I have no interest in this, sorry.

You heard it, no solidcoin version will get an exchange from DoubleC.

Moving on...

Actually it's not much work from what I understand and  YES I am asking, I do not know how to code.

I have no problem admitting it. The main reason I want to see SC forked is to put CH back in his corner.

Any fork should consider the "extra bounty blocks" he inserted at the "fix" point to be invalid and reject their outputs as transaction inputs.

If we're gonna put CH in the corner let's do it right, dunce cap and all.

"Hey guys: fuck you got mine.  Also, can someone please do a bunch of work for me for free?"

Why, did you want to fork it, break it, and then closed-source my open-source code after I didn't take your side? Smiley

I meant what I said in all cases. I am 100% here for profit and no other reason. I have zero faith in any crypto-currency.

With merged in code from solid coin - and the  fixed fee structure.. The only real benefit of solid coin is the retarget algorithm (hence why it was copied) everything else is window dressing.

No that was a fork of ixcoin. I know, it gets confusing around here sometimes with all the different coins.

So you have zero faith in *coins but you want to create a new fork to profit from it. In order to profit, you need others to believe in your new SC spinoff. So if you don't believe in it yourself, why should others?

Because the whole concept of cryptocoins relies on idiots being idiots. For information on how that works see the diverse mason threads and people still defending known scammers. As long as he makes money from idiots being idiots more power to him. He's the only sensible invisible hand in this free market.

SmoothCoin, CleanCoin, QuickCoin

Please guys let's stop using the ugly ass "coin" suffix. New chains that really care about making it to the mainstream should take the time to think of a sexier name.

Yeah. And SolidCoin would have been much more accurate if it was called SolidScrew.

I was a SC supporter but the Coinhunter/Real Solid punk has really pissed me off.

You're acting like 95% of the people that are in Bitcoin aren't here for pure unadulterated profit! I have no problem admitting it. I could careless about Bitcoin or any digital currency.

Ixcoin, I0coin, Shitcoin, Schmitcoin or Bitcoin has a ZERO future period unless instant transfer becomes a reality.

I'm just thankfull that Magical Tux has created the "Magic The Gathering of Dumbasses" that will part with USD for it. LOL!!!!

Admit it the only reason to be interested in preserving solidcoin is being entertained by the drama.
I know I am. Tongue

Has been nothing but drama lately, with everything surrounding bitcoin the whole internet laughs at it.

Guess you didn't mine any.

The idea of keeping SC alive seemed silly.

New fork?  Sure, but lettin CH profit from his own screwups seems silly.

Although if SC does die, I feel bad for those who lost a -lot-... but that's the risk I guess.

But if it's gonna continue, I'd start it over again with a new name.  The SC 'brand' has been tooooo hurt by this, imo.

Can't we flatten the blockchain removing whatever was mined before SolidCoin went public?

It should be possible to pick out transactions and merge them into a new blockchain ignoring everything before some given block number.

It's not totally fair as the pre-mined coins may have moved about a bit. Bounty payments may disappear and it may be a lot of work. It would be a lot fairer than started a whole new blockchain though.

I still like the most common typo:  SoldCoin.
Or maybe BoughtCoin?
RealValueReallyISwearItWontCollapseCoin?
ToHellWithCoinHunterCoin?

I mean honestly, what are the odds of an alternate currency actually succeeding alongside of or replacing bitcoin?
Seem pretty minimal to me, it's the Get Rich Quick effect that I think most (all?) are after.

Bitcoin is the Microsoft, all the other coins are at best linux distros.

CH would not profit from a new fork. Quite the opposite.

Oh you misunderstood me.  I'm agreeing with a new *fork*, one where any SC's held by CH (or anyone else for that matter) would be invalid.

THE PROTECTIONS THAT WERE PUT IN PLACE WERE SO THAT POOLS COULD NOT CHANGE THE CODE, AND START MALICIOUS ATTACKS, LIKE THE ONE WE JUST RECEIVED THE OTHER DAY FROM ARTFROZ. WE DID NOT "LOCK" THE CODE UP, OR HIDE IT AWAY IN SOME SECRET SHELF. THE CODE IS STILL VERY MUCH OPEN SOURCE, AND ANYONE CAN STILL WRITE/DELETE FROM IT.
