I had this yesterday, and assumed there was some sort of maintenance going on, assuming it's not a ddos of sorts.

There is a simple trick to know when the forum is working or not... simply go to the main page where you see all the boards. Press F5 a couple of times. If nothing is moving (if there are no new posts) then come back later because when you post you will still keep getting the database error.
I think this issue was solved..the link given by the op i made a posted and didn't received the database error.
Maybe like you said maintenance because i was remember that some of my post was gone or i think their deleting the oldest thread.
Well the site right now looks fine..

I noticed this problem, too. i think the time come to take hand the db management of the forum.
You can hire DB admins and use professional db solutions. So many people use the forum and stability is important. Sphinx http://sphinxsearch.com/ does great success on loads if you know it. And all db queries has to be optimized. I don't know how you cluster but  amazon has great clustering services too but you need to able to manage it nicely.

Someone said the same about this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitmain-announces-plan-to-create-altcoin-if-bip148-succeeds-1966169

Forum has been giving a lot of errors recently. May be related to theymos tinkering with the forum.

Ironically I got the error on this thread multiple times as well.

I've tried to post in marketplace section and i received "Database error".

In alternate cryptocurrencies everything is working just fine.

I keep getting 'Database error' when trying to reply to a topic.

On this topic, if that matters at all:
