Ignore the SEC. They're an irrelevent sock puppet for banks, corporations and the financial industry.

The SEC is too biased and partisan to be objective or rational when it comes to bitcoin ETF's.

I doubt we'll ever see them reach a verdict fairly in regard to crypto.

Today Last Day Today there had to be the Last day of the answer to the Appeal SEC where the answer?
Sorry English bad,
But Where News?? Huh and Answer what Say SEC about Bitcoin

Why bothered? Does it really a big deal? Technically yes but rejection happens numerous time so I think to think that as priority is not really making a sense. We can move forward even without that but yes a positive outlook will happen if they will approved it.

For now, just sit back and have a nice coffee somewhere while waiting for that "big" news to arrive. No need to think of it all the times and let SEC takes another time to check all necessary things associated with it.

Today was last day for people to submit their thoughts to the SEC, the announcement from the SEC itself is going to take a few weeks at least.

The answer will be no by SEC! keep on checking  (https://www.sec.gov/rules/sro/batsbzx.htm) for the announcement.

SEC has nothin to do with bitcoin, don't worry about its accouncements. Follow the bitcoin discussion part of the forum, there are topics opened, related to this.

People use the news to speculate with the price. Like it or not, people aren't going to magically stop ignoring news. But of course, nothing is guaranteed, so if you are going to take a decision do it now.

Set a short if you think the rejection of the ETF will deliver another price crash, or do nothing if you thing it will be irrelevant.

Remember that the other ETF was totally irrelevant. This one is the Winklevoss one again tho... so it may have a certain impact.

Im not selling a single coin so good luck with your short.

Very true. People see news and react. It sucks about the hacking and ransomware stuff going around. But inthink most common people forget about it. Too many things are hacked on an bourly basis and people tune out. I think everyone ignores hacks for most part now. Not as much fear as their used to be

SEC does have something to do with the approval of the Winklevoss Bitcoin ETF. Obviously that's what the OP is asking about.

I did a quick search and can't find anything related to today being some key deadline related to the appeal. There may have been a deadline for the SEC to respond to the appeal, however shortly after the Winklevoss boys filed the appeal the SEC accepted it.

Here is the appeal filing with the SEC, there's no mention of a decision date: https://www.sec.gov/rules/sro/batsbzx/2017/34-80511.pdf

According to this article, there's not much hope for the ETF to get approved: https://themerkle.com/65-percent-believe-sec-will-deny-bitcoin-etf/

I agree. Nothing will happen with the bitcoin infrastructure that will provide the regulation the SEC claimed it needed to approve the ETF. We don't need not stinking SEC!

Be prepared for a negative answer. Do you know why it previously got rejected? I'll tell you: because of volatility and lack of protection for the investors. Since this has not changed we can assume the answer will be negative again.
