoin help achieving that since of its pseudonymous quality.

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
a good thing about donations like that is that anybody from anywhere in the word can make a donation fast, easy and super cheap. and while doing that they can see their donations being spend in a very transparent way. and that makes bitcoin donations that much better than any other form.

Just heard the news and am actually happy with it. This is actually development if you ask me in terms of cryptocurrencies.
Another things is that donations should be anonymous, so its a good thing.

Dalston, a London mosque is the first in United Kingdom to accept bitcoin donations after a Islamic Scholar declared cryptocurrency legitimate under Sharia law. The clerics of the mosque have taken the decision to accept another popular cryptocurrency Ethereum to get repaired out at the mosque in Shacklewell Lane.

It was a very good decision that had been taken by the London scholar or caretaker of the mosque, with the contribution of using ethereum or bitcoin to make it easier for people who want to donate that is stymied by distance and time.
