Personally i am sure that we will see golden times for DEXs, but not today. Their development is at the beginning, so it is not so easy to use some DEXs now. We just have to wait.

decentralized exchanges are really useful. KYC requirements are not sought and commission rates are lower, but i think they're weak in security.

Decentralized exchangers will definitely exist in the future, but they are likely to be partially modified. For example, financial regulators want to oblige users of decentralized exchanges to go through the KYC procedure, but in this case, there is no need to talk about anonymity and decentralization, because a user database with personal user data must be created for this. I think there will be truly decentralized exchangers, but they can be blocked by government agencies, providers, and so on.

I don't think it's an issue of DEXs surviving. If you think about it, all the DEXs around right now are pretty much only living on servers, so at the worst effort, especially with all the low liquidity around, they only have to pay for server hosting and maintenance. We've all seen the problems of liquidity with DEX since 2016 even, and problem kept growing even with the bull run because 100s of DEXs were competing.

I see cross platform or joined up DEXs as the future. But maybe users get smart and just use whichever DEX they need as and when needed.

so do you think that centralized exchage dont live in servers and dont pay for the hosting ?  of course both of them are paying for it becuase they were both online .

In fact, bitcoin was created with decentralized structure. Unfortunately centralism is at the forefront at the moment. But i always try to prefer decentralized exchanges. To me, the future of the crypto is in the decentralized exchanges.

agreed . cryptos were built to be decentralized and we must also support decentralized exchange platform in order to give respect to the founder satoshi .

It is said that idex which is known as the best and popular decentralized exchange isn't totally a decentralized one. However with the comparison of DEX and non DEX, I think they will both survive in the future.

Traders are looking for a better and convenient place for them to stay and most of these exchanges are the non dex's. And for example, binance is a known non dex and you know its development? they are building a DEX which will be launched soon.

Why would they build a dex version if the original non dex version is already doing a great job ? Anyway  i agree that centralized exchange such as binance are more better than the decentralized ones such as etherdelta its because they were more stable and less buggy  . i also notice that the volumes are more bigger in centralized based exchange when compared to the decentralized one because they mainly supports mainstream cryptos and not tokens or erc20 coins .

If they have a strong vision towards developments from the team and focus on listing the very good project, definitely it will help the Decentralized exchange to sustain for more years in the coming days. They will survive if they have great vision.

I finally decided to create a discussion regarding the future of digital exchanges and I really need your help so I would love to hear your thoughts about it.

Do you think that the decentralised exchanges are going to survive or will be swamped by the non-decentralised exchanges? What's going to be the future of trading? Also, what's the meaning of decentralised exchange? Are they really fully decentralised?

It would be nice to make a list of the good one in order to help other people making a choice.

It seems to me that decentralization is something that must be pursued. This is the essence of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Now you should just develop it

Decentralized exchanges have much more advantages than any other exchanges that now exist on the market. I think that it is necessary to implement and then we will be close to the digital future

I think the non-decentralized exchange will be able to survive. because there are several reasons that underlie this:

1. In my opinion, security for centralized exchange is more secure than decentralized exchange.

2. mostly if your assets are lost without a definite cause, then the possibility of a centralized exchange team will replace the total of your assets.

So, now I trust the centralized exchange rather than the decentralized exchange.

Decentralized exchanges will have its place in the future but until now there is no such exchange which can satisfy the traders needs so that is the reason people still using the centralized exchanges.I know that binance is going to launch their DEX in the next year and it may bring the revolution on the crypto exchanges to the decentralized platforms.

They are going to become decentralize soon , because the future is decentralization , The reason of seeing so many whale is that still some coins have not been decentralized and some people have lots of them .

I like to use decentralized exchanges because it's so easy to move or create transaction without any KYC. The only problem is the liquidity. If more traders will use dex then they will survive for sure.

yes they will all survive. Decentralized exchanges are currently one of the best exchanges because traders get to get 100% control over their digital assets. You can decide to deposit or withdraw your asset at any time you wish to

I hope Binance will launch their DEX in early 2019 based on own new blockchain and it will have the same good interface and fast speed work. There is no new listings now but DEX will improve that and many new promising coins/tokens will be listed on that DEX with good liquidity.

If crypto will be able to survive which it will then decentralized exchanges will also survive, there are already some good decentralized exchanges working really well, i personally use forkdelta and idex mostly and i find them smooth and nice also there are many new decentralized exchanges under development, so good times ahead.

I really like decentralised exchanges but to survive long term there are a number of problems that they need to overcome.

(1) They need a more user friendly experience for people trading on them.

(2) Since they work by using smart contract to perform the execution they are speed limited and can only transact as quickly as the underlying blockchain.

(3) The SEC's recent charges against the former owner of EtherDelta shows that they are likely to have regulatory trouble if they don't find a way to conform to KYC/AML or at the least find a way to exclude Americans from using them.

This is very true.
Decentralized exchange runs on smart contract and right now most of them have a problem with their scalability, the average transaction that they can do is around 20 transaction per second or even less than that which will cause a lot of bug or spike when peoples are using it.
about SEC, they are giving us 2 options which are :
Licensing the exchange or fully implemented KYC/AML.

Yes decentralize exchanges will survive because it is designed for the crypto currencies so due to this if we know that crypto is the neat future currency and if we keep it with us it will make us very rich in future but we don't know the actual value of crypto and it is profitable if you have crypto in these days because speculations in crypto is very high so it is also important for crypto trading through crypto exchanges.

it is nice to stay in the shadow when you don't want your name to be seen while doing some financial activities. but since our world is not a holy land full of innocent minds, we can agree here it might be sensible to have some publicity

I think you just need to make a decentralized exchange, where no one will know the members of the project team. Then there will not be any problems with regulatory authorities. Also, it will not be necessary to implement the KUS / AML procedure, and this is very important for decentralized exchange. How do you like my thought? I would be happy if we discuss this.

if we look at the level of security, maybe the market decentralization is safer than the market type of centralization.

but sometimes the decentralization market is more difficult to access. need a good internet connection so that we are heavy when accessed. in contrast to market centralization there are many advantages that we can get from this type of market. start supporting mobile applications and support teams that work 24/7

but there are many hacking cases in the market centralization so I think this type of market is not safe.

if asked whether the decentralized market can survive in the future? in my opinion, it depends on the investors, the more altcoins made using smartcotrac, the greater the possibility that investors will use the decentralized market.

Only decentralized crypto-exchanges will survive in the future and will be in demand.  I do not want to go through KYC and leave my data in the centralized crypto-exchange, and many people, too.

I'm confident it will survive. I mean, why would we put a stop to something potentially beneficial to us? The efficiency, transparency and convenience it can provide will serve as the best financial instrument we could ever use. The options for exchanges today seem exciting to me too. If you do your research, there are a lot of new cryptos now exhibiting unique features. For example, I’ve been reading up about Virie. According to its whitepaper, it’s a virtual marketplace with an easy-to-use cryptocurrency feature. I think it gives us a glimpse of what going cashless would be like --or as others put it, our future virtual economy. Looks very promising.

It will still survive. The decentralized exchange means the system build on the decentralized platform to prevent the possibility of its system getting hacked easily. Some of dex are fully decentralized. Even SEC has nothing to do with them as long as they have been running on the friendly country for crypto and they are all will be fine.

Cool, which one would you suggest?

At present it is said that decentralized exchange is the future of exchange, but now I feel they are not perfect enough, they are too difficult to use with new people, features are not friendly, will lose. a long time to use them widely.

So you're saying that the UX is crucial and I do agree on that. But I do believe that's a problem that can be reduced.

What's the best exchange according to your vision?
