Friends, the market capitalization suffers from huge losses, do you think the "Great Depression" of cryptocurrency will last for a long time? Will you do something until the end of the year, or you wait for growth the next year staying with your portfolios on hold?
The time to do something probably passed some time ago, everyone that is still holding his coins does not have many options, you either sell your coins and lose money or keep holding and wait for the recovery, and since I do not like the idea of losing money I have no option but to keep holding my coins even if the price will not improve in years.

I think there is no other way, except waiting. If you are able to bear huge loss then you can sell all your crypto currencies at lowest price. I am waiting from last 8 months and will be waiting for 8 months more. I am continuously monitoring market, it is moving towards stabilization.  Hope it will recover.
There is no point in selling now, everyone that is thinking about that should forget about it because doing it now will mean that you will never see the money that you invested in the market again so the only choices we have are to trade or to hold our coins but trading when the market is moving the way it does will give you even more losses.

when price drop to $6k a lot of us thought its the bottom. now that its $3400, some also thinks its the bottom. it would have been been great if you have sold while the price is higher so think about it if the price sinks to $1500 later.

ETF should be should have decided approvednor not.
I think ETFs aren't that influential at this time. well, however, everyone might have thought the ETF would refuse, or delay the announcement. well, but for some people, holding back might be a very good thing for now. well, maybe because the price is already at the bottom.

First of all this isn't a great depression. Don't fall into the trap of people who don't know anything about Bitcoin before 2017. This is just the most recent of a series of crashes, that are part of the cyclic nature Bitcoin's market.

I don't think we'll see a serious decline again. As the fall from $6000 to $3500 was from the Bitcoin Cash war that I guess just panicked the whole market. I think we might be looking at a $3000-$6000 price for the next half year. So what am I doing until the end of the year? I'm buying. I started buying for the first time in just over a year the day it dropped under $4k last week. Bought some more this week. The only thing to do is either buy more at these incredible prices, or continue holding if you don't have money to buy in now.
I agree with you and you have good strategy, but I think that there is more factors which cause Bitcoin crash beside Bitcoin Cash war. Bitcoin Cash war is over, but bear market is not over yet.

All you can do is to spend as little as you can and try to buy some more. That should be anyone's plan fro 2019.  2019 will be lifetime opportunity for all that joined crypto in 2017.

Unless something changes the price will not drop any further but I doubt it will go any higher neither.
It will probably stay between $3800-$4300 prices and not move any further down or up between those prices.

We just need to hope for the best and dream a day where a rich whale says its enough and buys a bunch of bitcoin all at once. A single person (or even a group) buying 50 thousand bitcoins all at once would mean a lot of money for the market and the price will go up soaring sky-high.

So, we can't really expect anything to happen until the year is over but we can at least hope for a savior to come in and change the markets, without a drastic thing like that happening there is no chance the price will move. However 2019 looks a lot more bright even on the first month so that is something.

We need enough patience to sustain on this bearish market as we don't know when this will end. Holding is the only way not to lose much of our funds.

I don’t really know how it’s going to be this year, maybe it will keep on decreasing. I have seen people say December is bull, but I think they are all just some Bitcoin enthusiasts trying to get people to keep on holding. I don’t see any reason why I should hold crypto while whales and other investors sell theirs and make profit and I’m losing. Bull run might be next year or even next two years. I still have Bitcoins though, and not only that, I have altcoins too and I’m not bothered about the price falling.

I also hope we can get a bigger price before Christmas, i need some cash money before Christmas and at actual bitcoin price i need 0.09 BTC at least to have enough for what i need to buy. If people will not sell now for such price i think we can have 1BTC=6000$ before Christmas.

Hope not, last month is where almost need cash. Hope the price will pump a bit this holiday season like the usual.  After having rise to $4k+, here we go again at $3800. People with weak hands will thought again that it will continue to fall. Hopefully time will come they will change their mindset but seems impossible because they keep on repeating the same mistake and they are also one of the reason of decline.

this depression may last until next year if BAKKT is not launched, since they are not yet licensed, but if BAKKT is launched and some ETF is approved, then it will be the end of that depression. Of course this is just my opinion because I am not an expert and I am not a psychic. Do not take my post as if it were a financial advice

Why do you think Bakkt or an ETF would end the bear market? Traders might pump the price a bit on regulatory approval, but the launch of these markets isn't a guarantee that lots of institutional money is waiting to invest. Institutions are also capable of shorting the regulated markets (assuming they can source the BTC or ETF shares to do so).

To jump in here, BAKKT pushed back their launch date by 6 weeks due to, as they say, high client demand. I guess they weren't ready to get going with all the demand they have. At the very least that speaks well for its effect on bitcoin, since BAKKT has to buy all the Bitcoin used in the futures trades. An ETF should have a large effect on price, especially if multiple ETFs get passed, that alone over time will likely bring in millions more people with thousands of dollars to invest. With BAKKT being the first actual Bitcoin exchange on Wall St, I think we're gonna see an ETF approval by end of 2019. Let's not forget a few other Wall St firms (fidelity, nasdaq, maybe goldman sachs) should have bitcoin services up in 2019. I don't think these things will end the bear market, I think we've reached the bottom range of the market now, I think Wall St slowly getting into Bitcoin next year is not what will end the bear market but is what will start the bull market. I don't really see any more intense panic selling happening below $3000s level, so now I think we'll see sideways trading but still with decent volatility and then those things next year will start the bull market.

Our market still moving up and down,  we expect recoveries but isn't in the instant way.  It surely we can't see bull run this year and it could be better not to expect it anymore. It is just a huge satisfaction for me seeing crypto market recovers from dips and ATH might do hard to shown again.

It is a roller coaster ride and it is due to its volatility that it keeps moving up and down. So nothing much to worry and also it has started to recover well so all eyes on 5k levels first.  So this subject line which OP mentioned is now not much relevant as it is not going to fall more now from here it seems.

The market suffers indeed from huge lose so better we should hold still this time. No one is certain when is the end of this bearish market but I believe it can experience again of increasing price. So I will continue holding through these days until it can recover.

Dude. It's not even a great depression. Though i don't think there will be any significant bull runs anymore til the end of the year, sometime 2019 would probably see us recover. Not to the point of hitting another all time high, but enough to prove that this market is breathing and will continue to grow.

Friends, the market capitalization suffers from huge losses, do you think the "Great Depression"

It was called great because it lasted a decade and effected every industry.   This is just usual pullback in BTC and its new to people not here for five years or so I guess.      It often shakes off the quick speculators, every market will do this really

Depends on your time frame for calling it in decline, my view is to call it as sideways moving.      That might disappoint alot of people but I'm not looking for massive movements especially up or down.   It'll be cycling in a range with people reacting like a rollercoaster :p

For a long time I have thought the bear market will last for a longer amount of time than the majority speculated and I am not very happy to find out that I am probably right, there are some traders and investors trying to find opportunities to make money despite the difficulty that has but to me that is a waste of time since it is almost impossible to make money when almost all the market goes down, so for the time being I will hold my coins.

The current market doesn't changed my approach on my hold coins. Continue to hold until the end. We are already used to a large bearish trend so why give up today? If you are on the purpose of accumulation then just do it if you have a chance.

Like I always said, people just have to "TRUST THE PROCESS". Don't rushed things. Soon everyone's target price will be reached.
That is a mindset that has made a lot of people get wealthier over the years even with the market still in a shape of a downtrend like this. As long as you trust in the process like you said, you understand the potential of what you have in your wallet and the need to hold for as long as it starts becoming usable in the real world, you really will not have any issue when it comes to holding and even trying to accumulate the dip to be able to increase your stash now for the long run. Patience is all that it takes for any investor that really wants to end up getting the best from this market in the long run.

Friends, the market capitalization suffers from huge losses, do you think the "Great Depression" of cryptocurrency will last for a long time? Will you do something until the end of the year, or you wait for growth the next year staying with your portfolios on hold?

There's one thought that the price will go as low as $3000, but the opposing side says it won't go that deep. So what does it mean? It means that no one can really say where the price could be at the end of the year. Maybe we can see the bears market took longer than expected, or news such as Bitcoin ETF approval or the BAKKT Bitcoin futures offering will be enough catalyst to get out of this market conditions. So for me its better to go for the long term, shorting bitcoin or any crypto is very risky as this point. Its better to HODL and accumulate and wait for the bulls to regain the market early 2019.
Now that Bakkt has been postponed, I will not doubt seeing that happening. The major support I am really looking out for right now is the $3k support and this is the one I am really hoping as much as possible we will get to see a good bounce with volume from here. However, it is the market, surprises can happen we might think something and get to see another, but in most cases, as long as the market presently is low and lower than $10k, it is just a best time to be accumulating as much as you can. Who does not like a good bargain except for those who do not understand the long term potential of what they want to buy?

You know it's difficult to predict the market situation now but we are still hoping for the big changes before end of this year since the bitcoin is very volatile. For now,i will hold my assets 'till market recover.
Yes, it was indeed difficult to predict the market situation now but there are some kind of history or past market trend which usually repeat itself in crypto currency market and what I am trying to make you understand is the market can be predicted with fundamental analysis when we're at the Q4 stage of the market.
Mind you, it will be next year before we can experience market recover and it will be better if you buy more coin.

We all disappointed to are huge lose this month before the year end. Well, since the market orice of bitcoin is volatile I am confident to the recovery of it as soon as possible since we lose money then lets fight for it. Some people now thinking to sell their coins/tokens to because they are afraid to lose more of their money in the walletjust let it be because the ones left are brave enough to wait the recovery of bitcoin.

I'm in a hold mode as this dumping will end soon and a new rally will be created to rise the price a little bit higher to a comfortable level. It's not a good idea to get panic as this downfall is just a normal correction in cryptocurrency. Although I'm not expecting this to fall in this bottom but all I can do is to buy a little and hope for a bounce back.

The price decline is really getting on a very drastic level. The bear market is taking a very big toll and the market is just going down on a daily basis. From the way it's looking now it might continue till the end of the year. Unlike last year's bull run, by this time, there was already a good turnaround of things but now it's a different thing.

May be the declination will continue till the ending of year 2018 and we all hopefully that at the beginning day of 2019 market will arise and all investors and traders will gain must.

Really hard to see where the price is at the end of the year. Its a reversal of what we have witnessed in 2017. Everyone see that during the December month we will see a good price, however, it looks like the past pattern is not going to be applicable this 2018.

Usually market recovery takes longer than the destruction they make, so I think that 2018 is the year of learning for all because crypto is able to fall to an unexpected loss for all. but I am still optimistic that in 2020 Crypto will be successful again and will be increasingly known and used in many community activities

A lot had claimed the decline is manipulated so there must have been plans to also pump it also, there is just no one can say when it will happen maybe it will in 2020.  Nevertheless, there is nothing else to do but wait unless you wanna dump and think of buying back if indeed the price will dip more. This must be a plan for some.

It’s possible that the price might continue to fall till the year ends. But if you have some coins it would be best to leave them in your wallet so that the next bull run doesn’t take you by surprise. Many even claim that December will be the time for the bull run, but I don’t think so. I think bull run is not going to happen this year, we are going to see the market take a U turn next year. As for now, the best thing to do is stay put.

It's really disturbing to see the market surges nearly $700 Billion in just 12 months of period. I saw jokes like ''My Trezor wallet is worth more than total holdings on it" all I can say its horrible time to be in cryptocurrency but soon the situation will be change as many of us believe.

This only happened because of the  "war" between ABC and SV imo. It could last for years but I don't think it will last that long eventually one of them should give in at some point.

Will you do something until the end of the year, or you wait for growth the next year staying with your portfolios on hold?
I've said this before on a older thread and i'll say it again as a reminder. I always spend my Bitcoins whenever I have some in my wallet and i'll keep on doing it so more people will be encouraged to use their Bitcoin instead of holding.

I don't care if other think it's dumb to spend Bitcoin since that's the reason why it's made in the first place.
It’s no longer a new thing and it’s everywhere in the news.  I don’t know why people keep asking about what caused the price to fall, it’s simply because of the BCH Fork leading to having the SV and ABC which are in serious war with each other. And btw… I also do the same thing, spend my Bitcoin.

A lot of people would say it’s best to Hodl, for me I do hodl but it all depends. Sometimes I can decide what’s best for me is to spend while other times I may decide to just keep it if there is nothing I need it for.

Friends, the market capitalization suffers from huge losses, do you think the "Great Depression" of cryptocurrency will last for a long time? Will you do something until the end of the year, or you wait for growth the next year staying with your portfolios on hold?

The price of bitcoin and altcoin in 2018 has experienced a very sharp decline, the most severe decline occurred in the last two months. I will do something to survive experiencing a reddish market like this and I will continue to hold the assets that I hold and sell when prices recover later.

There's lots of uncertainty rn to the point that most sides has a decent chance of happening in my eyes. But whatever happen, my stance would still be the same and that is to hold and trade some portion of my holdings. The ups and downs are still there, market is still volatile so should your chances to profit.

And like any of you, I'm hoping that 2019 will be a good year for us!

It won't last for a long time, we're coming to the year where the market is about to recover, too many speculations that are very negative and that won't help us as individual holders. I'm not going to do something at the end of the year except buying while having some bucks to spend.

And if the market grows, I'll do what I have to do and that is selling time. It's not bad to take profit though you are a long term holder, having some chunks of your coins isn't going to harm you. But it will only happen, if everyone will endure til' the end of this year.

No one has an answer for your question and if someone tells you he knows what will happen, don't believe him.
If you think Bitcoin is strong enough to survive, then hold and buy more, if you don't, just sell what you have and invest in something else.

Nobody can specifically say how long the cryptocurrency price will continue to fall. It is better to closely watch the price in a time like this and not be in a hurry to invest. The  best thing to do, in my opinion, is to hold your cryptocurrency rather than sell at a loss.

Trading is too unpredictable, many of us here predicting about in bitcoin according to their perception and yet it is not precisely happening in the actual. So, since the declining period on crypto currency was almost happened in less than a year, so I think that 2018 is not the harvest time for crypto, instead we loss our coins we hold better to hold and wait for the bull run for it and be a bullish for a moment while we wait.

This only happened because of the  "war" between ABC and SV imo. It could last for years but I don't think it will last that long eventually one of them should give in at some point.

I don't think much about this year, I will hold all my investments until next year and in that year I hope prices will improve and give a lot of benefits to my investment

The year still has December to come and might be bitcoin can recover from 4500$ and even if it double in this year altcoins can rise multiple times from the current level as it has taken a huge dip in last six months considering the btc being falling every time. In case if you achieve your target you can actually start selling this year itself or may be hold for the long term to make it big returns.

Well I don't have enough time to wait to grow it next year without assurance of it getting back my investment. I won't hold my portfolio... I will sell them all and accept my losses and will go to a new investment but this time I won't HODL but i will take advantage of the markets volatility by doing day trading in this way even the price is dropping I can still earn even though it's not that much.

we should know that not all the time HODL is the answer there's a time that we might miss some great opportunities to earn.

Yes i do believe that crypto market will last long and will continue also. Good and bad days in every work. I think there are something bad days going in crypto industry. But think very soon it will go its previous position and big investors not investing with low position of BTC. So big investors will grow market up. Don't be upset.

I have decided to stop and withdraw all my assets. waiting for good information to return. it's too risky to hold altcoin or bitcoin at the moment. we don't know the lowest price, and when this panic lasts.

Actually, I will do nothing. Nothing means no trade, no tension, no depression. HODL until market recovering. 2020Money. what have you taken about your portfolio?
