Faircoin appeared to be dead for a while last year. But the devs are currently doing a very nice job with it. Im sure it will eventually beat it ATH.

I would only classify a coin completely dead if its network has stopped running. The NXT clone called NAS coin's network completely stopped, then a group managed to get it running again. They are bringing it back to life.

It's still on Poloniex and Bter, but IMO if the network stops the coin's dead. Although it could be argued that a coin must be on no exchanges, have a network that's stopped, and no dev to be classified dead.

  Graham,

No I can't, but the last six months hasn't been good for any coin.  I don't know what the trigger will be to get these prices up again, but there's lots of money to be made when it does.  It seems to me that Bitcoin et al started to fall when the dollar strengthened and/or when oil prices started to fall at the same time.  When Bitcoin comes back, the so called dead coins will be riding high on its coattails.  Cheers!

Just wondering what your thoughts were on coins that appear to be dead, but might be ready for a rebound.

Can you point to any examples of once-popular altcoins that appeared dead at one time but which have, in your assessment, subsequently had a successful rebound?

Cheers

There are lots of coins that appear dead but if you look deeper you can see they are just gearing up for a rebound.

Learn to identify the signals and you can profit easily from those types of coins.

I usually take a look at the top 50 on this link daily. http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/filter-non-mineable-and-premined/

These aren't considered dead, but you might keep your eyes on Potcoin (POT), Maxcoin (MAX), Mazacoin (MZC), and of course Goldcoin (GLD). Here you have four well-positioned currencies that are currently flying under the radar.

Potcoin makes sense because I see the utility/need for a niche crypto in the cannabis community, Maxcoin because Keiser can turn on the PR like a light switch any time he chooses, Mazacoin because it make sense to have a sovereign coin and Payu is great at marketing, and Goldcoin because its developer is the Nikola Tesla of the crypto world.

Casinocoin is probably the best value for a beat up scrypt coin IMHO.
