Who exactly created the I0coin chain block. I'm interested in seeing if this can be resurrected, anyone interested?
How about using the widely acclaimed CoinHunter Bait, Troll & Switch MethodTM?
1 - Kill - Make a buggy upgrade of the I0C client to make sure the chain passes away and doesn't recover.
2 - Fork - Copy I0C into I02.
3 - Bait - Promise to I0C stake holders that you will roll their balance.
4 - Fuck - Respawn I0C in closed source with shitloads of premine, tax, unfair mining advantages and a bit of spyware.
5 - Troll - Spam Bitcointalk.org with tens of personnae to make your coin look popular and to make sure that the forum can't be used anymore for constructive talk.
6 - Boast - Claim you are a kickass genius and everyone who disagree with you is a worthless piece of shit that doesn't even deserve to live.
7 - List - Get your coin listed in exchanges.
8 - Pump - Boost the price by making regular 1-lot hits on the best ask each time it increases.
9 - Dump - Fill the best bid each time it reloads (don't forget to let at least 1 lot not to drop the price).
10 - Enjoy

Don't forget to give me a 1M I02 special account to reward me for the good idea.

I like my little I0coins - at least I could solo mine on it.  I have three wallets around the place and about 100k of coin (it would be tedious to actually add it up).

I would like to propose something like i1 coin.

  • The 1 being for 1 million as only 1 million coins will ever be produced.
  • There will be no pre-mine
  • The coins will be produced as a very slow rate and something like less than 50 a day. To do this it may be fairest to award a fixed fraction of a coin per block.
  • It is a combination CPU/GPU coin. e.g. we have double SHA2 then some really memory hard scrypt. The idea being that the SHA2 is done on the GPU and the scrypt is done on the CPU. This will help take EC2 out of the picture.
  • Local latency must be ultra critical and this will help push the boundaries on reducing the latency inside the PC.
  • It would be a test coin for a p2p exchange such as dark-exchange. Exchange fees would go to miners.
  • The exchange could also be used for other commodities including metals, crude oil, food, land deed titles and possibly even a p2p replacement for GBSE style share registry.

Bring it back as 1st deflationary coin.

* merged mining (preferably cpu mining)
* difficulty change every 20 blocks
* 1 block every 2 minutes
* 2% tax, 0.5% going to miners 1.5% destroyed.
* minimum tax based off difficulty (thus it never needs to be changed) to prevent attacks.

I said let it die a long time ago. It didn't have any truly interesting features. The whole thing was started as a joke to protest the 500,000+ coins that were pre-mined in ixcoin. Since then we've had more currencies premine/genesis into existence over >= 14x that amount. Do we REALLY need to keep alive a premined and no premined of every coin variant that someone decides to come up with.

Yes actually we do  Grin Grin Grin

What would IOCoin need to become a save alt-currency?
The chance of a 51% attack is the biggest problem atm, I guess?
What can be done to fix that? Smiley

Sure why not could be fun.

Why not just use it to trade something ridiculous?
Lets say we use it to trade "rare" information in form of www hyperlinks we think nobody knows about.

That should be pretty easy to implement and would make more sense than an exchange for btc. Or suggest something else to use it for...

It was kr105 in this thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/new-ixcoin-fork-i0coin-36425

It was created largely as a parody of Ixcoin.  I found it hilair that it was as successful as it was Smiley
