I'm interesting to know how this would play out in reality.

As an example: I've taken Achilles coin and removed the 11million premine - https://github.com/darrenturn90/Achilles-NoPremine

Any particular reason to choose Achilles?  Only it's a plain copy of Godcoin, with a premine and a different block reward structure:

The “zencoin” references are from my brand-normalisation facility, a small Python script that “normalizes” all the regex-imposed branding (user-facing strings and the occasional comment), replacing a coin's branding with Zencoin (ZENZ) throughout, allowing comparisons (between now-Zencoins) to reveal just the functional differences.

Cheers

If we can get some coin devs/builders together that are either decent anyway, or *looking to rebuild their reputation* (or whatever) - when a new coin launches - if ppl want to mine it, we can check for hidden premines.. if so - then we can fork the coin, remove the premine - update the versions, then provide Windows, Mac, Linux and Source code wallets quite quickly and get pools/exchanges/users onto that version of the coin - as without the big premine to dump, its going to be more valuable.

But I don't have a windows build environment, and definitely not a Mac one - so looking for people who would be up for such a task.

As an example: I've taken Achilles coin and removed the 11million premine - https://github.com/darrenturn90/Achilles-NoPremine

I've also added about 100,000 to the protocol versions, and minimum version - so the old wallets won't connect (the new wallets wouldn't accept the first block anyway).

But if someone can make a windows/mac wallet for it - we could be onto something,

The end goal of course is to stop devs from making coins with massive/hidden premines - because if they do, they know that we will be there (or someone else) and remove it - and lets be honest, which coin would you mine - the one Wiht or Without the premine?
