Dash solves many of bitcoins problems. It just needs more adoption. I would much rather send and spend Dash. Cheaper and faster

DASH is the currency, and it can be used like money in future. I believe that many people will understand it and realize that this alt is underestimated. As I see it, it will be strengthened, but it cannot replace BTC.

DASH is not a direct competitor to BTC. It is complementary.

BTC for storage of wealth and DASH and the rest of privacy coins for transfer of wealth/value.

After BTC dip / "price correction" / drop Dash was one of the only coins that held it own against BTC. Sadly, I jumped off BTC onto other sinking ships and lost 20%

Hello, can someone explain why dash has tripled in 2 months?
Might become a serious BTC challenger...
Thanks

People seem to think premine and instamine have the same meaning but thats not true, they differ.
Dash / Darkcoin was never premined. It was however instamined :

Was Darkcoin Instamined?

~2mn coins were issued in the first 48 hours due to problems with the difficulty readjustment. That represents approximately 10-15% of the total money supply that will ever be issued.

The majority of these coins were distributed through the market in the following weeks and months at very low price levels* (0.0000x BTC per DRK to 0.000x BTC per DRK) and a lot of them were also absorbed in the April/May 2014 price increase.

I think we may have been underestimating Dark/Dash.  They could be going strong in Europe.  They were featured on BBC's Click just recently in this Video

Since early in 2013, Darkcoin has been a permanent fixture in the daily digital currency news. From Darkcoin’s initial meteoric rise, quickly reaching a USD value of $15, to the level of security and innovation it provides for privacy seekers, to the failures and triumphs of the “Masternode Network”, Darkoin has been almost as interesting and intriguing as Bitcoin itself. And 2015 is shaping up to be a year of rebirth for Darkcoin, which is now Dash. We discuss the state of Dash, and the digital currency industry, with core developer Evan Duffield here on CCN.

Sure. And I've heard that MJ will invest 90% of his fortune into Dash.

It can try.  But no.

I agree Dash is a good coin for increased security and anonymity use cases but that's a niche market. Most users simply don't need such stuff.

That's what most people thought about https back in the day. Now it's 'de rigueur'.
Awful analogy.

Darkcoin will forever be some niche coin to buy dodgy stuff on dark markets. It will never be a direct competitor to Bitcoin for obvious reasons, mainly the one I just stated. Get some perspective.

I am also curious to see if Guldencoin will pass litecoin's marketcap in 2 years from now. Dash will lead the anonymous coins market for a very very long time.

Positioning Dash as direct competitor to BTC is a bit of exaggeration. I agree Dash is a good coin for increased security and anonymity use cases but that's a niche market. Most users simply don't need such stuff.
