i'm asking the exact cost .5 amps of power and 1u of space at the datacenter and giving the ip address and bandwidth for free since it's part of my other plans....

I might be interested but for double that I can get a machine with an i7 quad core CPU, 16GB RAM, 2 x 3 TB SATA Disks, 10,000 GB at 100 Mbit/month, an IPv6 /64, easy to set reverse DNS, and an easy to use rescue system.

You are offering a better price/performance than the cheaper virtual machines from linode.com though.

going to get either the cost of it sitting in the datacenter or i'll pay the datacenter to ship it back to me when the rest of the current period is up if there are no takers

30/month  is exactly what it's costing to be in the datacenter for space and power and it will cost 40 to get formatted for the renter

giving the bandwidth/ip for free since i have a large vlan and it is a negligible cost

just looking to get at least the cost or when the current billing period is over i will be paying the datacenter to ship it back to me

i have an extra server in my colo setup at steadfast and would like to first offer it here at an auction starting at cost before trying to outright sell the hardware/ship it out of the datacenter

here is the build:

SUPERMICRO SYS-5015A-H 1U Intel Atom 330 Dual-Core 1.6GHz Dual Gigabit LAN Server Barebone

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148395

that is the exact hardware including the box it is all in that you'll be using

you can check out the network/datacenter it's hosted in here http://steadfast.net/corporate/network.php

spare parts are on hand (i use a few identical boxes for live / important stuff so parts are on hand - all owned by me) and i will be responsible for solving hardware issues

software end is your doing, i will provide the os you ask for and it's yours.

it will come with one public ipv4 address and if you need ipv6 i can provide that as well

free inbound bandwidth and included 2000gb outbound bandwidth - i can for sure work with bandwidth amounts over that if required get in touch

datacenters rules apply http://steadfast.net/corporate/legal.php so be sure to read the tos and such to see what is not allowed

starting bid is to be $30 a month in bitcoins and a one time $40 setup fee to get your OS and such setup

any questions please ask

auction will last up to a week after the first bid
