n the Gregorian calendar, New Year's Eve also known as Old Year's Day or Saint Sylvester's Day in other countries, the last day of the year, is on 31 December. In many countries, New Year's Eve is celebrated at midnight parties, in which people gathers together, dance, sing and play along and of course lightning fireworks. Some Christians attend a watchnight service. The celebrations generally go on past midnight into New Year's Day, 1 January.
Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian calendar in 1582. It was adopted immediately in some areas of Europe but it was not used in various countries until even centuries later. For example, the United Kingdom and the United States started observing the Gregorian calendar in 1752, in which 11 days were dropped.

New years eve is one of the largest global celebration. People around the globe celebrates it and looking forward to a better and prosperous year ahead. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are symbolized in various ways across the world. Midnight between New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day is often marked by fireworks and fire crackers. Many people drink and toast with champagne or other sparkling wine.

Hoping that everyone here will have a prosperous year ahead. Wink

We're jumping to another year and leaving the whole past year behind. It is true that many consider that every new year is about moving on and changes in things that you want to be.

The difference is that the mindset of many that every new year is always a new start. While having a new day inside the current year is just another day which you'll do the same thing over and over again.

What's the difference between new year eve and every other day? Are they not all days?

for me it was always the same, I don't understand why everyone is so happy when the end of the year arrives. they spend a lot of money on Christmas trees and food to celebrate Christmas and the end of the year ... I just enjoy the food but I don't see the difference in days. Anyway, this is something psychological that has been going on for years and will not change with the exception that last year because of the pandemic the celebrations were moderate and in some countries people stayed home watching the new year arrive
