Dear sjyi,

These are great deep questions. I would suggest looking at the graphic for a better explanation on Deepsend. T

1st.) How will the public ledger be used within DO?  The Proof of Work Algorithm (POW Algo) is used to verify transactions. It is not necessary to show geolocation or a persons identity in order to prove that a transaction has occurred with with the POW Algo. So it is irrelevant that this information is anonymous and not shown. In fact this is the whole point of Deeponion.

2nd.) While using deep send you are effectively giving the onion to a thirdparty mixer and guarantor who puts the onion in escrow until the blockchain over an anonymous encrypted network can be verified by three multisig distribution tx. This is public information but it is recorded using 3 random people so that there it would be very difficult if not impossible to trace. After the blockchain is verified and recorded the mixer then gets sent a signal to send the onion to the receiver.

I do not know how many times this gets recorded. I hope this helps and if anyone can correct me I would appreciate it because I too am trying to understand this complicated technology.

This is pretty much my understanding for DS. DO is a great project and I am happy to have gotten on around 1$!!! let's be realistic though, how much IDENTIFYING data needs to be stuck to each transaction? Realistically none. The only proof necessary is that the coins went from A to B in a verifiable way. Huge plus for the crypto in the near future!!! Don't sleep on deep onion

You've found a great entrance point of $1 a coin.  I'd like to get invest heavily, but I'd like to better understand the business case better.  Thanks,

However because the onion is sent to multiple individuals through POS Proof of Stake it appears that many people are transferring the onion. It all get confirmed and the fake amounts get refunded.

Thanks for the answers.  I still have a lot of information to digest.

The concept of DeepOnion (DO) caught my attention.  I've read their white paper a couple of times but there is one thing I could not figure out as it doesn't seem to cover it.

DeepSend transaction seems to hide the transaction information.  Also DO uses TOR as the transport to hide geo-location of the parties.

But DO is based on chainblock with public ledger.

How will the public ledger be used within DO?

With the DeepSend transaction's obfuscation through coinjoin and multi-signature, how will each transaction be recorded within a block?
What gets recorded and how many times?

I'd appreciate any explanation on how this is addressed.
