The way I see it, Decentraland is trying to do what most dystopian visions of the future have represented. A way for the population to escape the shitshow that is everyday life.  The VR industry is supposed to grow exponentially in the next few years and with VR technology advancing quickly, people will revert to escapism and widespread adoption will more than likely follow.

MANA on bittrex is more gambling than trading, but it's looking like it might go a bit.  Percentage wise, huge gains or possible huge losses  ..

You're right, I think with gains like the ones we've seen there's bound to be some pump and dump behind it and it's like playing with fire. There was a 30% difference in the price between liquid and bittrex, a arbitragers dream!

MANA has been on the rush! getting over 100% against BTC today and also yesterday.
That's amazing! 3x against BTC even during BTC bull period.

HI, i have an eye on this project and i found this wiki wich may help some of us :

https://wiki.decentraland.org/index.php?title=Buying_Land

This project seems promising. I think it was a good idea to buy a large amount of tokens like you did.

Did anyone participate in the Genesis City auction by Terraform

https://terraform.decentraland.org

Also, where can find more info about... How to Build cities or Sell Parcels or Built Districts within Decentraland.

I was somewhat interested in the project but turned off when it was made known that 5 whales essentially purchased the entire token/land in decentraland. Most people seemed to get turned off by this actuality, and I doubt it's going to rebound unless they figure out how to phase off the few individuals that control the entire project.

can I tell  you  why is  a   bad thing that a  Whale  bought  almost all coins?

The pitfall is if they don't attract users who develop worthwhile useful attractions, it is doomed.

This is exactly why this coin is a big gamble! Its all in the hands of the future users! I truly hope it will become "second life's" little brother but it will take a lot of luck and time to get there. Fingers crossed

Same for me! The coin and concept looks promising but it is kinda pointless to invest in a coin when the entire token/land is purchased by only a couple whales. They have way too much power if you ask me. This coin would have been way more interesting if more consumers owned and used this coin in the virtual world and not just by whales that control everything. Really like the project so lets hope it will all work out in 2018

As I understand it, I don't exactly see decentraland gaining traction. It seems to essentially serve as a much more exclusive and expensive alternative to Second Life, with, I assume, much less capabilities for the users. Now, I don't know as much about this project as I could, so I may be entirely wrong, but I personally don't see this succeeding int he long run.

You're right, like second life, but actually with far more capabilities because everything is decentralized(hence the name)and is determined by the users and what they develop. I've never played second life, but the experience is entirely dictated by the company who developed it and what they allow you to do. Decentraland is wide open to what users want to develop. IE using land for a casino, advertising, VR experiences.

The pitfall is if they don't attract users who develop worthwhile useful attractions, it is doomed.

In my opinion this projects looks really solid and would be a great long term investment, but I don't have any money to invest in ico and also I got bored with new coins.

If they can get a good amount of users, the whales would actually work in your favour by restricting supply , therefore driving up demand and the price. Afterall, Mana can still be bought extremely cheap for 0.00000230 BTC.

I agree with how poor looking and dull it is right now, but if you look at their development timeline, the silicon age "A full-fledged 3D world, with full VR support and customization of the laws of physics." isn't due until next year. They are currently gearing up to do their "Terraforma" event which will be the first land auction using Mana, which is followed by "iron age" then finally the "silicon age". I anticipate that once land is auctioned, development of Decentraland will follow shortly thereafter.  They are very much still in the development stage though, so it may look dull right now, but I'm hopeful about what they will eventually create.

The team behind it is pretty impressive. Here's their blog https://blog.decentraland.org

Very cool idea - but if you take a look around decentraland as it currently exists, it's pretty poor looking.  And dull.

I'd like to see something come of this project - but if its current state is what they have managed to acheive after having supposedly been working on it for a good few years now - I just don't see it happening...

I'm new to the forum and coin trading. One of the alt coins I stumbled on is Decentraland(Mana). I was looking at the biggest percentage losers of the day on Bittrex and Decentraland was some over -100% for the day. When I checked it out, it actually sounds like a really cool concept with a lot of potential down the line. https://decentraland.org

I'm sure the recent big losses stem from the coin coming back down to earth after their ICO, however, in the long run Decentraland sounds like an interesting concept with a lot of potential. I've bought about 90k in Mana as a long term investment. Just wondering what others think of it?

They got listed on Bittrex and it spiked and apparantly as you say has gone down again. I think it is interesting aswell but I also think it bears allot of risk.
