It is a kind of double edged sword. Unless you are willing to go the whole way and set up your own email system, there aren't really any options out there that you can verify are secure. Gmail might not be perfect, but at least google have shown in the past that they are willing to confront an overreaching government when it comes to privacy. You might want to avoid businesses in the US for this purpose, as they have a nasty habit of preventing companies talking about intrusive requests until any court case is over.

I heard about Prometheus ICO somewhere. It should be a new token which powers decentralized email providers... there are not so much informations about this project though.
Anyway, get rid of gmail as soon as possible if you wanna take care of your privacy! Same for outlook, yahoo, aol and all the other big tech companies which sell user data.

Hi people,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good alternative to Gmail. I have come to detest a lot of what Google stands for and would like to move to a different email provider. Are there any good decentralized email services or ones that don't want to know everything about you?

Any advice appreciated.

Yeah, I saw these and they look like great ideas. Unfortunately, they're just ideas at the moment! LOL.

That's a really good idea , I would like to know also if there is any decentralized email provider !

After quick search I found CryptaMail, FlowingMail and Proemtheus (ICO).
Anybody used any of this emails?

Errr...I don't need to surf the dark web - stupid post. I just hate the technocrats and their private information vacuum cleaners.

Get on TOR and get an unattributed email from the "dark web." You should be able to get the services that you want without any of the hassle of giving up any information. That way you can surf the darker side of the net without being snooped on from google and the big corporations.
