Isn't there any decentralized BTC exchange around? One that doesn't require ID verification among other things (like Cryptsy) in which I could trade BTC anonymously?  Huh

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks  Wink

You can trade BTC anonymously on any exchanges, but BTC to fiat or fiat to BTC is none at this point.

Someone should make an exchange where you can trade BTC for fiat with no ID verification, etc That would be great.  Roll Eyes

and would be against the law, it would be shut down in minute, the problem is always that you need to attach your bank account, from that moment you are screwed, they will know about it

crypto should leave fiat altogether and used directly for buying what you want

That is certainly true but shoudn't we supposed to have freedom when it comes to using our money? I think that governments have taken that freedom and thus they apply regulations with the fact that you don't have complete control over your funds. With Bitcoin, we are our own banks and have complete control of our money. However, I do like the fact that you could use crypto for purchases and leave fiat aside. This is just my opinion, though  Roll Eyes

There are some projects trying to offer just that... but For now, this type of exchange is still being developed.
The Ethereum network is already live and aims to decentralize the web. Let's hope that the Ethereum team can develop a new decentralized exchange.

http://multigateway.org/

This is the closest to the decentralized exchange that crypto has. You can exchange NXT and BTCd for Bitcoin.

It is worth checking out!

Coinffeine as far as I know is a decentralized exchange. But I have never checked them out how decentralized they really are.
Maybe it's worth a try.

Coinffeine is an open source, peer-to-peer (P2P) bitcoin exchange platform. With Coinffeine you are able to buy and sell bitcoins securely and anonymously without having to rely on a centralized exchange. It's like BitTorrent for your bitcoins!

I checked out Coinffeine and it looked very promising. I guess this by far is the best decentralized exchange yet (in my opinion)

Starting from the fact that the exchanges are legal and they want to stay in the business, will not have any you want to break the legislation in order to provide anonymity, would become suspect and would be closed by money laundering probably doesn't make sense, what you're looking for depending on the amount, you can sell and buy among members of this forum, exchanging small amounts to avoid loss.

Does bitshares have a way to trade btc for fiat? Or just for alts?

no fiat. at this point there aren't any decentralized exchanges that do so. not sure how convenient it would be if it was possible to do fiat trading.
