There is trouble abrewing
after reading the first post and the way OP describes this dude and his book i though maybe this time could be different even though this looks exactly like all the rest of the copy coins. but after doing a little search on this dude it is clear that he is just another person exploiting a buzzword called "blockchain" alongside other hot topics such as the COVOD-19 pandemic to make profit and fill his pockets.
don't get me wrong, i would be happy to proven wrong but i have seen too many of the same damn thing to believe otherwise.

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
I just went through the news, it is a good read embracing the blockchain in the health sector is a good one. what I'm actually stuck at is this; "How can they trace potential suicide victims with the help of blockchain?"
You can ask that to Chopra-kadabra (just a gag name I invented from odolvlobo's shared link I just read). They have a crystal ball, I think. They know but what's their profit if they'll laid it publicly at least they have to generate first.

Never heard of this guy. Is he Indian or Indian origin only?
Neither of the two. He's an American-Indian.

Deepak Chopra is a well-known charlatan: http://skepdic.com/chopra.html

Then he's now a blockchain charlatan like all the rest of the shitcoin blockchain charlatans, and snake oil salesmen. I'm sure he's HODLing Hedera blockchain coins to sell to you for your what? Your Bitcoin.

I wouldn't even give them that much credit.  They probably want your fiat.

It probably goes a little something like this:

1)  appeal on an emotional level for people to help you "save the world".
2)  accept national currencies to support you to "carry out your mission".
3)  achieve nothing, don't actually help anyone, keep the money.
4)  repeat ploy with the next "noble cause".

Or want to have fiat through OUR Bitcoin. Make it hard for them boys, buy the dip, and just HODL. There will only be 21 million Bitcoins mined, and we haven't seen peak demand yet.

I don't know this guy either but the fact that he's trying to use blockchain for a good purpose is actually nice. But after reading the article, I'm not really sure if this will really help and could prevent suicide rates. A lot of people are suffering mental health issues and various groups or organizations are already trying to help people suffering from this problem, but would it really be that helpful or effective to adopt blockchain in these cases?

I see no problem with his intention to help, as well as promoting blockchain but I'm not sure with how it can be related to this issue.

I have no idea who this guy is and how smart he is(though hands down for focusing on a project with a good cause), but I'm still not convinced why this needs to be put in a blockchain. Does such database really need to be decentralized and tamper-proof?

If by "hundreds of years" you mean "to the ripe old age of 29".

Not to argue with your post, cause of course this Deepak Chopra  guy is a quack, but people didn't live till 30 years in ancient times, this is simply an average life expectancy of the whole population, and it was heavily influenced by child mortality. If you factor out child mortality, people actually lived to 60-70 years.

I honestly think that his advocacy towards supporting the mental health of COVID-19 patients along with Hedera Hashgraph by leveraging blockchain is gonna be great. It's for the benefit of all, especially that the numbers are steadily rising around the world.

It's pathetic how blockchain scammers take advantage of covid-19 to make money. I've seen some people having signatures of some blockchain covid projects - I think theymos should have intervened and banned such campaigns.

I'm always glad to hear that technology is changing the world. I see more and more institutions and famous people using the DLT to change the world which is extra proof that the tech behind Bitcoin is here to stay and revolutionize the world.  Cool

It doesn't look like this is going to change the world, though.  Unless the change is wasting money developing needlessly convoluted and inefficient ways to (ab)use blockchains.

See what the man is and what the man believes we cannot question but right now if he is trying to help the bitcoin community to spread the word , then I do think that its only good for us
The bitcoin community does not need liars and con artists peddling their snake oil.

Our forefathers uses herbs to cure all ailments and they live hundreds of years.

He's a quack. He believes that you can reverse aging by thinking hard enough, and that if you are good enough at yoga you can "liftoff" and fly. Really. I'm not making that up. He sells a variety of pseudo-science nonsense such as random herbs for $100 a bottle, along with things like a video course of meditation for $1,000....

LOL, you will be surprised by the kind of weird things some people believe in, you know people like this sees cure in everything natural, they believe in the human nature to do things more than the scientific ways of doing things, he is herbs to him are more valuable than the conventional medicine, between I heard meditation is very good in human body maybe you should try it sometimes.  Grin

I never knew that Super Brain co-author Deepak Chopra is now into blockchain. I had a paperback copy of the Super Brain book which I bought it from a local bookstore years ago.

Let us remember the fact that :

No publicity is bad publicity ( well works in this case)

I do believe that Bitcoins can help people mentally in the following way:

Most of the time the government is too dominating over the market , which inturn makes the normal people feel powerless , they don't own their money, therefore I do feel that it actually is good for them to know that they do have power over something here.

There is absolutely zero requirement for a blockchain to be used here. Chopra doesn't care about that though, and he also doesn't actually care about people, otherwise he wouldn't push unproven and dangerous pseudo-scientific nonsense about how he can cure AIDS and cancer. This is absolutely an attention grabber which he will spin in to making more money for himself. He is a predatory scumbag and both him and his blockchain ventures should be avoided by everyone.

Call me cynical, but I think this Hedera Hashgraph is just another organisation trying to exploit all the current blockchain hype for profit.  The type of "collaboration" they're talking about with regard to mental health isn't the kind they're going to get out of this.  Blockchains are about collaborative number crunching, not collaborative healing.  They want a chat platform for people to talk about their issues.  You don't need a blockchain to make that.

It all sounds very misguided, despite being well-intentioned.

Laughable, I believe the community isn't that stupid anymore. He's five years late from the bandwagon stage when everyone wanted to be in on the "blockchain craze".

Maybe for transparency and tamper-proof purposes? Who knows? We can only determine once he and Hedera Hashgraph are pushing this into action and not just hype. Let’s just see what happens.

I honestly like blockchain-based projects that are advocating to fight COVID-19 with full transparency of the ecosystem. Mental health is one issue that most COVID-19 patients are facing, especially that they’re alone in their respective isolation rooms. It’s a great advocacy by Deepak Chopra and Hedera Hashgraph.
